The ENVGO NV1 is a six-seat electric boat designed to rise above the water on submerged hydrofoils—not an aircraft. ENVGO claims a top speed of 80 km/h (about 50 mph) and a range of up to 100 km, but those figures have not been independently verified in the sources available. The roughly US$400,000 price reported in 2025 was for a starting price or prototype, not a confirmed current MSRP.
What is the ENVGO NV1?
ENVGO describes the NV1 as a 25-foot electric hydrofoil with seating for six, including the pilot, retractable foils and two electric motors. At speed, the submerged foils generate lift that raises the hull above the water. The boat remains in contact with the water through its foils; “flying” is a metaphor for hydrofoiling, not literal flight.
ENVGO’s March 2026 Palm Beach page lists an 8.5-foot beam, 32-inch draft with the foils retracted and 60-inch static draft with the foils deployed. These dimensions describe different foil positions, so the deployed figure matters when considering shallow-water access or a berth. ENVGO’s Palm Beach page
How fast and how far can it go?
The figures vary by source and date, and the published material does not specify standardized test conditions such as passenger load, water state, weather or the speed used to achieve the stated range.

- Ride Sensor Capable (Performance Board) - The Evo is equipped with ride sensor technology, and will have the ability to assist the rider with stability through throttle adjustment
| Source and date | Published performance figures |
|---|---|
| ENVGO, August 2026 | Up to 80 km/h (about 50 mph), up to 100 km range and up to 330 hp. Manufacturer claims; independent validation and operating conditions are not provided. ENVGO article |
| Electrive, May 2025 | 43 knots top speed and 40.7 km/h cruising speed. The report does not provide test conditions. Electrive report |
| ENVGO, 2024 | Up to 50 mph and 80 miles of range. Historical manufacturer-published figures; conditions are not specified. ENVGO launch announcement |
The 2026 company article also says active controls adjust the foils more than 50 times per second, using an IMU, GPS, radar, sonar and six cameras. ENVGO’s 2024 launch announcement instead said 250 foil adjustments per second. The sources do not explain the difference, so neither figure should be treated as a reconciled specification.
What are the published battery and motor specifications?
Electrive’s May 2025 report lists an 80-kWh battery and two motors rated at 125 kW continuous and 245 kW peak. ENVGO’s August 2026 article gives a figure of up to 330 hp. The sources do not establish whether these figures use the same rating convention or refer to the same configuration, so they should not be compared as equivalent power ratings.

Does the NV1 really cost $400,000?
US$400,000 is a historical reported figure, not a confirmed current price. Electrive reported a starting price of US$400,000 in May 2025. In October 2025, CHCH News described the demonstrated prototype as costing around $400,000 and reported that ENVGO expected a significant reduction at full production. That expectation is not a current production-price commitment. Electrive’s price report; CHCH News coverage
The reviewed public sources do not provide a current official price schedule, confirmed order terms, warranty, financing terms or delivery timetable. A prospective buyer would need those details directly from ENVGO before treating the historical figure as a purchase quote.

ENVGO’s March 2026 pages promoted a Founders Edition and invited requests for sea trials scheduled for March 31 through April 2, 2026. Those dates have passed. The promotion demonstrates that ENVGO was presenting the boat and soliciting trial interest; it does not establish current production status or confirm that customer deliveries are available. What should a buyer verify before comparing it with other boats?
Top speed alone does not show how useful a hydrofoil boat will be for a particular trip. Before evaluating the NV1 against another electric boat or hydrofoil, ask for comparable, documented information:
- Range at a stated passenger load, speed and set of water and weather conditions.
- Whether the quoted speed is cruising speed or maximum speed, and how it affects range.
- Battery capacity, charging method and charging time.
- Foil deployment, draft in each configuration and restrictions on operating in shallow water.
- Confirmed production availability, delivery timing, warranty and support arrangements.
- A written, current price and the costs included in that quote.
The available NV1 specifications do not establish standardized range conditions or current purchase and support terms. No independently verified performance test is reported in the cited coverage.
