BoostedSafe is a lockable vehicle safe designed to attach to compatible rear-seat LATCH or ISOFIX anchors. Its booster-seat-style cover is meant to help it blend into the rear-seat area—but it is a safe, not a child booster seat. Because fit depends on the vehicle’s year, make, model, trim, and seating layout, check the manufacturer’s current fit information before ordering.
What BoostedSafe is—and what it is not
The name can invite a dangerous misunderstanding: BoostedSafe is not a seat for a child. It is a vehicle safe that uses a cover styled to resemble a booster seat. Do not put a child on it or use it to position or restrain a child.
For an actual child booster seat, follow the restraint and vehicle manufacturers’ instructions. The American Academy of Pediatrics says the lap belt should lie low and snug across the upper thighs, while the shoulder belt should cross the chest and shoulder. That guidance applies to child restraints, not BoostedSafe: HealthyChildren.org’s car seat checkup.
How the current Basic model works
The manufacturer describes Basic as a mechanical vehicle safe with a manual combination lock and a backup key. It includes customizable foam and is designed to connect to compatible rear-seat LATCH or ISOFIX anchors. The cover is intended to help the safe blend into the rear-seat area. The page also names an Elite model, but its available information does not establish a complete feature-by-feature comparison. Do not assume that the current lineup or specifications are identical to those reported when the original product was introduced in 2022.
Will it fit your car?
Not necessarily. BoostedSafe says compatibility varies with vehicle year, make, model, trim, and seating layout. The maker says the relevant anchor points are usually in the crease between the rear seat back and bottom, but the presence or location of anchors alone does not establish that a particular vehicle is compatible.

- Follow the manufacturer’s installation directions for the compatible anchor points. Do not assume that a different mounting point or an apparently similar seat layout will work.
What is known about size, weight, and testing
New Atlas reported on November 15, 2022, that the original Boosted Safe weighed 15 lb (6.8 kg). The same historical report described powder-coated 16-gauge steel, foam padding, a three-digit combination lock, dimensions of 16 × 13.75 × 4.35 inches (406 × 349 × 110 mm), and sliding latches engaging vehicle ISOFIX points. These are specifications reported for the original product in 2022—not confirmed specifications for current Basic or Elite models. Read the 2022 New Atlas report in that historical context.
The available information does not establish an independent test result, published safety rating, or regulator finding for the current product. New Atlas attributed a crash-force-resistance statement to inventor Skyler Baird in 2022; that is an inventor’s claim, not evidence of an independently verified test. Do not treat the appearance of a child seat or a claim about crash forces as proof of theft protection or crash performance.
