New Atlas reported the same two base prices on December 7, 2025, as launch pricing. Options are additions, not equipment included on every Unit-1. The maker’s solar-ready wiring and optional panel do not, on their own, establish what other power equipment a particular build includes.
Unit-1 dimensions, weight, and equipment
Ecno Evil lists a 2,000-pound gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) and 14 inches of ground clearance for both sizes. The specifications below are from the manufacturer’s product page, accessed October 8, 2026.

Both versions list 205/75/R15 tires, a custom aluminum tube chassis, Timbren 2,000-pound axle-less suspension, a two-inch ball coupler, a lockable side door, a window, two lockable rear doors, a 110-volt inlet, solar-ready MC4 prewiring, and a two-inch rear receiver. The product page does not give a payload figure in the cited specifications; the difference between GVWR and dry weight should not be treated as a definitive usable-payload allowance without confirming how the trailer’s actual build and options affect loaded weight.
What is the cabin made of, and how strong is it?
The cabin is made from welded high-density polyethylene (HDPE), attached to an aluminum tube chassis. Ecno Evil says the cabin is reinforced with structural screws. Because the cabin is wood-free, wood rot is not a body-material failure mode; that does not establish a quantified service life or eliminate other possible wear and damage.

It also noted that some edge trim appeared compressed in the footage. This is a manufacturer demonstration reported by a publication, not an independent or standardized durability test. The available sources do not establish a defined impact energy, controlled protocol, independent lab results, or third-party durability certification.
Ecno Evil describes the cabin as impact-resistant and offers a lifetime warranty for it. Those statements should be read alongside the actual warranty terms and exclusions; the word “lifetime” alone does not specify what is covered, for whom, or under what conditions. New Atlas reported Ecno Evil’s motto as “rugged is not a look; it’s a test.” The motto is not evidence of a standards-based test result.

Can your vehicle tow a Unit-1?
Ecno Evil says the trailer can be towed by many compact SUVs and crossovers and some sedans, but that broad description cannot confirm compatibility with a particular vehicle. Compare the tow vehicle’s rated towing capacity, payload, hitch and tongue-weight limits with the trailer’s actual loaded weight and the vehicle manufacturer’s guidance. The cited sources do not provide vehicle-specific matches.
Dry weight is not the weight of a ready-to-camp trailer. Added options and cargo increase the load, and the 2,000-pound GVWR is the manufacturer-listed maximum gross trailer weight. Before towing, verify the weight and limits for the specific trailer and vehicle rather than relying on the model name or an unladen figure alone.
Is the Unit-1 a good fit?
The Unit-1’s appeal is its relatively simple job: carry a small sleeping cabin and gear without the size and systems of a full RV. The 4 x 8-foot version is the lighter, narrower, lower-priced choice; the 5 x 8-foot version adds cabin width, exterior width, and 100 pounds of listed dry weight for $2,500 more at the displayed base prices. Neither size removes the need to assess tow capacity or supply any camping equipment not included with the chosen build.
- It may suit you if you already own camping equipment, want a dedicated sleeping space, and value a wood-free cabin and separate exterior-access gear storage.
- It may not suit you if you expect an integrated kitchen, bathroom, water system, or onboard heating and air conditioning, or want a trailer whose independent durability performance has been documented in standardized testing.
Ecno Evil’s order page showed a two-week estimated lead time on January 23, 2026, while noting that timing can vary with parts availability and production schedules. That dated estimate does not establish current delivery timing; confirm availability and the expected build schedule directly with the manufacturer.
