As of October 8, 2026, Dodge lists one SUV in its current lineup: the 2026 Durango. The Hornet is a separate case: Dodge says its production is paused indefinitely, but some may remain at select dealers. That means shoppers can still check for leftover new Hornets, but the Hornet is not a currently produced 2026 model. Dodge’s current lineup and its Hornet page establish that distinction.
Which Dodge SUVs can you buy today?
Dodge’s 2026 lineup page lists the Durango as its SUV. It lists Charger variants separately as performance vehicles, not SUVs. The Durango is therefore the only SUV Dodge currently lists as part of its 2026 lineup. Check the Dodge lineup and Durango model page for current configurations; a lineup listing does not guarantee that a particular trim is in local stock.
2026 Dodge Durango
Dodge describes the Durango as a full-size SUV with available third-row seating. Its 2026 model page lists a starting MSRP of $38,995, as accessed October 8, 2026. That is a manufacturer-listed starting price, not a dealer quote: trim, equipment, destination, local offers and availability can affect the price a buyer encounters.
Dodge’s listed 2026 configurations include GT, GT HEMI V8, GT Plus, R/T 392 Launch Edition and SRT Hellcat variants. Their appearance on Dodge’s page does not mean every version is currently orderable or available nearby. Use Dodge’s lineup and shopping pages and confirm the specific vehicle, price and equipment with a dealer.

Hornet: possible leftover inventory, not a current-production model
Dodge says: “Production of the Dodge Hornet has been paused indefinitely to make way for new additions to the Dodge Brand lineup, however, the Hornet may be available at select dealers.” This statement on Dodge’s Hornet page means availability depends on remaining dealer stock. Ask whether a listing is for unsold new inventory or a used vehicle, and verify its model year and condition.
What kind of SUV is the Durango?
Dodge identifies the Durango as a full-size SUV, not a midsize one. It has available third-row seating, and Dodge says it offers more than 50 seating configurations and up to 85.1 cubic feet of cargo capacity. How to compare Durango trims and engines
Start with the job the SUV needs to do, then verify that the exact combination is available for the 2026 model year and in your market. Dodge’s published pages show multiple trim and engine choices, but they do not present fully consistent timing for one V8 option.
Powertrains and the 6.4L availability discrepancy
Dodge’s Durango FAQ names the 3.6L Pentastar V6, 5.7L HEMI V8 and supercharged 6.2L HEMI V8 as available, and says the 6.4L HEMI V8 is “coming soon.” However, Dodge’s 2026 Durango performance page says the 6.4L is now available on R/T 392 models. Because the official pages conflict, do not assume the 6.4L can be ordered in a particular configuration: check Dodge’s live listings or ask a dealer to confirm orderability.

Dodge’s performance page lists 710 horsepower and 645 lb-ft for the supercharged 6.2L HEMI V8. These are manufacturer figures for that engine, not independent measurements. Match an engine to the trim and vehicle you are actually considering rather than assuming the same powertrain is offered across the range.
Seating, cargo and towing
Use the Durango’s three-row availability and cargo flexibility as a practical comparison point: decide how often you need the third row occupied and how much room you need with seats folded or raised. Dodge advertises towing of up to 8,700 lb for properly equipped configurations. That is a maximum, not a rating that applies to every Durango. Confirm the rating for the specific engine and equipment, along with the towing requirements for your trailer, in current vehicle documentation or with the dealer. Fuel and safety equipment
Dodge says fuel requirements depend on the engine and model; check the Durango FAQ and the specific vehicle’s documentation rather than assuming one fuel grade applies to the whole lineup. The FAQ distinguishes standard from available driver-assistance features. It also reports a four-star overall NHTSA safety rating for the 2025 Durango; that is a 2025 rating, not a 2026 rating. Consult the Dodge Durango FAQ for those details and verify equipment on the trim you are shopping.

What to verify before buying
- Confirm the model year and status. For a Durango, check the exact 2026 trim and whether it is in stock or orderable. For a Hornet, ask whether the vehicle is leftover new inventory or used.
- Get the full vehicle price. Treat Dodge’s $38,995 starting MSRP as a starting point, then request the price for the selected trim and equipment, including destination and dealer charges.
- Verify the engine and equipment. This is especially important if you want the 6.4L HEMI, given the conflicting availability language on Dodge’s pages.
- Match the vehicle to your needs. Check the seat configuration and cargo space you will actually use, and confirm the towing rating for that precise configuration if you plan to tow.
