The short answer: Donald Trump’s best-documented car story is now a former car. His 1997 Lamborghini Diablo VT Roadster, ordered new in a highly unusual Blu Le Mans color, sold at Barrett-Jackson’s Scottsdale auction in January 2024 for $1.1 million. Trump has also been associated with a Ferrari F430, a Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud, a Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren, branded Cadillac limousines, an early Tesla Roadster, and an Indianapolis 500 Camaro.
What cannot be responsibly published is a definitive list of cars currently sitting in Trump’s private garage. Public reporting combines former personal ownership, business and promotional vehicles, cars displayed at Trump properties, and vehicles connected with presidential duties. The collection is best understood as a history of cars associated with Trump, with each vehicle’s ownership status clearly labeled.

What the public record actually shows
Trump’s automotive history is real, but it is not documented like a museum inventory or a public company’s asset register. Some cars have strong purchase and auction records. Others appear repeatedly in automotive coverage without a complete paper trail showing when Trump bought them, when he sold them, or who owns them now.
The most useful distinction is between four labels:

- Former Trump-owned: ownership and a later sale or auction history are documented.
- Reported ownership: reputable automotive reporting identifies Trump as an owner, but the complete timeline is unclear.
- Trump-associated: the vehicle was part of a business, branding, promotional, or display project rather than necessarily a private purchase.
- Official presidential vehicle: a government or Secret Service vehicle used for presidential transport, not part of Trump’s private collection.
| Vehicle | Best-supported status | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| 1997 Lamborghini Diablo VT Roadster | Former Trump-owned; sold in 2024 | One-off color, manual V12 supercar, $1.1 million auction result |
| 2007 Ferrari F430 F1 Coupe | Former ownership documented; later status unresolved | New purchase, low mileage, celebrity provenance, reported $270,000 2017 sale |
| 1956 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud | Reported long-term or former ownership | One of the early luxury cars most often associated with Trump |
| 2003 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren | Reported ownership | Rare Mercedes-McLaren grand tourer reportedly displayed at Trump Tower |
| Trump Golden and Trump Executive limousines | Trump-associated business project | Luxury branding applied to Cadillac-based stretch limousines |
| 2011 Chevrolet Camaro SS Indianapolis 500 Pace Car Edition | Reported acquisition | American performance-car counterpoint to the European exotics |
| Early Tesla Roadster | Reported ownership; current status unverified | An unusual early electric entry in an otherwise combustion-heavy story |
That table is more accurate than claiming every listed vehicle is currently owned by Trump. In particular, the Diablo is definitively not a current holding based on its documented 2024 sale, and the Ferrari’s later auction history does not establish a present owner.
The absolute standout: the 1997 Lamborghini Diablo VT Roadster
If one car deserves to be the centerpiece of Trump’s automotive story, it is the Lamborghini Diablo VT Roadster. Trump ordered the car new in 1997 and reportedly specified Blu Le Mans, a shade said to have been unavailable for that model year. The unusual specification became part of the car’s identity rather than a minor paint-color footnote.
The car also carried a plaque identifying it as Trump’s 1997 Diablo. Reporting places Trump’s ownership from 1997 through 2002, after which the car passed through the collector market. Barrett-Jackson sold it at its Scottsdale auction in January 2024 for $1.1 million.
That result reflected several value-boosting ingredients arriving at once: a desirable open-top Diablo, a V12 engine, a manual transmission, unusual factory-related color provenance, documented celebrity ownership, and the general scarcity of well-preserved examples. It is important not to turn those facts into a claim that every Diablo is worth seven figures. The $1.1 million figure is the result for this particular car, with its particular specification, history, condition, and provenance.
For readers who want the car without making a claim about Trump’s current garage, a Lamborghini Diablo VT model car is the honest kind of display collectible to look for; no official Trump-branded miniature has been verified.
The Ferrari F430: strong provenance, incomplete present-day story
Trump bought a red 2007 Ferrari F430 F1 Coupe new from Ferrari of Long Island. Reports describe a tan interior and low mileage, a combination that made the car appealing both as a Ferrari and as a celebrity-provenance collectible.
The ownership trail illustrates why auction reporting needs to be read carefully. The Washington Post reported that the car sold in April 2017 for $270,000. Later coverage described what appears to be the same Trump-owned F430 as being offered again, and Mecum’s 2025 description placed the car in its Kissimmee 2026 auction cycle. The available record does not establish a definitive final buyer after that later offering, so it is safer to call the Ferrari a former Trump-owned car with an unresolved subsequent ownership history than to say who owns it today.

The F430 is also a useful reminder that an auction listing is not always an auction result. “Offered,” “scheduled,” and “estimated” do not mean “sold,” and a later catalog description may repeat provenance without resolving the vehicle’s current registration or ownership.
Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud: the early luxury association
Multiple automotive reports identify a 1956 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud as one of Trump’s early and favorite cars. It fits the broader image of luxury and status that runs through his vehicle history, but the evidence is less precise than it is for the Diablo.
The Silver Cloud I was produced from 1955 through 1958, with 2,238 examples built. Those model-wide facts help explain the car’s historical significance, but they do not prove the specifications, condition, mileage, or sale price of Trump’s particular Silver Cloud. Auction records for unrelated 1956 cars should not be attached to Trump’s car simply because the year and model match.
The most defensible description is therefore “a 1956 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud reported to have been owned by Trump,” not “a currently owned Silver Cloud with a verified value.” It is an important biographical association, but not a firm entry in a present-day inventory.

Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren: the grand-tourer centerpiece
Automotive coverage has repeatedly listed a 2003 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren among Trump’s cars and reported that it was displayed outside Trump Tower. The SLR was a limited-production grand tourer jointly developed by Mercedes-Benz and McLaren and produced from 2003 to 2010.
Its significance is different from the Diablo’s. The Lamborghini is the flamboyant, auction-proven supercar with a unique color story. The SLR is a technologically ambitious, limited-production luxury grand tourer that reinforces the collection’s preference for high-profile European machinery.
Public reporting supports the association, but it does not provide a comparably clear purchase, sale, and current-owner timeline. It should remain in the “reported ownership” category rather than being presented as a confirmed current Trump possession.
The oddest idea: Trump-branded Cadillac limousines
The Trump Golden and Trump Executive limousines are distinctive because they were not simply expensive cars selected from an existing luxury catalog. In the late 1980s, Trump worked with Cadillac and coachbuilder Dillinger-Gaines on branded stretch limousines intended for VIP transportation and promotion of the Trump name.

Reports describe gold-tone exterior trim, upgraded interiors, and gold-stripe whitewall tires. The Executive Series was somewhat less extravagant, but still presented as a premium Trump-branded vehicle.
These limousines belong in the story even though they do not fit neatly into the definition of a private collector’s car. They were rolling extensions of the Trump brand: part transportation, part advertising, and part luxury product. In that sense, they may be more revealing than another conventional exotic. The Diablo and Ferrari show a taste for conspicuous performance; the Golden and Executive limousines show an attempt to make the vehicle itself carry a business identity.
The American entry: 2011 Chevrolet Camaro SS Pace Car Edition
Trump was selected to drive the pace car at the 2011 Indianapolis 500, but reports say he declined the driving role. He reportedly acquired an official 2011 Chevrolet Camaro SS Indianapolis 500 Pace Car Edition for his collection instead.
The Camaro adds a distinctly American note to a list otherwise dominated by Lamborghini, Ferrari, Rolls-Royce, Mercedes-Benz, and Tesla. It was not merely a standard Camaro in the public narrative: the Indianapolis 500 connection gave it event-specific provenance and made it a natural keepsake from Trump’s association with the race.
That acquisition is reported, but public documentation of the car’s present status is limited. It belongs in the collection’s historical record, not in a confidently numbered list of cars that Trump still owns.
The early Tesla Roadster: an unexpected electric experiment
Several reports also associate Trump with an early Tesla Roadster. The car is an obvious contrast with the large luxury sedans, V12 Lamborghini, Ferrari, and Mercedes supercar. It represented an early attempt to make an electric vehicle exciting to performance-oriented buyers.

One report characterized the purchase as partly motivated by an interest in assessing the emerging electric-car business. That is a reported motive, not an independently established explanation, so it should be treated as attribution rather than fact.
The Tesla’s current ownership is not verified. Still, its presence in the story matters because it complicates the idea that Trump’s automotive interests have always been limited to traditional luxury and internal-combustion brands. It is best described as an early reported Tesla Roadster association, not proof of a current EV collection.

Secondary lists commonly add a Rolls-Royce Phantom, Mercedes-Benz S600, Bentley Continental GT, Cadillac Escalade, and additional Ferraris. These vehicles may reflect genuine ownership at some point, cars used by Trump businesses or family members, or repetition from earlier listicles. The available evidence does not provide a reliable complete inventory, VIN-level documentation, or a current ownership register for them.
They can be mentioned as reported additions, but they should not be blended into the strongly documented group. A long list is not automatically a better list; in this case, it mostly creates false precision.
Why “The Beast” does not belong in the private collection
The armored Cadillac presidential state car commonly called “The Beast” must be kept separate from Trump’s personal vehicles. It is a government and Secret Service vehicle used for presidential transport. Trump used the Cadillac state car during his first presidency, but that use did not make the car his personal property.
Later reporting also described a newer armored Cadillac Escalade being used for presidential travel in 2026. That vehicle is likewise an official-use vehicle, not a Trump collectible. Including either presidential Cadillac in a private collection count would confuse government equipment with personal ownership.

1. Luxury as a visible status signal
The Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud, SLR McLaren, Ferrari F430, and Cadillac limousines all communicate wealth and exclusivity in different ways. The cars were not anonymous transportation: they were highly visible objects suited to a public image built around luxury.
2. Performance cars with a story attached
The Diablo and Ferrari are more than expensive marques. The Diablo has its unusual Blu Le Mans specification and seven-figure auction result. The Ferrari has a documented new-car purchase, low mileage, celebrity provenance, and a complicated resale history. Their collectability depends on the cars themselves and on the stories attached to them.
3. Vehicles used as brand-building tools
The Trump Golden and Executive limousines make the branding strategy explicit. The Camaro ties Trump to a major American motorsport event, while the Tesla offers a reported connection to an emerging technology business. These are not interchangeable entries in a garage inventory; they represent different ways a vehicle can support a public persona or business narrative.
How much is the collection worth?
There is no defensible total collection value in the available record. The $1.1 million Diablo result and the Ferrari’s reported $270,000 2017 sale are individual transaction figures, not a valuation of every car Trump has owned or been associated with.

A credible total would require a confirmed vehicle list, identification numbers, current condition, originality, ownership status, and recent comparable sales. Without those details, adding auction prices from unrelated Silver Clouds, SLRs, Ferraris, or limousines would produce a number that looks precise but is not evidence-based.
The cleanest way to describe Trump’s cars
Trump’s automotive history contains some genuine collector-grade highlights, led by the former 1997 Lamborghini Diablo VT Roadster. The 2007 Ferrari F430 and reported Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren provide a strong exotic and luxury core, while the 1956 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud supplies the classic-car connection.
The Cadillac Golden and Executive limousines are the oddballs in the best sense: they turn transportation into branding. The Indianapolis 500 Camaro adds an American performance-car angle, and the early Tesla Roadster provides an unexpected electric counterpoint.
But the accurate headline is not “Here are all the cars Donald Trump owns today.” It is: Here are the notable cars he has owned, been reported to own, or used in business and official contexts—with the status of each claim made clear.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does Donald Trump still own the Lamborghini Diablo?
No. The specific 1997 Lamborghini Diablo VT Roadster associated with Trump was sold by Barrett-Jackson at its Scottsdale auction in January 2024 for $1.1 million. It should be described as former Trump-owned, not as a current possession.
How many cars are in Donald Trump’s collection?
There is no verified public total. Available reporting combines former personal cars, reported ownership, branded business vehicles, and official presidential transport. It does not provide a complete current inventory or VIN-level ownership register.
Is the presidential Cadillac known as The Beast part of Trump’s car collection?
No. The Beast is a government and Secret Service vehicle. It is official presidential transport, not Donald Trump’s private property or a personal collector car.
What is the most valuable documented Trump-associated car?
The clearest documented result is the 1997 Lamborghini Diablo VT Roadster, which sold for $1.1 million at Barrett-Jackson’s Scottsdale auction in January 2024. That is an individual auction result, not a valuation of Trump’s wider automotive history.

Bottom line: Trump’s car story is strongest when it is treated as a record of past ownerships and vehicle associations, not as a verified current garage tour. The former Diablo is the headline car; the Ferrari, Silver Cloud, and SLR form the luxury-exotic core; and the branded Cadillac limousines, Camaro, and early Tesla are the fascinating oddballs. The presidential Cadillacs belong to the government, and no reliable evidence supports a total collection value or complete present-day car count.
