Short answer: choose the Triumph Street Triple 765 RS if engine output, adjustable suspension and high-specification brakes are your priorities. Choose the Ducati Scrambler Full Throttle if you value its flat-track-inspired design, lower seat, distinctive finish and standard up/down quickshifter more than outright performance hardware. Neither is universally better. They target different riders, and a sit-on evaluation plus a test ride should decide questions of comfort, balance and real-world usability.
At a glance: two very different motorcycles
The Ducati Scrambler Full Throttle and Triumph Street Triple 765 RS are often cross-shopped because their prices overlap, but they are not close mechanical equivalents. Ducati presents the Full Throttle as a style-led Scrambler with flat-track cues, while Triumph positions the RS as a performance-focused roadster. The most defensible comparison therefore separates published specifications from qualities that require riding experience.

Triumph’s published output is the clear performance advantage
Triumph lists the Street Triple 765 RS at 130 PS (128.2 bhp or 95.6 kW) at 12,000 rpm and 80 Nm at 9,500 rpm. Those are the only directly comparable engine-output figures in the supplied current listings, so the RS has the stronger documented performance specification.

The Ducati page captured for this comparison does not expose a complete current Full Throttle engine table. That means an older brochure number, a figure from another Scrambler version or a specification from a different market should not be presented as the current Full Throttle’s output. If acceleration or high-rpm performance is central to your choice, ask the dealer for the VIN-specific technical sheet and ride both motorcycles back to back.
What the numbers mean on the road
The RS’s 765 cc triple and high-rpm power figure point to a motorcycle designed to keep building speed as revs rise. Its published torque peak arrives at 9,500 rpm, reinforcing that sport-roadster character. The Full Throttle may appeal more to a rider who values manageable pace, visual character and an urban-friendly riding experience, but the available Ducati page does not support a precise acceleration or torque comparison.
No independent quarter-mile, roll-on, dyno or top-speed test was collected for either model here. Do not treat the output figures as proof that one motorcycle is faster in every situation; gearing, rider technique, traction and riding conditions all matter.

Chassis, suspension and braking: where the RS spends its specification budget
Street Triple 765 RS hardware
The RS is listed with a 41 mm Showa SFF-BP fork offering compression, rebound and preload adjustment. Its rear Öhlins STX40 shock also provides compression, rebound and preload adjustment. This range of adjustment lets an owner tailor the bike for rider weight, luggage, road conditions and riding pace, provided the settings are changed methodically.

Braking equipment is similarly explicit: twin 310 mm front discs and Brembo Stylema four-piston radial calipers. That is high-specification roadster hardware on paper, although component names alone cannot establish stopping distances, lever feel or pad wear. Those require a controlled test or an extended ride.
What can and cannot be said about the Full Throttle
The current Ducati US content used here does not provide a complete suspension and brake component table. It is accurate to say the Full Throttle has a different equipment and design brief, but not to claim a detailed fork, shock or caliper superiority from this source set. Ask the dealer for adjustment ranges, brake-caliper specifications and service intervals for the exact market version.
Road use versus track-day intent
The RS’s adjustable suspension and radial Brembo front brakes make it the more specification-led starting point for aggressive canyon riding or occasional track use. That does not make it a track motorcycle, and it does not prove that every rider will find it easier or faster. The Full Throttle’s appeal is less about a component checklist and more about its Scrambler format, visual identity and lower, flatter-bar stance.

The 41 mm seat-height gap matters
Ducati lists a 795 mm seat height for the Full Throttle; Triumph lists 836 mm for the Street Triple 765 RS. The difference is 41 mm, enough to change how easily many riders can put a foot down at a stop. It can also affect confidence while paddling backward, parking on a cambered surface or managing a passenger.

Seat height is not the same as reach to the ground. Seat width, suspension sag, boot sole thickness, inseam and the rider’s hip flexibility all change the real experience. A shorter rider should sit on both bikes in normal riding gear, hold the bars at full lock and try a controlled stop before deciding. Lowering links or a different seat may affect handling and ground clearance, so treat those as engineered modifications rather than automatic fixes.
Which is easier in town?
The Full Throttle’s lower listed seat and low tapered handlebar may make it feel more approachable during slow maneuvering for some riders. Ducati also highlights bronze wheels, black-and-bronze graphics and flat-track inspiration, features that matter to owners who want a motorcycle to feel distinctive at every stop.
The Street Triple’s 836 mm seat can be less forgiving for a shorter inseam, but an upright roadster layout may still work well in traffic depending on bar reach, leg position and clutch control. Neither manufacturer page establishes turning-circle measurements, heat performance, fuel range or low-speed balance. A city test route with stop-start traffic, tight U-turns and rough pavement is more useful than a showroom judgment.
Styling, controls and everyday equipment
Full Throttle identity
Ducati emphasizes flat-track inspiration, a black-and-bronze livery, bronze wheels and a low tapered handlebar. Those details give the Full Throttle a deliberately curated look rather than a generic naked-bike appearance. Its 4.3-inch color TFT keeps the display compact, and the six-speed transmission includes quickshift up and down as standard. Ducati describes that feature as standard equipment rather than an accessory upgrade.

Street Triple RS instrumentation
Triumph lists a larger 5-inch color TFT and a six-speed gearbox. The RS’s equipment story is centered on its engine and chassis specification rather than retro styling. Confirm the exact menu layout, connectivity functions and rider-aid settings on the market-specific motorcycle, because the cited listing does not provide a complete operating manual.
Quickshifter expectations
On the Ducati, the published standard up/down quickshift is a clear equipment advantage for buyers who want clutchless gear changes without adding an option. A quickshifter’s smoothness depends on throttle position, engine speed and calibration; standard fitment does not guarantee identical behavior in every gear or riding condition. The Triumph specification cited here confirms a six-speed gearbox but does not state that a quickshifter is standard, so ask the dealer whether it is included, optional or absent on the exact RS being sold.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Price and value: do not mistake displayed figures for final quotes
| Price item | What the manufacturer displays | How to interpret it |
|---|---|---|
| Ducati Scrambler Full Throttle | $12,995 US MSRP plus $995 destination | The displayed subtotal is $13,990 before taxes, title, registration, dealer charges and other fees. Ducati says its shown MSRP excludes those costs. |
| Triumph Street Triple 765 RS | $13,545 starting price | A displayed starting figure, not a guaranteed out-the-door quote. Confirm destination, setup, documentation, tax and registration with a dealer. |
On the face of the displayed numbers, the Ducati’s MSRP plus destination is $445 higher than Triumph’s listed starting price. That arithmetic is not a same-year, same-fee comparison: Ducati explicitly separates destination and other charges, while the Triumph listing’s treatment of destination and dealer fees must be confirmed. Model-year changes, local taxes, freight, accessories and inventory can reverse the apparent difference.

Which should you choose for common riding goals?
Choose the Street Triple 765 RS when:
- Published engine output is your first filter and you want the documented 130 PS and 80 Nm specification.
- You value adjustable fork and shock settings that can be tuned as your riding or load changes.
- High-specification front brakes, including Brembo Stylema radial calipers, matter to your purchase decision.
- You plan spirited road riding and may attend occasional track days, while accepting the taller 836 mm seat.
- You prefer a larger 5-inch TFT and a performance-roadster design.
Choose the Scrambler Full Throttle when:
- Flat-track-inspired styling, bronze wheels and the black-and-bronze finish are central to the ownership experience.
- A 795 mm seat gives you a better chance of comfortable stops and parking maneuvers.
- You want a standard up/down quickshifter without relying on an accessory package.
- You prefer the Full Throttle’s low tapered handlebar and Scrambler presentation for urban and back-road riding.
- You are willing to judge comfort, suspension feel and engine character by riding the exact motorcycle rather than by importing figures from an older generation.
What the published information does not establish
Several questions are reasonable but cannot be answered honestly from these manufacturer pages alone:
- Which bike handles better on a particular road.
- Which has the more comfortable seat after several hours.
- Real-world fuel economy, range and heat management.
- Insurance premiums, tire life, repair costs and resale value.
- Measured acceleration, braking distance, lap time or top speed.
- Whether a specific rider can flat-foot either motorcycle.
Triumph’s separate Street Triple 765 Q&A gives a 414.4 lb wet-weight figure for the 2023 generation. The current Triumph listing gives 414.5 lb running order. Treat that 0.1 lb difference as source or model-year variation, not evidence of a meaningful change. It does not fill in the missing current Full Throttle weight.
How to compare them properly at a dealer
- Confirm the identity. Record model year, market specification and VIN for each motorcycle. Do not rely on a brochure for an older Full Throttle generation.
- Check the quote. Request an itemized out-the-door worksheet showing destination or freight, setup, documentation, tax, registration and every accessory.
- Set the riding position. Sit in your normal boots and jacket, reach the bars, turn the steering fully and move the bike backward using your feet.
- Test slow control. Practice starts, stops, a tight U-turn and a parking-lot incline. Note where your feet land and whether the taller Triumph creates strain.
- Ride the same route. Use identical urban streets, an open higher-speed section and a rough patch of pavement. Compare throttle response, clutch effort, wind protection, suspension reaction and braking confidence.
- Evaluate controls after warming up. Try the Ducati’s quickshift in multiple gears and ask how the Triumph’s shifting equipment is configured. Check TFT readability in direct sun and at night.
- Get setup advice. Ask the technician to explain baseline suspension settings, sag measurement, tire pressures and any factory-recommended rider-weight range.
- Sleep on the decision. A lower price or more impressive component list cannot compensate for a riding position that leaves you tense or unable to maneuver securely.
Bottom-line decision
The Triumph Street Triple 765 RS is the stronger specification-led choice: its current listing supplies a clear 130 PS/80 Nm output claim, adjustable Showa and Öhlins suspension and Brembo Stylema front brakes. The Ducati Scrambler Full Throttle is the more character-led choice, with the lower 795 mm seat, flat-track styling, bronze detailing, low tapered bar and standard up/down quickshift.
Recommended Free Tools
Buy the RS for documented performance hardware and a sportier roadster mission. Buy the Full Throttle for its design, lower stance and simpler emotional appeal. Because the source pages do not establish handling, comfort or a universal value winner, the final answer should come from an exact-market quote and a back-to-back test ride.
