On the manufacturer figures available here, the Tesla Model X Plaid and Rivian Gen 2 Quad R1 are among the quickest battery-electric SUV candidates: both are listed at as little as 2.5 seconds from 0–60 mph. Lotus lists the Eletre 900 at 2.95 seconds from 0–100 km/h. These are manufacturer claims with different configurations and measurement endpoints, not results from a shared head-to-head test. The figures do not establish a definitive global ranking.
What “fastest” means in this comparison
Fastest can refer to acceleration, maximum speed or a lap time. The main comparison below is acceleration, using each manufacturer’s stated figure and original unit. A 0–60 mph claim and a 0–100 km/h claim have different endpoints, so they should not be treated as identical measurements. Launch mode, tires, surface, battery state and rollout conventions can also affect acceleration results; the cited specifications do not establish a common test protocol.

Among the vehicles with comparable published mph figures in these sources, the Model X Plaid has the highest listed top speed. This is not a complete global top-speed leaderboard: the available manufacturer pages do not establish figures for every region, model or current trim.

Why some “electric SUV” lists mix unlike vehicles
Not every SUV described as electric is a battery-electric vehicle. The Zeekr 9X is identified by Zeekr as a super-hybrid; its release lists 0–100 km/h in 3.1 seconds and up to 1,000 kW. Lotus identifies the Eletre X as a plug-in hybrid, with a claimed 0–100 km/h in 3.3 seconds and 3.5 seconds at 10% state of charge. Why a lap-time claim does not settle acceleration ranking
A lap record measures performance around a circuit, not a standing-start sprint. A Xiaomi Corporation filing dated May 26, 2026, reports a Nürburgring SUV lap-record claim, but the cited passage does not provide a comparable 0–60 mph or 0–100 km/h acceleration time.
