What was reported about the Banshee?
Car and Driver described the Banshee as a planned, range-topping electric Charger and reported that the program had been cancelled before reaching production. Its October 1, 2025 article attributed the cancellation claim to Mopar Insiders. Dodge did not confirm the report when asked. Car and Driver’s report quoted a Dodge representative saying Stellantis continued to reassess its product strategy to align with consumer demand and wanted to offer flexible powertrain options. That statement did not explicitly say the Banshee was cancelled.
The report described an 800-volt architecture and a two-speed transmission as planned Banshee attributes. Dodge had not confirmed a horsepower figure; estimates around 1,000 hp were speculation, not production specifications. Because the Banshee never became a marketed production trim, those details should be treated as descriptions of the proposed program, not as final vehicle specifications.
Does this mean Dodge discontinued the Charger Daytona or the Charger?
No. Dodge’s current FAQ says the Charger was not discontinued and describes both electric Daytona and gasoline-powered variants. The company’s 2026 U.S. lineup announcement likewise lists an electric Charger Daytona Scat Pack alongside gasoline SIXPACK R/T and Scat Pack models. These official lineup sources do not establish whether the Banshee program was later cancelled, paused, or revived, but they do show that the broader Charger range continued. Dodge’s Charger FAQ and Dodge’s 2026 lineup announcement address the production Charger, not a Banshee launch.

Which Charger models did Dodge list for the 2026 U.S. lineup?
Dodge’s March 9, 2026 announcement gives the following starting prices and horsepower ratings. These are manufacturer-published specifications and U.S. MSRP figures, not independent test results. Prices exclude taxes, title, and fees; four-door versions cost $2,000 more than the corresponding two-door model.

Dodge’s FAQ gives the Daytona Scat Pack a claimed 3.3-second 0–60 mph time, an 11.5-second quarter-mile time, and estimated range of over 265 miles. Those are Dodge’s claims, not independent test measurements. The manufacturer FAQ is the source for those performance and range figures.

How does the current electric Charger differ from the planned Banshee?
The Daytona Scat Pack is a listed production model; the Banshee remains a reported, unconfirmed program status. Stellantis’ September 17, 2026 Charger overview describes the eighth-generation Charger as using the STLA Large platform, with electric Daytona models and a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged Hurricane straight-six for SIXPACK models. For Daytona electric models, Stellantis lists a 100.5 kWh installed battery capacity and a 550 kW peak discharge rate. These are company-published technical specifications, not independent test results. Stellantis’ Charger overview describes the current lineup; it does not confirm the Banshee’s status.
That distinction matters when comparing performance claims: there are published specifications and prices for the Daytona Scat Pack, but no confirmed final Banshee horsepower or production specification in the cited coverage. A projected Banshee figure should not be read as a promised output or used as a direct production-model comparison.

What about Charger availability in Europe?
Dodge’s June 10, 2026 European announcement says orders were open for Charger Daytona and SIXPACK R/T and Scat Pack versions through the official importer and dealer network. It gives the European Daytona R/T a rating of 536 hp and the Scat Pack up to 670 hp, and states a 100.5 kWh battery capacity. These European specifications and ordering details are market-specific and should not be substituted for U.S. trim, pricing, or availability information. The announcement also described a launch-phase special price for a home charging station and installation powered by Free2move; it does not establish that the offer applies in the United States or continues indefinitely.
