Pakistan has very few documented electric MPVs. The clearest reported example is the premium ZEEKR 009, which PakWheels listed as launched on September 29, 2025, at Rs 48,999,000. That figure is a launch-price report, not a confirmed October 2026 quotation or proof of dealer stock. A five-seat Nora EV Metro has also appeared in October 2026 reporting, but the same report says buyers should wait for an official launch.
If your priority is affordable seven-seat transport, the officially listed Changan Karvaan is a more established alternative at PKR 3,149,000 or PKR 3,349,000, depending on variant, but it has a 1.2-litre petrol engine. Buyers committed to electric power must instead consider crossovers and SUVs such as the GAC Aion V, BYD Atto 3, Omoda E5 and Jaecoo J6, then verify whether their rear seats, luggage area, charging access and ground clearance suit the family’s real routes.

What the Pakistani electric-MPV market actually offers
An MPV is defined by usable people-carrying space, usually with three rows and a cabin designed around passengers and luggage. An electric crossover or SUV may have a tall body and a large boot, but that does not make it a replacement for a genuine seven-seat MPV. In Pakistan, the documented electric-MPV field is narrow enough that buyers should separate three different decisions:
- Do you need three rows and seven usable seats?
- Do you require electric propulsion, regardless of price?
- Is your budget closer to an affordable petrol van than to a premium imported EV?
The answer changes the shortlist. The ZEEKR 009 is the strongest documented electric-MPV example in current market reporting, but its reported launch price places it in a premium bracket. The Karvaan addresses low-cost family carrying capacity but is not electric. The other electric choices identified in Pakistan’s EV buying guide are crossovers or SUVs, so their third-row and cargo practicality must be checked rather than assumed.

The PakWheels guide’s prices are approximate as of September 28, 2026. It says they exclude freight, registration, taxes and other on-road charges, and that variants, promotions and delivery status can change the final amount. Treat every guide figure as a starting point until an authorised seller provides a written, itemised quotation.
ZEEKR 009: the clearest documented electric MPV
What is established
PakWheels’ 2025 launch roundup reported that the ZEEKR 009 launched in Pakistan on September 29, 2025, with a reported price of Rs 48,999,000. It is described as a premium electric MPV. This makes it the most clearly documented electric-MPV example in the material available for Pakistan.
What the launch figure does not prove
A launch-price article is not a current dealer quote. It does not establish that the same price remains valid in October 2026, that a particular configuration is in stock, or that every advertised feature is covered by local warranty and service arrangements. Before treating the 009 as a purchase option, ask an authorised seller for:

- Battery, charging and connector details for the locally supplied vehicle.
- Written warranty terms covering the vehicle, high-voltage battery and charging equipment.
- Service locations, parts lead times and roadside support in your city.
- Delivery timing and the consequences if the quoted configuration is unavailable.
At this price level, a buyer should compare the cost of the vehicle, home electrical work, registration, insurance, taxes and any charging equipment as one project rather than relying on the headline launch number.
Nora EV Metro: an electric possibility, not a confirmed choice
An October 2026 report describes the Nora EV Metro as a five-seat electric minivan. The report itself tells readers to watch for an official launch. That qualification is important: a media description is not confirmation of retail availability, final specification, local homologation, warranty or price.

For a family seeking seven seats, the reported five-seat layout also makes the Metro a different proposition from a three-row MPV. It could suit buyers who need five seats and electric operation, but no purchase decision should be made until an official announcement identifies the selling entity, specification, delivery channel, support network and final price.
Changan Karvaan: the practical low-price seating alternative
What it provides
Changan Pakistan’s official Karvaan page lists 6+1 seating and a 1.2-litre petrol engine. It displays PKR 3,149,000 and PKR 3,349,000 for two variants. Those figures are substantially below the reported ZEEKR 009 launch price, making the Karvaan relevant for families whose first requirement is carrying people on a budget.

Why it is not an electric substitute
The Karvaan burns petrol. It does not provide electric driving, home charging or the operating characteristics of a battery vehicle. Compare it with an electric MPV only as a seating-and-budget alternative, not as an EV. Confirm the displayed prices with Changan or a dealer because manufacturer prices, taxes and delivery charges can change.
Questions to ask before choosing it
- Can all six passenger positions plus the driver accommodate your normal adults and child seats?
- How much luggage remains when the rear seating is occupied?
- Is the quoted vehicle available in your city, and what is included in the on-road price?
- What warranty and service support are offered locally?
Electric crossover and SUV alternatives
Pakistan’s September 28, 2026 EV buying guide includes the GAC Aion V, BYD Atto 3, Omoda E5 and Jaecoo J6 among family-sized electric crossovers and SUVs. They broaden the electric choice, but none should be treated as an automatic seven-seat MPV replacement. The cited material does not establish a third row for these vehicles, and equipment can vary by market and variant.
GAC Aion V
Consider it when you want a family-oriented electric body style and can work with the locally supplied seating arrangement. Sit in the back seat with the front seat set for the tallest regular occupant, then load the luggage you normally carry. Confirm the exact version, ground clearance, charging equipment and dealer support before comparing it with a van.

BYD Atto 3
The Atto 3 is an electric crossover rather than a documented MPV. It may suit a smaller family that values an EV but does not require a third row. Verify whether your child seats, passengers and weekly luggage fit without using the front seats in an uncomfortable position.

The E5 belongs to the same practical comparison set. Treat its guide listing as an indication that it is part of the electric market, not as proof of a particular local price, delivery date or seating capacity. Inspect the rear bench, boot opening and charging access in person.
Jaecoo J6
The J6 is another electric SUV alternative. Ask the seller to demonstrate the exact local configuration, including the number of seats and the space available behind them. An SUV’s tall roof does not guarantee the inward width, knee room or cargo flexibility of an MPV.
How to decide: the seven checks that matter
1. Count usable seats, not brochure seats
Write down the people who travel together most often, including children who use safety seats. Test every position simultaneously. A nominal third row is not useful if adults cannot sit there, if access requires removing a child seat, or if there is no room for the family’s bags.
2. Measure cargo with all passengers aboard
Bring the pram, school bags, groceries or work equipment you actually carry. Place them behind the last row. If the load area is too small, ask whether seats fold, slide or can be removed without tools. Do not rely on a maximum boot figure measured with seats folded.

3. Demand a complete on-road quote
Ask for a written breakdown covering the vehicle, freight, registration, taxes, documentation, insurance if applicable, accessories and delivery. The EV guide specifically excludes freight, registration, taxes and other on-road costs from its approximate prices. Compare totals, not advertised starting numbers.
4. Match charging to your daily routine
Confirm where the vehicle will charge overnight and during long trips. Ask the vehicle maker for the connector standard, maximum AC charging rate, supplied cable and onboard-charger limit. A qualified installer should assess your electrical supply, earthing, protection, cable route and load before fitting an electric-vehicle home charger. No single charger specification should be assumed for every EV sold in Pakistan.
5. Check route and ground-clearance suitability
Drive the roads you use: steep ramps, broken surfaces, speed breakers, narrow streets and flooding-prone sections. Confirm clearance with the vehicle loaded, because passengers and luggage reduce available space under the body. A vehicle that works on a smooth showroom route may be inconvenient on your daily roads.
6. Verify support in your own city
Ask for the nearest authorised workshop, battery diagnostic capability, parts availability, technician training and roadside procedure. Obtain warranty exclusions in writing, especially for the high-voltage battery, charging hardware and water or accident damage.

Match the quotation to the vehicle identification number or an official order specification where possible. Check model year, seating configuration, charging accessories, software features and delivery date. For a model reported in the media but not officially launched, do not pay a deposit until the seller can document the legal sales and support arrangement.

Charging infrastructure and national policy
The Government of Pakistan’s June 19, 2025 Press Information Department announcement on the National Electric Vehicle Policy 2025–30 set a target for electric vehicles to represent 30% of new vehicles sold by 2030. It also described plans for 40 new motorway charging stations, averaging 105 km apart, and integration of EV charging in new building codes.
These are policy targets and plans, not evidence that the 30% share has already been achieved or that every planned motorway station is operating. A buyer should therefore design a charging routine that works with home or workplace charging first, and treat public motorway coverage as useful but requiring route-by-route verification.
A Ministry of Industries and Production document labelled as a draft policy paper provides historical context, including two electric-car assembly licences issued by December 2024 and discussion of earlier 2019 targets. Because it is a draft and predates the announced 2025–30 policy, it should not be used as a current list of available models, final policy text or proof of present market capacity.

- Equating “SUV” with “seven seats.” Confirm the actual seating layout and passenger space.
- Using a launch price as a current transaction price. Obtain a dated, itemised dealer quotation.
- Ignoring non-vehicle costs. Freight, registration, taxes, installation and insurance can materially change the budget.
- Assuming a planned charger exists. Verify that a station is operating and compatible before relying on it for a trip.
- Buying an unconfirmed launch. Wait for official sales, warranty and service information for emerging models.
- Choosing on range claims alone. Seat comfort, luggage space, clearance and charging convenience determine whether a family vehicle works every day.

The right answer is not necessarily the vehicle with the most seats on a specification sheet. It is the one that carries your usual passengers and luggage, can be charged where you live, survives your routes, and comes with support you can reach. In Pakistan’s current market, buyers who insist on all three requirements—electric propulsion, genuine MPV practicality and a confirmed retail channel—have a much shorter list than buyers willing to compromise on one of them.
