Honda currently identifies eight Honda-branded automobile nameplates as being built in the United States: the Accord, Civic Hatchback, CR-V, CR-V e:FCEV, Passport, Pilot, Odyssey, and Ridgeline. Their documented U.S. production is spread across five facilities in Ohio, Indiana, and Alabama. Hybrid variants of the Accord, Civic Hatchback, and CR-V are included, while the CR-V e:FCEV is a low-volume specialty vehicle.
Honda’s official U.S. manufacturing roster identifies the following Honda automobile products as being produced at American facilities. That means Honda identifies a U.S. plant as the production location; it does not mean the vehicle is made entirely from U.S.-sourced parts. Honda says its products use both domestic and globally sourced components.

The list also does not guarantee that every vehicle of a given model sold in the United States came from the same plant. Production can vary by model year, trim, powertrain, plant capacity, and regional allocation. For one specific vehicle, use its VIN and window sticker rather than relying only on the model name.

Honda’s U.S. automobile plants, model by model
Marysville Auto Plant: Accord and Accord Hybrid
Honda’s Marysville Auto Plant in Ohio has produced the Accord since November 1, 1982. Honda’s current manufacturing materials identify the plant as a production site for both the regular Accord and Accord Hybrid. The facility also performs hybrid-battery subassembly work.
Marysville is undergoing retooling intended to support flexible production of internal-combustion, hybrid, and electric vehicles. Honda has said EV production was planned to begin in 2026, but that capability statement should not be treated as proof that a particular Honda EV is currently assembled there. A named model belongs on this list only when Honda identifies that model’s production at the facility.
East Liberty Auto Plant: CR-V and CR-V Hybrid
Honda’s East Liberty Auto Plant in Ohio is listed for the CR-V and CR-V Hybrid. Honda describes East Liberty as a crossover and SUV plant and identifies it as the company’s second U.S. automobile production facility.
The plant is also part of Honda’s Ohio EV Hub retooling effort. That future-production work does not change the currently documented Honda list: for now, the Honda-branded products identified for East Liberty are the CR-V and CR-V Hybrid. East Liberty also produces Acura vehicles, including the RDX and MDX, but those Acura products are separate from the Honda list in this article.
Honda Indiana Auto Plant: Civic Hatchback and CR-V
The Honda Indiana Auto Plant in Greensburg produces the Civic Hatchback, Civic Hatchback Hybrid, CR-V, and CR-V Hybrid. Honda says Indiana began Civic Hatchback production in September 2021 and began CR-V production, including hybrid trims, in 2022.
Indiana is therefore one of two documented U.S. production locations for the CR-V and CR-V Hybrid. A buyer cannot reliably determine the assembly plant from the badge, trim name, or the fact that the vehicle was purchased in a particular state.
Performance Manufacturing Center: CR-V e:FCEV
Honda’s Performance Manufacturing Center in Marysville, Ohio, handles low-volume specialty production of the CR-V e:FCEV. This is a plug-in hydrogen fuel-cell vehicle, not a conventional high-volume CR-V variant built at the same scale as the gasoline or hybrid models.

Honda’s manufacturing booklet identifies the 2025 CR-V e:FCEV, while Honda’s current U.S. sales site also presents a 2026 CR-V e:FCEV. Because model-year documentation and availability are sensitive for this specialty vehicle, it is best described as a low-volume U.S.-produced CR-V fuel-cell model rather than as a broadly available mainstream Honda SUV.
Alabama Auto Plant: Passport, Pilot, Odyssey, and Ridgeline
Honda’s Alabama Auto Plant in Lincoln is the main U.S. hub for Honda trucks, SUVs, and minivans. It produces the Passport, Pilot, Odyssey, and Ridgeline. Honda identifies Alabama as the exclusive global production source for these four Honda light-truck lines: the Odyssey minivan, Pilot, Passport, and Ridgeline.
The facility also builds V6 engines used by those vehicles. Honda’s Alabama materials include TrailSport models in the plant’s production mix. A Honda announcement dated March 5, 2026, separately confirmed that the Passport TrailSport Elite is produced at the Alabama Auto Plant. TrailSport is a trim or variant designation, not an additional Honda nameplate that needs to be added to the main table.
What built in the U.S. does—and does not—mean
It identifies the vehicle’s production location, not its complete parts origin
For this article, built in the U.S. means Honda identifies an American facility as the place where the vehicle or product is manufactured. It is not the same as 100% American-made, all-American, or made entirely from domestic parts. Modern vehicles use complex supply chains, and Honda expressly distinguishes U.S. manufacturing from an exclusively domestic parts content claim.

The CR-V and CR-V Hybrid demonstrate why plant-level lists must be read carefully. Honda lists both East Liberty, Ohio, and Greensburg, Indiana, for those models. Other models can also change production arrangements as Honda updates plants, model years, and capacity. The table shows Honda’s documented production locations, not a guarantee about an individual vehicle.
It does not prove that every trim or powertrain is assembled there
A model-level production listing should not be expanded into a claim that every trim, engine, battery, or drivetrain configuration is U.S.-assembled. This is especially important for hybrid, fuel-cell, performance, and newly introduced variants. Match the model year and powertrain whenever the exact vehicle’s origin matters.
Other Honda products built in the United States
Honda’s U.S. manufacturing network extends well beyond automobiles. These products should be considered separately from the car, SUV, minivan, and pickup list.

| HondaJet Elite II | Honda Aircraft Company | Greensboro, North Carolina | Manufactured in Greensboro, which Honda describes as HondaJet’s global production headquarters. |
These facilities make Honda-branded powersports products and aircraft, but their inclusion should not be confused with automobile assembly. Honda’s U.S. footprint includes motorcycles and other products beyond the items documented in this particular manufacturing roster, so the table above is the relevant list for the product categories covered here rather than a claim that it represents every Honda product ever made in the country.
Honda models not automatically established as U.S.-built
Honda’s U.S. retail site displays a broader lineup than its current U.S. automobile manufacturing roster. Models such as the Civic Sedan, Civic Si, Civic Type R, HR-V, Prelude, and Prologue should not be added to the U.S.-built table without model-year- and plant-specific evidence from Honda.
This is a documentation boundary, not a claim that every excluded model is built in one particular foreign country. A sales listing proves that Honda offers a vehicle in the United States; it does not prove where Honda manufactures it.
The Prologue requires particular care. It appears on Honda’s U.S. sales site, but that retail presence alone does not establish U.S. manufacture. It should not be presented as U.S.-built unless Honda identifies a U.S. production facility for the relevant model year.
How to check where your specific Honda was assembled
- Start with the VIN. Use the VIN attached to the exact vehicle rather than a generic model description.
- Check the vehicle’s window sticker. The sticker and related vehicle-origin information are more useful than the dealership location or the model’s reputation.
- Match the details. Confirm the model year, body style, trim, engine, hybrid system, or fuel-cell system. A production location can vary within a model line.
- Ask the dealer to verify the VIN if the records are unclear. This is particularly worthwhile for a CR-V or CR-V Hybrid because Honda lists two U.S. assembly plants.
Do not try to infer assembly origin from the vehicle’s popularity, its design studio, the state where it was sold, or the presence of a Made in USA-style marketing phrase. Those clues do not replace VIN-level documentation.

Honda’s future U.S. production plans
Honda’s 2026 business briefing says the company intends to reallocate excess Ohio automobile-plant capacity toward gasoline and hybrid vehicles and make all of its North American automobile plants capable of producing hybrid models. Honda says next-generation hybrid models are expected to begin launching from 2027, with large-size hybrid models planned for North America in 2029.

Those are strategic and future-production plans, not evidence that a named future model is already being built in the United States. The same distinction applies to the Ohio EV Hub retooling and Marysville’s planned EV capability.
Honda also announced on March 12, 2026, that it canceled development and market launch of three EV models that had been planned for North American production: the Honda 0 SUV, Honda 0 Saloon, and Acura RSX. None should be listed as a current U.S.-built production vehicle. The cancellation does not establish that Honda will never produce an EV in North America; it establishes that these announced programs should not be treated as current production models.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Honda built in the U.S. contain only American parts?
No. Honda identifies the U.S. facility where the vehicle is produced, but Honda products use both domestic and globally sourced parts. U.S. assembly should not be rewritten as 100% American-made.
Are all Honda CR-V models built in Ohio?
No. Honda lists both the East Liberty Auto Plant in Ohio and the Honda Indiana Auto Plant in Greensburg, Indiana, for the CR-V and CR-V Hybrid. Check the individual vehicle’s VIN and window sticker for a unit-level answer.
Is the Honda Prologue built in the United States?
Its appearance on Honda’s U.S. sales site does not establish U.S. manufacture. It should not be called U.S.-built unless Honda identifies an American production facility for the relevant model year.
What is the best way to verify where a particular Honda was assembled?
Use the exact vehicle’s VIN and window sticker, then confirm the model year, trim, body style, and powertrain. A dealer can help verify the information if the available records are unclear.
The Bottom Line
Bottom line: The Honda automobiles currently documented as U.S.-built are the Accord, Accord Hybrid, Civic Hatchback, Civic Hatchback Hybrid, CR-V, CR-V Hybrid, CR-V e:FCEV, Passport, Pilot, Odyssey, and Ridgeline. The CR-V and CR-V Hybrid can come from either Ohio or Indiana, while the CR-V e:FCEV is low-volume specialty production in Marysville, Ohio. Honda also builds Pioneer and Talon side-by-sides, FourTrax and TRX ATVs, snow blowers, and the HondaJet Elite II in U.S. facilities. For any individual vehicle, the VIN and window sticker—not the model name alone—are the final check.
