The 2020 Ducati Superleggera V4 was a road-approved, 500-unit superbike built around a 998 cc V4 and extensive carbon-fiber construction. Its headline performance figures depend on configuration: Ducati quoted 224 hp in road trim and 234 hp with the supplied Racing Kit fitted for track use.
1. Ducati limited production to 500 numbered bikes
Ducati announced a run of 500 individually numbered Superleggera V4 motorcycles, each accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. That figure describes the original production limit; it does not establish whether any examples are currently for sale.
2. Carbon fiber is part of the load-bearing structure
Ducati described the Superleggera V4 as road-approved and built with a carbon-fiber frame, subframe, swingarm, and wheels. In its February 2020 launch announcement, Ducati called it the only street-legal motorcycle at that time with a carbon-fiber chassis, swingarm, and wheels. That is a historical manufacturer claim, not a comparison with every motorcycle made since.
Ducati also said it inspected the composite components with thermography, ultrasound, and tomography, techniques it described as borrowed from aerospace. The inspection description is Ducati’s, rather than an independent audit.

3. Its 998 cc V4 is smaller and lighter than Ducati’s 1,103 cc V4
The engine is a 998 cc, 90-degree V4. Ducati said it weighs 2.8 kg less than the company’s 1,103 cc V4. Displacement alone does not explain the Superleggera’s output: the quoted horsepower also changes with the exhaust and setup.
4. Road and track figures are different configurations
Ducati’s published specifications distinguish the road setup from the track configuration with the supplied Racing Kit. The track figures are not road figures.

These are figures Ducati reported in 2020. The second row describes the motorcycle configured for track use with the kit, not a road-legal trim level.
5. The Racing Kit is a package for track conversion
Ducati listed these components and tools in the supplied Racing Kit:

The kit’s track-specific parts are not all fitted for road use. In particular, the 234 hp figure is tied to the track exhaust and track configuration.
6. Ducati designed the riding modes around track use
Ducati said the bike came with three reprogrammed Riding Modes—Race A, Race B, and Sport—and that riders could add five further customizable modes. The mode names and customization options describe the electronic setup; they do not change the road-versus-track qualifications attached to the published output figures.

7. The Lap Timer stores data for favorite circuits
Ducati’s Lap Timer can store finish-line coordinates and split times for five favorite circuits. Ducati listed Laguna Seca, Mugello, Jerez, Sepang, and Losail as examples preloaded on the system.

9. Launch-era buyer offers were tied to Ducati experiences
Ducati’s 2020 launch announcement said purchasers would be offered a track test on the factory Panigale V4 R, along with the opportunity to purchase access to a MotoGP Experience to ride the Desmosedici GP. These were launch-era offers, not confirmation of a current program.
10. Ducati also announced dedicated branded apparel
Ducati’s Italian production announcement referred to a dedicated Superleggera V4 airbag suit and carbon helmet. That establishes the historical apparel announcement only; it does not establish present stock or current availability.
