The 2025 Infiniti QX55 is the model’s final year: Infiniti says it was discontinued after the 2025 model year. Its 2025 U.S. sales fell 38.5% year over year, while Infiniti’s total U.S. sales declined 9.0%. Those figures make the QX55 a telling part of the brand’s story, but they do not prove that the crossover caused Infiniti’s decline—or that it was expected to reverse it.
What the 2025 QX55 offers
Infiniti positioned the QX55 as a design-led luxury crossover with a sportback profile. For 2025, the manufacturer lists a 2.0-liter VC-Turbo four-cylinder engine producing 268 horsepower. It seats five. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent test findings. Infiniti’s legacy QX55 page
Fuel economy and fuel grade
Infiniti reports EPA fuel-economy figures of 22 mpg city, 28 mpg highway and 25 mpg combined, and recommends premium unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 91 or higher. Those are the manufacturer’s stated figures; actual fuel economy varies with driving and conditions. Infiniti’s vehicle FAQ
Why the title’s sales comparison matters—and what it cannot prove
Nissan Group’s published U.S. calendar-year sales show that Infiniti sold 52,846 vehicles in 2025, down 9.0% from 2024. QX55 sales were 2,288, down 38.5% year over year. The declines are substantial context for the model’s final year, but sales totals alone do not explain why demand changed, establish Infiniti’s internal expectations for the QX55, or show that this model could have saved the brand. Can you still buy a QX55?
Not as a new model in production: Infiniti says the QX55 was discontinued after model year 2025. Used examples may be available, and Infiniti says certified pre-owned QX55 vehicles may remain at participating retailers. Inventory and eligibility depend on the retailer and vehicle. Is the QX65 its replacement?
Infiniti’s current lineup includes the QX65, which the manufacturer describes as a five-seat sportback SUV. That makes it a current vehicle with a related broad format, but the available official information does not establish the QX65 as the QX55’s formal direct replacement. Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.A final-year model, not a proven brand-rescue story
The QX55’s design-led positioning and steep 2025 U.S. sales decline make it a useful lens on Infiniti’s difficult year, not proof of what caused it. Infiniti confirms the model has ended, while Nissan Group’s figures show that both QX55 and total Infiniti sales were lower in 2025 than in 2024. The sources do not establish a cause for those declines or document independent road-test judgments of the 2025 model, so neither should be inferred from the sales data.
