The five prices cover street sport, naked, supersport and closed-course off-road motorcycles; several other announced models had no price in the retrieved U.S. announcement and therefore cannot be ranked without guessing.
2025 Yamaha motorcycles ranked by published U.S. MSRP
The table uses Yamaha Motor Corporation, U.S.A. announcements from 2024. Prices are manufacturer’s suggested retail prices, not out-the-door totals; destination charges, freight, setup, taxes, registration and dealer fees can change the amount paid. Availability dates are the timing Yamaha announced for the U.S. market.

| Rank | Motorcycle | Published U.S. MSRP | Type and engine/platform | Announced availability and notable details |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 2025 Yamaha YZF-R3 | $5,499 | Entry-level R World sport motorcycle; 321cc | Deliveries begin in December. Yamaha positions it as an entry to its R World sport-bike range. |
| 2 | 2025 Yamaha MT-07 | $8,599 | Naked street motorcycle; CP2 platform | Availability announced for December 2024. The all-new model adds YCC-T, ride modes, new upside-down forks, radial four-piston brakes and a 5-inch TFT display. |
| 3 | 2025 Yamaha YZ250FX | $9,099 | Closed-course cross-country competition motorcycle | Yamaha announced dealer availability in October. The redesign includes a new frame, revised intake, updated ECU settings and Power Tuner App support. |
| 4 | 2025 Yamaha YZF-R7 | $9,199 | Street supersport; 689cc CP2 engine | The R7 returns unchanged for 2025 in Yamaha’s announcement. |
| 5 | 2025 Yamaha YZF-R9 | $12,499 | Street supersport; CP3 platform | All-new model scheduled to begin arriving in March. Yamaha announced Team Yamaha Blue, Matte Raven Black and Intensity White/Redline color options. |
The published U.S. range is $7,000 from the YZF-R3’s $5,499 MSRP to the YZF-R9’s $12,499 MSRP. That spread compares very different motorcycles, so price alone does not indicate which model is appropriate.

What each priced 2025 Yamaha offers
2025 Yamaha YZF-R3: the lowest-priced street model
At $5,499 MSRP, the YZF-R3 is the least expensive motorcycle in Yamaha’s five-model U.S. price list. Its 321cc engine and R World positioning make it the entry point among the listed street motorcycles. Yamaha said deliveries would begin in December, so shoppers should distinguish the announced model year from a dealer’s actual inventory date.
#1 Best Overall
- Engine Type: Single Cylinder, 4-Stroke, Air-Cooled, Fuel-Injected – Built for durability and consistent performance.
- Fuel System: Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) – Optimized fuel delivery for maximum efficiency.
- Transmission: 6-Speed Manual Sport Clutch – Seamless gear shifts for ultimate control.
- Brakes: Front & Rear Hydraulic Disc – Precision stopping power for enhanced safety.
- Weight: 295 lbs (Net) | 365 lbs (Gross) – Lightweight yet robust for peak performance.
2025 Yamaha MT-07: the middleweight naked-bike update
The $8,599 MT-07 is an all-new model rather than a carryover. Yamaha’s announced equipment includes YCC-T electronic throttle control, selectable ride modes, new upside-down forks, radial four-piston brakes and a 5-inch TFT instrument panel. It was announced for December 2024 availability. Those additions explain why the MT-07 should be compared on equipment and riding role, not only on its position above the R3 in the price list.
2025 Yamaha YZ250FX: competition equipment at $9,099
The YZ250FX costs $9,099, placing it between the MT-07 and R7 in the numerical ranking. It is not a street motorcycle: Yamaha describes it as a closed-course, cross-country competition bike. The 2025 redesign brings a new frame, intake changes, revised ECU settings and compatibility with Yamaha’s Power Tuner App. Registration, lighting and other street-use requirements should not be assumed from this price listing.
2025 Yamaha YZF-R7: unchanged 689cc supersport
At $9,199 MSRP, the YZF-R7 is only $100 above the YZ250FX in the ranking. Yamaha said the R7 returns unchanged and retains its 689cc CP2 engine. Its street-supersport role makes it a fundamentally different purchase from the off-road YZ250FX despite the nearly identical prices.
2025 Yamaha YZF-R9: the top-priced U.S. announcement
The all-new YZF-R9 is the most expensive motorcycle in the published U.S. list at $12,499 MSRP. It uses Yamaha’s CP3 platform and was scheduled to begin arriving at dealers in March. Yamaha announced three color choices: Team Yamaha Blue, Matte Raven Black, and Intensity White/Redline. The $12,499 figure is the U.S. MSRP stated in Yamaha’s announcement, not a final dealer invoice or an international price.

2025 Yamaha models named without a published U.S. price
Yamaha’s retrieved U.S. announcement also names the MT-03, Ténéré 700, XSR900 and TRACER 9 and describes updates or model information. That announcement does not publish an MSRP for those four motorcycles. They are therefore part of the announced 2025 U.S. lineup discussion, but they cannot be inserted into a price ranking responsibly.
- MT-03: named in the U.S. announcement; MSRP not stated there.
- Ténéré 700: named in the U.S. announcement; MSRP not stated there.
- XSR900: named in the U.S. announcement; MSRP not stated there.
- TRACER 9: named in the U.S. announcement; MSRP not stated there.
A missing figure is not evidence that one of these motorcycles is cheaper or more expensive than the five priced models. Country, trim, equipment and model-year pricing must be established before making that comparison.
Rank #4
- Entry-Level Sport Bike Design: The HHH Upgraded 250cc Motorcycle GTX 250 with EFI features a 6 speed manual transmission, hydraulic disc brakes (dual front), and 17-inch wheels with street tires
- Altitude Adaptability with EFI: Electronic Fuel Injection automatically compensates for changes in altitude by sensing air temperature and density, eliminating the need to manually adjust carburetors jetting at different elevations
- Enhanced Throttle Response: By delivering fuel directly into the combustion chamber in response to the rider's input, the EFI system eliminates throttle lag associated with carburetors, resulting in smoother and more instantaneous acceleration with dual front headlights and sporty styling
- Zongshen Engine with EFI Technology: HHH GTX 250 is powered by a Zongshen-brand engine and uses electronic fuel injection for better performance and fuel economy with high power output
- Easier Starting System: The EFI system optimizes fuel delivery for ambient conditions, ensuring reliable and easy engine starts, especially in cold weather, without the need for a manual choke
Additional 2025 Yamaha announcements for Japan
Yamaha also announced 2025 motorcycles for Japan. These models are kept separate because Japanese pricing, taxes, equipment specifications and release timing cannot be converted into a U.S.-dollar ranking without a stated exchange-rate and cost convention.

On March 14, 2025, Yamaha announced Japanese-market 2025 versions of the YZF-R1M ABS and YZF-R1 ABS. The announcement identifies winglets and revised suspension and brakes, along with Japanese release dates. Those are Japan-market announcements, not additional entries in the U.S. MSRP table.

Ténéré700 ABS
Yamaha’s Japanese announcement describes a 2025 Ténéré700 ABS with a 688cc twin-cylinder engine, YCC-T, ride modes, traction control and a 6.3-inch TFT display. Its Japanese-market status means its price and availability should be checked in that market rather than inferred from the U.S. Ténéré 700 listing.
MT-09 ABS and MT-09 Y-AMT ABS
For Japan, Yamaha announced new colors and Japanese release dates for the 888cc MT-09 ABS and MT-09 Y-AMT ABS road-sport models. They are not included in the U.S.-dollar ranking because the announcements concern a different market.
How to use the ranking when choosing a 2025 Yamaha
- For the lowest-priced street entry: start with the YZF-R3 at $5,499 MSRP.
- For a naked street bike with the most explicitly listed electronic and chassis updates: compare the all-new MT-07 at $8,599.
- For closed-course off-road competition: the YZ250FX is the relevant model, regardless of its position between the MT-07 and R7 on price.
- For a 689cc street supersport: the unchanged YZF-R7 is listed at $9,199.
- For Yamaha’s new CP3-based supersport: the YZF-R9 is listed at $12,499 and was scheduled for March arrivals.
Yamaha’s announcements provide model descriptions and MSRPs, but they do not provide one standardized independent performance test or a directly comparable statistic for all five motorcycles. Acceleration, lap times, fuel economy and operating costs should not be inferred from this price order.
