The Exeed E08 was an electric MPV concept, not a production car. It drew attention at Auto China in April 2024 for unusually wide-opening front doors and large sliding side doors aimed at making third-row access easier. Although a 2024 report suggested production might follow, two automotive outlets reported in August 2025 that Chery had discontinued the E08 project. The reported Luxeed MPV effort is a separate development, not a launched E08.
What was the Exeed E08?
Chery’s Exeed brand presented the E08 as an electric MPV concept at Auto China in Beijing in April 2024. New Atlas reported a concept length of 5.2 metres (17 feet); paultan.org described it as more than five metres long. Those are reported dimensions for the concept, not verified specifications for a production vehicle. New Atlas · paultan.org
What made its doors unusual?
Wide-opening front doors
The front doors were presented as opening especially wide, creating a broad opening for getting in and out. The concept’s design was described as having “ultra-wide” openings, but the available reporting does not provide a measured opening width or a technical explanation of the door mechanism. paultan.org
Large sliding side doors and third-row access
The E08 also had large sliding side doors. Chery’s stated design intent, as reported by paultan.org, was to enable direct access to the third row. This describes the intended benefit, not a demonstrated access test or a confirmed production feature. paultan.org

Concept details were not demonstrated
New Atlas reported that Chery did not explain the door technologies and that their functionality was not demonstrated to the press. The doors should therefore be understood as striking concept-design features, not independently tested mechanisms or evidence of production-ready automation. New Atlas also described a transforming rear platform, but the available account does not establish that feature as a production system. New Atlas
Was the Exeed E08 headed for production?
In April 2024, New Atlas reported an E0X-platform connection and a rumor that the E08 might enter production later that year. That was an expectation reported at the time, not confirmation of a launch. The production suggestion did not establish final specifications, a retail price, or a sales date. New Atlas

On 6 August 2025, CarNewsChina and CnEVPost reported that Chery had discontinued the E08 project and reassigned some development staff to a Luxeed MPV effort. This is secondary reporting; it should not be mistaken for a new company announcement or for confirmation that the E08 itself reached production. CarNewsChina · CnEVPost
A Chery annual-report filing excerpt hosted by HKEX and dated 18 March 2026 describes EXEED/EXLANTIX sedans and SUVs and LUXEED S7 and R7 models, but does not mention the E08. That excerpt does not independently confirm the reported discontinuation. HKEX filing excerpt

How should the reported Luxeed MPV be understood?
The August 2025 reports describe a Luxeed MPV effort connected to a shift in Chery’s development work. They do not establish that the Luxeed vehicle is the E08 under a new name, nor do they confirm that it shares the E08’s doors, dimensions, platform, price, or other specifications. Treat it as a separately reported project unless Chery provides details establishing otherwise.
