Yes. The European-market XPENG G9L configurators reviewed for the Netherlands and France specify a CCS2 vehicle connection, so the car is designed for Europe’s standard combined DC plug. They also list high-power DC and AC charging, but the figures are manufacturer specifications: your actual rate depends on the car’s exact trim, the charging station and operating conditions.

European XPENG G9L charging specifications at a glance

XPENG’s national configurators are the most useful reference because equipment can differ by market and trim. The Netherlands and France pages both identify the G9L’s connection as CCS2. Their displayed power figures and charging times are summarized below.

Does the G9L use the European CCS2 plug?

Yes. Both the XPENG Netherlands G9L configurator and the XPENG France G9L configurator list CCS2 as the charging connection.

CCS2 is the combined European system: the upper portion is the familiar Type 2 AC interface and the additional lower contacts are used for high-power DC charging. A CCS2-labelled car can therefore use compatible European CCS fast-charging equipment, while the Type 2 portion is used for AC charging. The connector label does not, by itself, guarantee that every station will deliver the car’s maximum power; the station plug, cable rating, communications protocol and site output still have to be compatible.

What this means at a public fast charger

At a European DC rapid charger, select a connector marked CCS or CCS2 and follow the station’s payment and authentication process. A station with only a different regional connector is not made compatible by an adapter unless XPENG explicitly approves that adapter for the vehicle. The cited product pages establish the car’s CCS2 connection, but they do not list approved adapters.

How fast is the G9L on DC charging?

The two European configurators advertise a maximum DC input of 540 kW. The Netherlands page attaches that figure to the displayed RWD Long Range Ultra and gives an 11.7-minute 10–80% time. The French page lists 540 kW and a 12-minute 10–80% claim for its displayed configurations, including the AWD Performance Ultra.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The small difference between 11.7 and 12 minutes is a country-page presentation difference, not evidence that every G9L will charge in exactly either time. XPENG’s French G9L model page describes an 800 V platform and 5C ultra-fast charging and also advertises a 12-minute 10–80% session.

Why 540 kW is a peak, not a promise

A vehicle’s maximum DC figure is the highest power its charging system is specified to accept under suitable conditions. It is not the output that every European charger will provide. The available rate is negotiated between the car and the charger and is limited by whichever part of the system has the lower capability.

  • Station rating: many sites offer less than 540 kW, and some chargers share their power between two connected vehicles.
  • Battery state of charge: charging normally slows as the battery approaches a high state of charge. A short 10–80% window is therefore more meaningful than extrapolating the peak to 100%.
  • Temperature: a cold or very hot battery may accept less power until it reaches an appropriate operating range.
  • Vehicle configuration: battery, drive and software specifications can vary by trim and country.
  • Site and session conditions: cable limits, grid constraints, station faults and temporary power sharing can reduce the rate.

Consequently, treat 540 kW and the stated 10–80% time as XPENG’s advertised vehicle specifications. The cited pages do not report an independent test, a guaranteed average power or a guaranteed time at a particular charging network.

What AC charging is available?

The Netherlands listing shows 11/22 kW AC charging for its displayed RWD Long Range Ultra. The French configurator lists 22 kW AC for the displayed configurations. The safest general description for the European G9L is therefore up to 22 kW AC, with the exact rating dependent on market and trim.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

AC charging works differently from DC rapid charging. The wallbox or public AC post supplies alternating current, and the car’s onboard charger converts it for the battery. The car cannot exceed the lowest limit among its onboard charger, the property’s electrical supply, the wallbox and the cable. A 22 kW-rated post will not automatically produce 22 kW if the vehicle specification or installation is lower.

Home and destination charging

Before ordering a wallbox, ask the dealer for the precise AC rating of the vehicle you are buying and ask a licensed installer to assess the property. The cited XPENG pages do not state whether an AC cable is included, what current rating a supplied cable would have, or which wallbox is suitable for an individual home.

Your installer will need to consider the available electrical connection, protective devices, cable route, local regulations and whether other household loads can run at the same time. A destination post may also be limited to 11 kW or less even where the car is capable of more. Confirm the post’s connector and power before relying on a planned charging stop.

Why country and trim checks matter

The headline specifications come from different national pages and displayed vehicles. The Netherlands page identifies the RWD Long Range Ultra when showing 11/22 kW AC and 11.7 minutes from 10% to 80%. The French page presents 22 kW AC and a 12-minute claim for displayed configurations, including the AWD Performance Ultra. That is enough to establish the European CCS2 format and the advertised upper limits, but not enough to assume every trim has identical equipment.

  1. Open the XPENG configurator for the country where the car will be registered.
  2. Select the exact drive, battery and equipment version rather than relying on the model name alone.
  3. Record the listed connector, maximum AC power, maximum DC power and 10–80% time.
  4. Ask the dealer to put those charging specifications on the quotation or order confirmation.
  5. For a used or imported car, match the vehicle identification and software market to the specification you were shown.
  6. Confirm the public networks you plan to use have CCS2 plugs and the required power.

XPENG’s global launch announcement describes a plan covering 64 markets, but that market count does not establish the charging equipment of an individual European vehicle. Local configuration and the car’s build specification remain decisive. See the XPENG G9L global launch announcement for the company’s launch context.

How the figures translate into common charging situations

Motorway rapid charging

For a motorway stop, the relevant question is whether the site has a CCS2 cable and enough available output. A 300 kW or 350 kW charger can still be useful even though it is below the G9L’s advertised ceiling; the car will take the highest rate that the negotiated session allows. If the charger is busy or power-shared, the session can be slower than the station’s headline rating.

Urban and destination charging

City car parks, hotels and workplaces often use AC posts. Check whether the post supplies 11 kW, 22 kW or another value, and whether you must bring a Type 2 cable. XPENG’s cited pages do not say that a cable is included, so obtain that information from the local dealer before treating a destination post as a guaranteed plug-and-play option.

Overnight home charging

Home charging is usually planned around the property’s available electrical capacity rather than the vehicle’s maximum. A qualified installer can determine whether a 22 kW installation is possible and appropriate; a lower-power installation may be the practical choice where the supply or household demand makes a higher rating unsuitable. Do not purchase equipment solely because the vehicle page displays 22 kW.

What the official pages do—and do not—confirm

The official listings provide direct evidence for CCS2, the advertised 540 kW DC ceiling, the stated 10–80% times and the displayed AC ratings. They do not establish several details that buyers often assume:

  • They do not guarantee 540 kW at every charger or a fixed real-world charging curve.
  • They do not provide an independent laboratory or road-test result.
  • They do not state whether an AC charging cable is included with every trim or market.
  • They do not specify the wallbox, electrical installation or protection required at your home.
  • They do not prove that every country’s trim has the same battery, onboard charger or software settings.

For German buyers, XPENG’s newsroom reported that orders opened on 12 October 2026 and that initial deliveries were planned after the European market launch. Availability timing is separate from charging compatibility; verify the delivered car’s final equipment with the German seller. The announcement is available at XPENG’s German newsroom.

A practical comparison framework for two G9L listings

If two advertisements appear to describe the same G9L, compare the following fields rather than relying on a shared model badge:

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
Check Why it matters What to record
Connector Determines compatibility with European AC and DC plugs CCS2, as shown on the cited Netherlands and France configurators
AC limit Sets the maximum rate at home and on destination posts 11/22 kW or 22 kW, including the applicable trim
DC limit Sets the vehicle-side ceiling at rapid chargers Up to 540 kW as advertised, subject to conditions
10–80% claim Indicates the manufacturer’s rapid-charge target over a defined battery window 11.7 or 12 minutes, with country, trim and source recorded
Country and trim Explains why otherwise similar listings may differ National configurator, drive version and equipment grade

Bottom line for European buyers

The European XPENG G9L is specified with the CCS2 connector used by European combined AC/DC charging infrastructure. XPENG’s Netherlands and France pages advertise up to 540 kW DC, roughly 12 minutes for a 10–80% session, and up to 22 kW AC. Those figures are market- and trim-specific manufacturer claims, not a guarantee at every charging post. Confirm the live national configurator, your exact trim, cable contents and home-installation requirements before signing an order.
