Which 2025 Tacoma has a manual transmission?
Toyota’s U.S. 2025 Tacoma page advertises an available six-speed manual and identifies cab and bed configurations. The page establishes that a manual is offered, but the cited information does not specify every exact trim-and-configuration combination. See Toyota’s 2025 Tacoma model page.
For Canada, a Toyota-affiliated Ontario product summary lists the six-speed manual on the 4×4 Double Cab 6M configuration. Its listed configurations with automatic transmissions are separate entries; the summary does not establish that every Tacoma cab, bed, or trim can be ordered with a manual. Is the Tacoma the last Japanese pickup with a manual?
Not on the evidence available for every market. Mitsubishi Motors Japan’s FAQ, published December 21, 2023, says all Japan-market Triton grades use a six-speed automatic with sport mode and that no manual version is offered. Conversely, Mitsubishi Motors South Africa’s February 2025 Triton brochure search result indicates that manual variants are offered there. These market differences rule out treating “last Japanese truck” as a worldwide fact. They also show why a country-specific FAQ cannot settle availability across all markets. The sources establish that the Tacoma has a manual option in North America and that Mitsubishi’s Triton differs by market; they do not provide a complete inventory of Japanese-brand pickups for every country and 2025 model-year lineup.

The phrase can refer to a Japanese-brand pickup or a truck manufactured in Japan. Those are not interchangeable: a global availability claim must define which meaning it uses, as well as the countries being compared. It must also identify what counts as a pickup and which size classes qualify.
