What is the difference between Hellcat and Hellcat Redeye?
“Hellcat” can refer to a family of 2023 Challenger variants rather than one power figure. Dodge’s 2023 performance page lists 797 hp and 707 lb-ft for Hellcat Redeye models, and 807 hp and 707 lb-ft for Super Stock and SRT Jailbreak models. Those numbers should not be assigned to every Challenger Hellcat: the Redeye, Super Stock, and Jailbreak are distinct high-output versions. The figures come from different model years and manufacturer sources, so they are not a controlled same-year comparison. Dodge’s available material also does not establish a single horsepower figure for every trim someone might mean by “Hellcat.”

Which is faster, a Hellcat or a ZL1?
The cited manufacturer material does not include a controlled comparison of acceleration or lap times, so it cannot answer which one is faster in a particular test. The Redeye and the Super Stock/Jailbreak have higher published horsepower ratings than the ZL1, but horsepower alone does not establish a winner in a real-world race or around a circuit. Tires, transmission, surface, conditions, driver, and the exact trim all matter; no comparative test results are established by the specifications cited here.

Chevrolet lists 11 heat exchangers, Brembo brakes with six-piston front calipers, and 15.35-inch two-piece front rotors for the ZL1. Challenger SRT: wide tires and launch features on specified trims
Dodge describes equipment that varies by model and trim, including Widebody 20-by-11-inch wheels with Pirelli P Zero tires, six-piston Brembo brakes on SRT models, Power Chiller on selected variants, Launch Control, and track or drag modes. These features should be checked against the exact Challenger being considered rather than assumed to be standard across the Hellcat family. Body styles and practical packaging
Chevrolet offered the 2024 Camaro ZL1 as a coupe and convertible. Chevrolet’s specification sheet gives trunk volume as 9.1 cubic feet for the coupe and 7.3 cubic feet for the convertible. Dodge’s Widebody configuration adds fender width and wider tires. These details help distinguish configurations, but the sources do not provide a direct cabin-space comparison between the two cars.

Why this is now a used-car comparison
Chevrolet announced that the sixth-generation Camaro would retire at the conclusion of the 2024 model year. The announcement establishes the end of that generation, not present-day inventory or used-car prices. Chevrolet also said the 2024 Camaro ZL1 Collector’s Edition was limited to 350 units. Chevrolet’s June 5, 2023 announcement covers the final Collector’s Edition and the generation’s planned conclusion.
Dodge’s cited performance page documents the 2023 Challenger lineup; it does not establish 2026 production status, current stock, or local availability. Neither the cited Dodge nor Chevrolet source establishes current used prices, reliability, repair costs, or insurance costs, so those should be assessed for the specific car, location, and condition rather than inferred from the badge.
