Yes, an existing Kushaq booking can be affected by the October 2026 price revision. Škoda Auto India’s published online-booking terms say the vehicle price and statutory levies are those prevailing on the invoice date. They also allow the dealership to adjust the final invoice when a significant pricing, availability or levy change occurs between booking and delivery, provided the customer is notified beforehand.
That wording does not automatically settle every customer’s case. Your accepted order form, dealer correspondence and any separate written price-protection promise may change the result. The practical question is therefore not simply whether you booked before the hike, but what your dealer accepted in writing and which price appears on the invoice.

What changed in October 2026?
Škoda India’s portfolio-wide revision took effect on October 1, 2026. Autocar India reported that the increase was capped at 1.2% or ₹20,000, whichever applied under the announced revision. Its September 30 report did not yet provide the exact increase for every model and variant.
CarWale published Kushaq-specific figures on October 9, 2026. At that point, the reported ex-showroom range was ₹10.69 lakh to ₹19.19 lakh. The adjustment depended on the trim and powertrain rather than applying one flat amount to every Kushaq.

These are reported ex-showroom changes, not a calculation of your on-road bill. Insurance, registration, accessories, financing, dealer discounts, exchange adjustments and statutory charges can make the final amount different. A portfolio headline such as “prices up by ₹20,000” is not enough to determine an individual booking.
What Škoda’s online booking terms say
The current online-booking terms describe the booking amount as an advance that is adjusted against the sale price when the dealership raises the invoice. They state that the vehicle price and statutory levies are those prevailing on the invoice date, rather than necessarily those displayed when the booking was created.
The key provision says:
“In case of any significant changes to the pricing, model availability, or statutory levies (e.g., changes in GST or import duties) between the time of booking and the time of delivery, the Dealership reserves the right to adjust the final invoice amount accordingly, with prior notification to the Customer.”

This clause gives the dealer a published contractual basis to pass a qualifying increase through to the invoice. It does not say that every price change is automatically valid in every circumstance, nor does it define one universal amount that must be paid by every existing booker. The words “significant changes” and “prior notification” matter, as do the documents attached to your own order.

Invoice-date pricing is the central rule
If your car is invoiced after the revision, the dealer can point to the terms’ invoice-date pricing language when explaining why the ex-showroom amount differs from the booking-day figure. Statutory levies can also change independently of the vehicle’s base price, so compare those lines separately.
Sale terms are primarily between you and the dealership
The terms say commercial matters such as balance payment and delivery are handled between the customer and the concerned dealership. They also state that the sale terms are exclusively between the customer and dealership, subject to the stated exception for a company-owned showroom. That makes the accepted order form and written dealer promises important alongside the standard online terms.
Is an online booking receipt a locked price?
Not by itself, according to the published terms. The online booking is described as a request until the dealer accepts it and the stated payment and documentation steps are completed. A receipt proves that money was paid and a booking reference was generated; it does not, on its own, establish that the dealer accepted a fixed sale price or that delivery was contractually concluded at the old amount.
Look for evidence of the next stage: a dealer-accepted order form, a pro forma invoice, a written price-protection statement, or a dated message promising that the booking price will be honoured. The exact wording can be decisive. “Booking received” is weaker than “order accepted at ₹X ex-showroom,” while a pro forma invoice may still be subject to a later invoice if its terms say so.

How to check whether your booking is protected
Gather the documents before arguing about the increase. Use the same variant and transmission in every comparison; a change from a manual to an automatic or from one trim to another is not a price-hike dispute.
- Identify the booked specification. Write down the trim, engine, transmission, colour, optional equipment and any accessories shown on the booking or order form.
- Record the booking date and reference. Keep the receipt, payment confirmation and the date on which the dealer accepted—or said it accepted—the order.
- Find the old price evidence. Save the dated quotation, order form, pro forma invoice and messages showing the ex-showroom amount, discounts and agreed options.
- Request the revised written quote. Ask for the proposed ex-showroom price, registration, insurance, taxes, accessories, discounts and total invoice amount in separate lines.
- Read the acceptance and price clauses. Check whether the document says the price is subject to the invoice date, manufacturer revision or statutory changes, or instead promises a fixed amount.
- Ask for the reason and effective date. The dealer should identify whether the difference comes from the October vehicle-price revision, a levy, a changed option or another item.
- Compare like for like. Place the original and revised documents side by side and mark only the lines that changed.
Ask the dealer to answer in writing whether your accepted order form or a separate promise protects the old price. Verbal assurances are difficult to verify later, especially if staff or delivery dates change.
What to ask the dealer today
Send a concise written request using your booking reference and date. Request all of the following:

- The complete proposed invoice, including statutory levies, registration, insurance, options, accessories and discounts.
- Whether your accepted order form fixes a price or incorporates invoice-date pricing.
- Whether any separate written price assurance applies, and the document on which the dealer relies.
- The expected invoice and delivery dates and the deadline for paying the balance.
- The cancellation deduction and refund calculation if you do not accept the revised amount.
The booking terms advise customers to use the booking reference and date for delivery enquiries. Keep dated copies of every email, message, quotation and payment receipt. If the dealer replies by phone, send a follow-up message recording what was said and ask the dealer to correct it if anything is inaccurate.

How much could the increase be?
For a Kushaq covered by CarWale’s October 9 report, the reported vehicle-price difference is between ₹10,000 and ₹20,000, depending on the variant. The Classic+ 1.0 MT was reported as unchanged. The largest reported increases applied to the Prestige 1.0 AT, Monte Carlo 1.0 AT, Prestige 1.5 DCT and Monte Carlo 1.5 DCT.
That amount should not be added mechanically to your original on-road quote. A dealer may have changed an insurance quote, registration estimate, accessory package or discount at the same time. Conversely, a revised vehicle price can be partly offset by a separately agreed discount if the dealer confirms it in writing. Ask for the net total, but insist that each component remains visible.

You can ask to cancel, but the refund is not necessarily the full booking amount. The online terms say a cancellation processing fee may be deducted depending on the stage at which the cancellation occurs. They also say the refund is sent to the original payment method and can be subject to payment-gateway charges.
The terms do not publish one universal fee that applies to every order. Before cancelling, obtain a written calculation showing:

- the booking amount received;
- the applicable cancellation or processing deduction;
- any payment-gateway charge;
- the net refund;
- the expected refund date and method.
Do not rely on a salesperson’s estimate if the deduction is material. Ask which clause and order stage the dealer is applying. If you believe an accepted fixed-price promise was breached, preserve the documents and consider independent consumer or legal advice; the published online terms alone cannot decide the rights under every signed order.
Three common booking situations
Only an online receipt, no accepted order
The dealer is more likely to rely on invoice-date pricing and the significant-change clause. Ask whether the booking has been formally accepted and request the current quote before paying the balance.
An accepted order form with no fixed-price promise
Acceptance confirms the order stage but may not freeze the price. Read the price-adjustment language and check whether it expressly incorporates manufacturer revisions or invoice-date charges.

This is stronger evidence for requesting the original amount, particularly if it identifies the exact variant, price, validity period and conditions. It still needs to be read with the rest of the order, including clauses covering taxes, statutory levies, delivery delays and customer-requested changes.
Which price should you use as the current reference?
Škoda’s official Kushaq model page describes a five-trim range and displays a starting price of ₹10.69 lakh, along with warranty, roadside-assistance and service benefits. That entry figure is useful for model context but is not a complete post-revision price list for every variant. CarWale’s October 9, 2026 report shows why: some trims rose by ₹10,000, ₹15,000 or ₹20,000, while one listed manual variant did not rise.
Use the official page to confirm the model and standard ownership information, then obtain a dated, variant-specific quotation from the selling dealer. Škoda’s March 21, 2026 launch announcement is historical context for the refreshed Kushaq and its initial pricing; it predates the October revision and should not be treated as the current amount payable.
A practical decision path
- Before paying the balance: get the revised invoice and the dealer’s written explanation.
- If the variant increase matches the reported October figures: verify that no unrelated line has also changed without agreement.
- If the dealer says the old price is protected: ask for that confirmation on the order or pro forma invoice, with the exact amount and validity.
- If the dealer refuses to clarify: do not assume that silence means the old price applies; escalate in writing through the dealership’s management and retain the booking record.
- If you decline: request the written cancellation calculation before submitting the cancellation request.
The decisive comparison is between your exact accepted order and the proposed invoice—not between a general headline and a booking receipt. The October 2026 Kushaq revision creates a reported ₹10,000–₹20,000 ex-showroom difference for many variants, but the amount you must pay depends on the variant, invoice date, accepted paperwork, statutory charges and any written price protection.
