When will the Ducati DesertX V2 launch in India?
Ducati India has indicated that the new DesertX will be available in India by Q4 2026, according to Autocar India’s report. That is a quarter-level availability window rather than a confirmed launch day. The report does not establish an India price, booking start date or dealer stock.

Ducati’s own February 25, 2026 announcement says European dealership arrivals are expected in April 2026. That European schedule should not be read as the Indian launch date.
What engine does the new DesertX get?
The second-generation DesertX uses Ducati’s 890cc liquid-cooled, 90-degree V2 with four valves per cylinder and intake variable valve timing. On its US model page, Ducati specifies 110.3 hp at 9,000 rpm and 92 Nm at 7,000 rpm. The launch announcement rounds the power output to 110 hp, so the figures reflect rounding rather than different engine outputs.

Ducati calls this the lightest twin-cylinder, four-valve-per-cylinder engine it has produced and says its IVT intake valve timing is unique in its segment. These are manufacturer claims, not independently tested comparisons.

What chassis, suspension and off-road equipment does it have?
Ducati specifies a dedicated monocoque chassis, a dedicated trellis subframe and a double-sided swingarm with progressive linkage. The long-travel KYB suspension and 21/18-inch tubeless spoked wheels are aimed at mixed-surface and off-road use. The standard tire sizes are 90/90-21 at the front and 150/70-18 at the rear.
Electronic equipment listed by Ducati includes a six-axis inertial measurement unit, switchable ABS with four levels of cornering functionality, Ducati Traction Control, Wheelie Control, Quick Shift 2.0 and Engine Brake Control. Six ride modes are listed: Sport, Touring, Urban, Wet, Enduro and Rally. The equipment list also includes a 5-inch TFT display and full-LED lighting, with readiness for the Ducati Multimedia System, turn-by-turn navigation and cruise control. Availability can differ by market.
