There is no single winner. The Ducati Panigale V4 R is a racing-derived, homologated superbike built around track-focused technology and a single-seat configuration. The Kawasaki Ninja H2 SX SE is a supercharged sport-tourer designed for long-distance travel and daily riding, with touring electronics and luggage support. Choose the Ducati if superbike and circuit priorities come first; choose the Kawasaki if assisted touring, weather-spanning road use and carrying gear matter more.
The published specifications below come from different markets and manufacturers. They establish layouts, equipment and quoted outputs, but not a head-to-head acceleration result, lap-time advantage, comfort ranking, reliability record or ownership-cost winner.

At a glance: which motorcycle fits your use?
| Your priority | Better-aligned choice | Why the published information supports it |
|---|---|---|
| Track-oriented superbike character | Ducati Panigale V4 R | Ducati presents it as a WorldSBK-derived, homologated machine and lists performance-focused controls plus a single-seat layout. |
| Long-distance touring | Kawasaki Ninja H2 SX SE | Kawasaki explicitly positions the model for long-distance touring and daily riding, and lists touring aids and a pannier option. |
| Passenger and luggage practicality | Kawasaki Ninja H2 SX SE | The UK model page lists a pannier kit with a One-Key System; the Ducati page emphasizes a single-seat configuration. |
| Published US peak horsepower | Ducati Panigale V4 R (on the cited US pages) | Ducati lists 208.4 hp at 13,250 rpm; Kawasaki’s 2026 US sheet lists 207 hp at 10,000 rpm. These are manufacturer figures, not independent tests. |
| Published US peak torque | Kawasaki Ninja H2 SX SE | Kawasaki lists 101 lb-ft at 8,500 rpm, while Ducati lists 84 lb-ft at 12,000 rpm. Different engine designs and rpm points make this a specification comparison, not a ride verdict. |
Use the table as a starting point rather than a scorecard. The motorcycles are intended to solve different problems, so a higher number in one row does not make one universally better.

Ducati Panigale V4 R: a road-legal superbike brief
Ducati’s current US Panigale V4 R page describes a racing-derived, homologated superbike. Its emphasis is WorldSBK-derived technology, a 998 cc 90-degree V4 and performance controls intended to help a rider manage acceleration, braking and cornering. The same page identifies a single-seat configuration, an important practical distinction for anyone expecting to carry a passenger. See Ducati’s specifications and equipment on the official US Panigale V4 R page.

That description does not prove that every rider will be faster on a circuit, nor does it establish a comfortable commuting position. It does establish the design brief: the V4 R is the choice for someone who values a homologated superbike first and accepts that road convenience is secondary.
Kawasaki Ninja H2 SX SE: a supercharged sport-tourer brief
Kawasaki describes the Ninja H2 SX SE as using a balanced supercharged engine “for both long distance touring and daily riding.” That is manufacturer positioning, not an independent comfort test, but it clearly identifies a broader road mission than the Ducati’s single-seat superbike brief. The 2026 Kawasaki UK model page also lists a pannier kit and One-Key System, subject to market and model-year fitment.
The H2 SX SE therefore makes sense when one motorcycle must cover commuting, motorway miles, weekend trips and carrying equipment. Its touring orientation does not make it a dedicated lightweight tourer; it remains a high-output performance motorcycle. It simply allocates more of its specification to road assistance and practical use.

Engine layouts and published output
Both motorcycles displace 998 cc, but the shared capacity hides two very different architectures. Ducati lists a naturally aspirated 90-degree V4. Kawasaki lists a supercharged inline-four. Cylinder count, boost strategy and tuning influence how output arrives, so peak figures alone cannot describe throttle response, heat, sound or usable flexibility.

| Source and market | Engine description | Displacement | Published power | Published torque |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ducati US, 2026 listing | 90-degree V4 | 998 cc | 208.4 hp at 13,250 rpm | 84 lb-ft at 12,000 rpm |
| Kawasaki US, 2026 specification sheet | Supercharged inline-four | 998 cc | 207 hp at 10,000 rpm | 101 lb-ft at 8,500 rpm |
| Kawasaki UK, 2026 page | Balanced supercharged engine | Not separately stated in the cited passage | 200 PS at 11,000 rpm; 210 PS with ram air at 11,000 rpm | 137.3 Nm at 8,500 rpm |
| Ducati international technical page | V4 | Not separately restated in the cited passage | 218 hp at 15,750 rpm | 114.5 Nm at 12,000 rpm |
The US values are the cleanest same-unit reference for a US buyer, but they still are not a dyno comparison. Ducati’s international technical page reports 218 hp at a different rpm, while the US page reports 208.4 hp; Ducati states that specifications and equipment can vary by market. Kawasaki’s UK page uses PS and adds a ram-air figure, whereas its US sheet uses hp. Do not merge those numbers into one universal specification.
What the rpm points tell you—and what they do not
Ducati’s quoted horsepower peak occurs at 13,250 rpm on the US page, and its torque peak at 12,000 rpm. Kawasaki’s US torque peak is listed much lower, at 8,500 rpm, with peak power at 10,000 rpm. Those rpm points indicate different tuning targets, but they do not reveal the complete torque curve, gearing, traction-limited acceleration or heat management. A test ride or instrumented test would be required for those conclusions, and none of the cited manufacturer pages supplies one.
Electronics and rider assistance
The electronic packages reflect each motorcycle’s mission. Ducati’s page emphasizes cornering ABS and performance controls such as traction control, wheelie control and slide control. These features are aimed at managing a rider’s inputs during hard acceleration, braking and corner exit; their presence is not evidence of a particular lap-time result.

Kawasaki’s 2026 US specification sheet lists adaptive cruise control, blind-spot detection and electronic suspension among the Ninja H2 SX SE’s assistance equipment. Those systems address following traffic, awareness around adjacent vehicles and suspension adjustment as road conditions or riding modes change. The sheet is the authority for the US equipment list: Kawasaki’s 2026 Ninja H2 SX SE ABS specification sheet.

| Use case | Ducati Panigale V4 R emphasis | Kawasaki Ninja H2 SX SE emphasis |
|---|---|---|
| Corner entry and braking | Cornering ABS is listed. | Electronic assistance is listed, but the cited sheet does not establish a comparative braking result. |
| Acceleration and corner exit | Traction, wheelie and slide control are highlighted. | Supercharged power delivery is paired with road-oriented electronic systems; no comparative traction test is provided. |
| Motorway and traffic workload | No adaptive-cruise or blind-spot function is identified on the cited Ducati page. | Adaptive cruise control and blind-spot detection are listed for the 2026 US SE. |
| Suspension adjustment | Performance equipment is emphasized; the cited material does not establish an electronic-suspension specification. | Electronic suspension is listed on the US specification sheet. |
Availability can vary by country and model year. Verify the exact equipment on the VIN-specific or local-market specification before placing a deposit, especially if adaptive cruise, blind-spot detection or electronic suspension is a deciding factor.
Luggage, passenger use and everyday practicality
Kawasaki’s advantage for carrying gear
The 2026 Kawasaki UK page lists a pannier kit and One-Key System for the H2 SX SE. That gives the Kawasaki a documented path to integrated luggage, although the page is UK-specific. Confirm that the kit is approved for your model year, supplied in your country and included or optional in the configuration you are buying. Do not assume a UK accessory listing automatically applies to a US motorcycle.
Kawasaki’s own description of long-distance touring and daily riding supports choosing the H2 SX SE when one bike must carry work items, clothing or travel equipment. It does not establish exact pannier volume, payload, passenger comfort or weather protection in every riding position; those details should be checked in the local owner’s manual and accessory catalogue.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsDucati’s single-seat constraint
Ducati identifies the Panigale V4 R as a single-seat motorcycle on its US page. That is decisive if you need a passenger seat: the cited specification does not present the Ducati as a two-up touring solution. A rider who mainly rides alone and values a race-derived layout may see the single-seat arrangement as appropriate rather than a drawback.

- Buyer's Guide: The seat guard for car seat between seat & console measures 15.75*2.7*1.53", suitable for gaps of 1.43-1.53" in width, please double-check carefully the distance between your seat and the center console before placing an order
- Storage and Filling in One: Differ from traditional single-function gap fillers, gap filler for car incorporates storage function, offers you the convenience of storing phones and various other items, so that you can access them at any time while driving
- Avoid Items Slipping: With the bumps and vibrations of the car, phones, keys may fall into the seat crevices, which is difficult to pick up, and distracts the driver's attention. Car gap seat filler fills gaps seamlessly to create an effective barrier
- Easy to Install: Car side seat gap filler is easy to install, simply insert it into the gap between the seat and the center console, gap seat filler for car can fit tightly without affecting the normal adjustment of the seat and the use of the seat belt
- Premium Material: Crafted from premium EVA material, our car seat side gap filler boasts a combination of wear-resistant, softness&durability. Maintenance is effortless, simply rinse and wipe to quickly clean the dust and debris in corners and crevices
Neither manufacturer page supplies a directly comparable seat-height, reach-to-bars, wind-protection or passenger-padded-seat assessment. Do not infer long-distance comfort from engine output or electronics. Sit on the exact motorcycle, check your knee and wrist angles, and inspect the luggage and passenger provisions in the market where you will register it.
Mass, fuel and why the numbers cannot be ranked directly
Ducati lists the Panigale V4 R at 411 lb wet weight without fuel on its US page. Kawasaki’s UK page lists the Ninja H2 SX SE at 267 kg curb mass with necessary fluids and more than 90 percent fuel, plus a 19-liter fuel capacity. These are different markets and different conventions: Ducati excludes fuel from the stated wet figure, while Kawasaki includes fluids and a near-full tank. A direct “lighter bike” verdict would therefore be misleading.
| Motorcycle and source | Published mass convention | Fuel information | How to use the figure |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ducati Panigale V4 R, US page | 411 lb wet, without fuel | Not stated in the cited specification | Useful for understanding Ducati’s stated configuration, but not directly comparable with Kawasaki’s curb mass. |
| Kawasaki Ninja H2 SX SE, UK page | 267 kg curb mass with necessary fluids and more than 90% fuel | 19 L | Useful for touring-load planning in the UK specification; market equipment and conventions differ from the Ducati listing. |
Fuel range cannot be calculated responsibly from these pages because consumption, riding conditions and the Ducati’s comparable fuel figure are not supplied. Treat range claims from third parties cautiously unless they identify route, speed, load and weather.
Price and purchase planning
Kawasaki’s 2026 US specification sheet lists an MSRP of $29,999. That is a US manufacturer suggested retail price for the stated model year, not a universal transaction price; destination charges, taxes, dealer fees and incentives can change the amount you pay. The cited Ducati US page directs shoppers to dealers for actual selling price rather than publishing a directly comparable figure.

Because the sources do not provide same-market prices for both motorcycles, price cannot produce a defensible value ranking here. Ask each dealer for an itemized, out-the-door quote for the same registration location and model year. Request separate lines for freight, setup, documentation, accessories, panniers, extended coverage and any required service package so that optional touring equipment is not mistaken for standard specification.
Which is better for specific riders?
Choose the Ducati Panigale V4 R when circuit focus dominates
- You want a homologated superbike whose stated identity is derived from WorldSBK technology.
- You normally ride alone and do not need a passenger seat.
- You value a high-rpm V4 character and Ducati’s listed cornering, traction, wheelie and slide controls.
- You are prepared to treat road convenience, luggage and touring assistance as secondary considerations.
This recommendation follows Ducati’s documented mission and equipment, not a claimed lap-time advantage. Arrange appropriate instruction and track preparation if circuit riding is your priority; the manufacturer specifications alone cannot determine tire choice, setup or rider performance.
Choose the Kawasaki Ninja H2 SX SE when road distance dominates
- Your regular riding includes commuting, motorway travel or multi-day trips.
- Adaptive cruise control, blind-spot detection and electronic suspension have practical value to you.
- You need documented luggage support, including the UK-listed pannier kit and One-Key System where locally available.
- You want the flexibility of a two-person, touring-oriented platform rather than a single-seat superbike brief.
Kawasaki’s long-distance and daily-riding positioning makes this the evidence-based choice for touring intent. It does not guarantee comfort for every body type or prove a superior range; those questions require a proper fit check and route-specific evaluation.
Choose neither until you clarify your mission
If your use is split evenly between track days, solo commuting and occasional two-up travel, write down the percentage of time spent in each role before comparing prices. A motorcycle that is exceptional in one role can be inconvenient in another. Confirm passenger legality, luggage capacity, insurance classification, local noise rules and service access before allowing peak horsepower to decide the purchase.
A buyer’s checklist before signing
- Confirm the market and model year. Match the VIN and dealer build sheet to the 2026 US or UK specification you used for comparison. Ducati and Kawasaki both publish market-specific figures.
- Verify equipment line by line. Ask whether adaptive cruise, blind-spot detection, electronic suspension, cornering ABS and the performance controls are standard on the exact trim offered to you.
- Check seating and load needs. Inspect whether the motorcycle is single-seat, whether a passenger configuration is legal and supported, and what luggage and payload limits are stated locally.
- Normalize the price. Compare itemized out-the-door quotes, not one motorcycle’s MSRP against another motorcycle’s dealer total.
- Arrange a realistic fit evaluation. Wear your riding gear, test reach to the bars and controls, and assess low-speed maneuvering with the fuel and luggage load you expect.
- Ask for service and consumable schedules. The cited pages do not establish maintenance intervals, tire life, insurance cost or reliability. Obtain those details in writing from the local dealer and owner’s documentation.
- Separate specification from evidence. Treat horsepower and torque as manufacturer claims. Do not use them as substitutes for an independent acceleration, comfort, braking or track test.
What the published data can—and cannot—settle
The available specifications settle the broad identity question: Ducati is the racing-derived, single-seat superbike; Kawasaki is the supercharged sport-tourer with documented touring assistance and luggage support. They also provide market-labeled output figures and mass conventions.
They do not settle which bike accelerates faster in a real-world roll-on, which turns quicker on a particular circuit, which protects a rider better from wind, which costs less to maintain or which lasts longer. Those outcomes depend on gearing, conditions, rider skill, setup, traffic, route and ownership history. Presenting them as settled facts would go beyond the manufacturers’ published evidence.
