Yes. Mazda still sells a pickup called the BT-50 in selected markets, but availability depends on the country. Mazda has announced recent BT-50 models for Mexico and the Philippines; its global model listing says the truck is not sold in Japan. Official Mazda sources reviewed do not confirm a future pickup beyond the current BT-50, so it would be premature to say Mazda is making a new one.
What is Mazda’s truck called?
Mazda’s current pickup is the BT-50. It appears on the company’s global current-model listing as a commercial vehicle. The listing notes that it is not on sale in Japan, but does not enumerate every country where it is available. The accurate answer is therefore that Mazda still sells the BT-50 in selected markets—not that it is either discontinued worldwide or sold everywhere.
Is the Mazda BT-50 an Isuzu?
The current generation is Mazda-branded and supplied by Isuzu on an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) basis. In announcing the redesigned BT-50 on June 17, 2020, Mazda said it was based on Isuzu pickup trucks and that Isuzu Motor Limited would supply it; Mazda said it would go on sale under the Mazda name in Australia in the second half of 2020. That supports calling it an Isuzu-supplied Mazda pickup, rather than implying Mazda independently developed every underlying component. Mazda’s 2020 announcement also described Mazda’s styling and design work.
Where is the BT-50 sold?
Mazda has announced recent BT-50 launches in Mexico and the Philippines, while its global model page confirms the model’s continuing place in its lineup and its absence from the Japanese market. These examples establish availability in those markets at the time of the announcements; they are not a complete current country-by-country dealer list.

Mexico: 2025 BT-50
Mazda de México announced its 2025 BT-50 on October 18, 2024. The company described the Mexican launch configuration as having a 3.0-liter turbo-diesel engine rated at 190 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque, a six-speed automatic transmission and a 4×4 transfer case. Mazda also gave a payload capacity close to one tonne and towing capacity up to 3.5 tonnes. These are figures for the Mexican launch model, not specifications that should be assumed for every BT-50 market or trim.
The same Mexican announcement listed lane-keeping monitoring, cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, front and rear cameras, and front and rear parking sensors. Mazda de México said the launch marked the first time a pickup had joined its portfolio in the subsidiary’s nearly 20-year history; that statement applies to Mazda Mexico, not to Mazda globally. See Mazda de México’s announcement for the market-specific details.

Philippines: 2025 BT-50
Mazda Philippines announced a 2025 BT-50 launch in April 2025, describing updates to the vehicle. The announcement does not establish that the same specifications or equipment apply in other markets. Mazda Philippines’ launch announcement provides the regional context.
Is the Mazda BT-50 sold in the United States?
The reviewed Mazda North American Operations newsroom does not confirm a U.S. BT-50 launch. Mazda’s global model listing shows that the BT-50 exists, but it is not a country-by-country availability list and does not establish U.S. dealer availability. The careful conclusion is that the reviewed official U.S. sources do not list or announce the truck—not that the global listing proves it can be bought at U.S. dealerships. Mazda USA’s newsroom is the relevant source for company announcements.

Is Mazda making a new pickup truck?
There is no confirmed commitment in the cited official sources to a new or next-generation Mazda pickup beyond the current BT-50. Mazda’s corporate strategy material, including its March 18, 2025 strategy update, discusses the company’s longer-term policy and electrification strategy but does not announce a new truck. The reviewed Mazda North American newsroom likewise does not announce a BT-50 launch there or a distinct future pickup. Mazda’s strategy page and North American newsroom do not establish such a plan. Their silence is not proof that no internal project exists; it means a future truck should not be described as confirmed on this evidence.
