There is no single winner between the E3 Trion and Lectrix LXS 3.0 because E3 sells the Trion in three materially different configurations. The 2.3 kWh Trion has a removable battery and a 108 km IDC claim; the 3.0 kWh high-range version claims 165 km IDC; and the 3.0 kWh high-performance version claims 128 km IDC. Lectrix’s current booking page lists the LXS 3.0 at ₹1,04,990, with a 3.0 kWh battery and a claimed 120 km range.
Choose only after identifying the exact Trion variant, separating manufacturer range claims from real-world distance, and obtaining a written on-road quote and warranty for your city. The available published figures are not an independent head-to-head test, and E3’s battery-warranty wording requires clarification.

What the comparison actually covers
“E3 Trion” is not one fixed specification. E3’s product material describes three configurations with different battery capacities and range positioning. Comparing the longest-range Trion with the LXS 3.0 is a different purchase decision from comparing the removable-battery Trion. Always put the variant name, battery size and quoted price on the same document before paying a booking amount.
The Lectrix model is also referred to as “LXS G3.0” in an older brochure and “LXS 3.0” on the current booking page. Those labels appear related, but the brochure figures should not automatically be treated as the specifications of the current booking-page vehicle.

E3 Trion variants: identify yours first
| E3 configuration described by the manufacturer | Battery capacity | Battery removability | Manufacturer-stated IDC range | How to interpret it |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2.3 kWh Trion | 2.3 kWh | Removable battery | 108 km | Most useful when you need to carry the battery indoors for charging; the claim is the shortest of the three. |
| 3.0 kWh high-range Trion | 3.0 kWh | Not stated in the published material | 165 km | Highest claimed distance, but current price, charging details and city availability must be confirmed. |
| 3.0 kWh high-performance Trion | 3.0 kWh | Not stated in the published material | 128 km | Positioned for performance rather than the maximum stated range; obtain the exact motor and speed specification for the vehicle being booked. |
All three distances are manufacturer claims measured on an IDC basis, not independently verified road-range results. IDC figures are useful for comparing the manufacturer’s own positioning, but they do not guarantee the kilometres you will obtain in traffic. Rider weight, speed, gradients, tyre pressure, temperature, payload, stop-and-go riding and battery age can all change the result.
Do not assume that the 165 km version is simply the same scooter with software changed, or that every 3.0 kWh Trion has a removable pack. The published material identifies removability only for the 2.3 kWh configuration.
Price: the published numbers are not equivalent
| Model and source | Displayed price | Price basis and date | What is still unknown |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lectrix LXS 3.0, official booking page | ₹1,04,990 | Booking-page offer checked 13 October 2026; not confirmed as an all-city on-road total | City-specific registration, insurance, taxes, accessories, finance charges and current stock |
| Lectrix LXS 3.0, HT Auto comparison | ₹1.02 lakh | Third-party comparison figure crawled roughly two months before the supplied comparison; not a current manufacturer-confirmed price | Whether it was ex-showroom, introductory or otherwise conditional |
| E3 Trion, HT Auto comparison | ₹99,999 | Third-party comparison figure; not a current official E3 price | Exact Trion variant, city, price basis and current availability |
| E3 Trion, current official price | Not stated in the available manufacturer-page result | No current official figure was captured | Variant-specific ex-showroom and on-road prices must be obtained from E3 |
The ₹1,04,990 Lectrix figure is the strongest current price reference in the available material because it appears on the company’s booking page, but it is still a booking-page offer rather than a guarantee of what every buyer will pay on the road. The two HT Auto figures should be treated as historical comparison-page numbers, not as evidence that the Trion is currently cheaper or that the LXS 3.0 costs exactly ₹1.02 lakh.

Ask both companies for a written quotation that separates ex-showroom price, registration, insurance, subsidy treatment if applicable, accessories, delivery charges, financing and any temporary offer. A lower headline price can disappear when these lines are added, while a refundable booking amount is not the same as the final purchase price.
Published specification comparison
The table below keeps manufacturer, brochure and third-party figures separate. “Not stated” means the available material does not establish a value; it is not an invitation to estimate.
| Specification | E3 Trion information | Lectrix LXS 3.0 information | Confidence and caveat |
|---|---|---|---|
| Battery capacity | 2.3 kWh removable configuration; 3.0 kWh high-range and high-performance configurations | 3.0 kWh | E3 values come from the manufacturer’s variant descriptions. Lectrix’s 3.0 kWh value appears in the current booking label and older brochure. |
| Battery chemistry | Not stated in the available E3 material | Lithium-ion LFP in the brochure | The brochure is older; confirm the chemistry of the current production model. |
| Removability | Removable only for the described 2.3 kWh version; not stated for either 3.0 kWh version | Not stated in the available material | Do not infer removability from battery capacity or model name. |
| Claimed IDC range | 108 km, 165 km or 128 km depending on configuration | 120 km on the current booking page; 115 km in the older LXS G3.0 brochure | The Lectrix figures conflict by source and date. Neither brand’s number is an independent road test. |
| Charging time | Not stated by E3 in the available product information. HT Auto lists 2 hours 30 minutes to 80% for a Trion entry, but does not reconcile it with all three E3 variants. | Four hours in the older brochure | Confirm charger type, charge level covered by the time and current model revision before relying on either figure. |
| Motor output | HT Auto lists 2.5 kW for its Trion comparison entry; variant-specific official output was not established | 1,500 W rated and 2,200 W peak in the brochure | These are not directly comparable measurements because the E3 figure is third-party and the Lectrix figures are brochure specifications. |
| Top speed | Not stated in the available official material | 60 km/h in Power mode in the brochure | Verify the speed setting and current homologated specification. |
| Under-seat storage | HT Auto lists 52 litres for its Trion entry | Not stated in the available material | The third-party Trion figure may not apply identically to all configurations. |
| Braking and chassis details | Not stated in the available official material | CBS, front and rear drum brakes, 108 kg kerb weight with battery and 12-degree gradeability in the brochure | Older brochure data needs confirmation against the scooter offered to you. |
Range: 165 km is a claim, not a daily promise
If your only criterion is the highest published IDC number, the 3.0 kWh high-range Trion leads on paper at 165 km. That does not establish that it will travel 45 km farther than the LXS 3.0’s 120 km booking-page claim in your commute. The LXS brochure’s 115 km figure also shows why the source and date matter: one Lectrix page says 120 km, while an older document says 115 km.
For a useful buying estimate, map your actual routine rather than multiplying the IDC figure. Record the round-trip distance, the longest stretch without charging, typical traffic speed, hills, passenger use and whether you can charge at work. Keep a reserve for weather and detours. A scooter that meets your weekday distance with a comfortable margin is generally more useful than one with a larger laboratory claim but uncertain charging access.
Ask the dealer to identify which range figure applies to the exact vehicle identification or booking variant. Have them state whether the quoted range assumes a particular riding mode, payload, speed or battery state. If the answer is only “up to” a number, record it as a best-case claim.
Battery and charging decisions
When the removable Trion battery matters
The 2.3 kWh Trion is the only E3 configuration explicitly described with a removable battery. That can solve a practical problem for apartment residents or anyone without a socket near a parking space: the pack can be carried to an approved indoor charging location. Check the battery’s weight, lifting procedure, storage temperature, charging surface and whether the warranty requires use of the supplied charger. Those details are not supplied in the published comparison and should be confirmed before ordering.

When a fixed battery may be acceptable
The LXS 3.0’s removability is not established in the available material, and E3 does not state removability for its two 3.0 kWh versions. Treat all three as requiring a charging plan until the manufacturer confirms otherwise. Measure the distance from your parking place to a safe electrical outlet and ask whether an extension lead is permitted. Four-hour charging in the older Lectrix brochure is useful for planning only after the company confirms that it applies to the current scooter and specifies whether it means empty-to-full or another charging window.
Do not compare charging times without their endpoints
“Two hours 30 minutes to 80%” and “four hours” describe different things. The former is a third-party Trion entry and stops at 80%; the latter is an older Lectrix brochure figure with no charging percentage stated in the available material. Request the time from the manufacturer’s stated starting state to the stated ending state, the charger’s input rating and the conditions under which the time was measured.
Motor performance and equipment
The older LXS G3.0 brochure provides the clearest performance detail: a hub BLDC motor, 1,500 W rated output, 2,200 W peak output, 110 Nm maximum torque at 52 rpm, a field-oriented-control controller and a 60 km/h Power-mode speed. It also lists 12-degree gradeability, CBS and front and rear drum brakes. Because the brochure appears several years old, use those numbers as a discussion starting point, not a guarantee that every current LXS 3.0 has identical hardware.
For E3, the available manufacturer material distinguishes high-range and high-performance Trion configurations but does not provide a complete, variant-specific motor table. HT Auto lists 2.5 kW for its Trion comparison entry. That figure cannot by itself tell you which of the three configurations you are buying, nor can it be compared directly with Lectrix’s rated and peak figures without knowing the measurement method.
During a test ride, check low-speed balance, throttle smoothness, braking feel with and without a passenger, hill starts, steering effort, suspension over broken surfaces and the practicality of the riding modes. Ask whether the displayed top speed is available in the mode you will normally use and whether changing modes alters the range estimate.
Warranty: E3 requires written clarification
E3 presents two different battery-warranty messages. Its product page advertises an “8 years” and “1 lakh km” headline, while the detailed warranty policy states five years or 75,000 km, whichever comes first. Those terms cannot be treated as one unqualified promise.

Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteBefore paying for any Trion variant, request the applicable warranty document by email or in the booking paperwork. Ask four specific questions:
- Which term applies to the exact battery capacity and variant: eight years/100,000 km or five years/75,000 km?
- Does the limit cover the complete battery, usable capacity degradation, or only particular components?
- Which event ends coverage first, and how are kilometres recorded?
- What maintenance, charger, software, accident, water-ingress and unauthorised-repair exclusions apply?
Do not advertise or budget around the eight-year/100,000-km statement until E3 reconciles it with the detailed policy for your booking. The available Lectrix material does not establish a current battery-warranty term, so obtain that document from Lectrix rather than assuming it matches E3 or the older brochure.

E3 describes more than 100 connected features, an AI health scan, roadside assistance, smart-charging control, real-time diagnostics and a smartphone companion feature. These are manufacturer feature descriptions, not an independent assessment of reliability or subscription-free operation. Ask whether every feature is included in the purchased trim, which functions require mobile data, what happens when connectivity is lost and how long the service is included.

The available LXS material establishes hardware and riding specifications but does not provide an equivalent current list of connected functions. Ask the dealer to demonstrate the companion application, navigation or tracking functions you actually need and to state any activation, data or renewal cost. A longer feature list is valuable only if the functions work in your city and remain available after the initial ownership period.
Booking, delivery and local support
E3 says its reservation token is fully refundable and that delivery depends on city and variant. Lectrix says its booking amount is refundable and that delivery depends on model and colour. These statements do not guarantee an immediate refund or a fixed delivery date; the checkout terms control the transaction.
Before booking, save a copy of the checkout page, refund conditions, promised accessories, tax treatment and estimated delivery window. Ask who handles registration, where the scooter will be serviced, whether a replacement battery is stocked locally and how roadside assistance is reached. The available material does not establish a service-centre count or city-by-city delivery map for either company, so local availability must be verified directly.
Colour can affect Lectrix delivery timing, according to its booking information. For E3, city and variant affect delivery. If you need the scooter by a particular date, ask for the exact colour and variant in writing rather than accepting a general model-level estimate.
Which one is better for a particular buyer?
Choose the E3 2.3 kWh Trion when access to a socket is the constraint
This is the only described configuration with a removable battery. It makes the strongest practical case for a buyer who parks away from a wall outlet and accepts the 108 km IDC claim and the smaller 2.3 kWh pack. Confirm battery weight, carrying safety, replacement cost and the exact warranty before deciding.
Consider the E3 3.0 kWh high-range version when distance is the priority
Its 165 km IDC claim is the highest figure in this comparison. However, the current official price, charging time, removability and city availability are not established in the available material. It is a candidate for long daily routes only after E3 supplies a variant-specific quote and warranty.
Consider the E3 3.0 kWh high-performance version when response matters more than the maximum claim
The 128 km IDC claim is lower than the high-range version’s 165 km, which is consistent with a performance-oriented positioning, but the available official information does not give a complete motor or top-speed specification. A test ride and written specification are essential.
Choose the Lectrix LXS 3.0 when a current booking-page offer and documented brochure hardware fit your route
The current booking page gives a concrete ₹1,04,990 reference, 3.0 kWh capacity and a 120 km range claim. The older brochure adds useful hardware detail, including 1,500 W rated/2,200 W peak output and four-hour charging, but those figures need confirmation for the current revision. This option is easier to price initially, not automatically cheaper on the road or better for every rider.
A purchase checklist that prevents the most expensive mistakes
- Write the exact model. For E3, include 2.3 kWh removable, 3.0 kWh high-range or 3.0 kWh high-performance. For Lectrix, note whether the dealer is supplying the current LXS 3.0 or an older-stock LXS G3.0 specification.
- Request an all-in quotation. Have ex-showroom price, registration, insurance, taxes, accessories, finance and delivery shown as separate lines.
- Match the range claim to your use. Ask for the test basis and reserve a margin for speed, hills, payload and weather; never treat IDC as guaranteed distance.
- Confirm charging hardware. Obtain charger input, charge-end percentage, empty-to-full time and whether indoor or removable-battery charging is approved.
- Resolve the E3 warranty conflict. Get the applicable battery term and exclusions in writing before payment. Obtain Lectrix’s current battery warranty separately.
- Inspect local support. Identify the authorised service location, roadside-assistance process, parts lead time and battery-replacement procedure for your city.
- Check booking conditions. Save the refundable-token or refundable-amount wording, cancellation process, delivery dependency on colour or variant and any offer expiry.
- Test the actual scooter. Ride the precise battery and performance configuration you will receive, including braking, low-speed control, hill starts and passenger comfort.
- Verify the handover documents. Confirm the VIN, battery serial number, charger, warranty start date, software account and promised accessories at delivery.
The most defensible choice is therefore the one whose exact configuration, on-road price, charging arrangement, warranty and local support are documented for your circumstances. On the published claims alone, E3 offers the widest choice—including a removable-battery model and a 165 km IDC headline—while Lectrix offers a current ₹1,04,990 booking-page reference and a more detailed, though older, brochure specification. Neither set of information is sufficient to declare a universal winner.
