No new Charger Hellcat has been confirmed. Dodge CEO Matt McAlear’s reported remark that a Hellcat V-8 might fit the new Charger’s engine bay prompted speculation, but it was not an announcement that Dodge plans to build one. Later comments from Stellantis executive Tim Kuniskis kept the possibility alive without confirming a product.
What did Dodge’s boss say about a new Charger Hellcat?
On August 8, 2025, Motor1 reported that McAlear was asked at a press conference whether a Hellcat V-8 would fit in the new Charger. His reported answer was: “Don’t be surprised if it would fit.” That addresses possible fitment; it does not confirm engineering approval, production, or a launch plan. Motor1 also cautioned that McAlear did not substantiate rumors of a V-8 Charger.

What Charger models has Dodge officially announced?
Stellantis’ March 5, 2024 lineup announcement described the next-generation Charger as a multi-energy lineup: battery-electric Daytona models and gasoline SIXPACK models powered by 3.0-liter twin-turbo Hurricane inline-six engines. The announcement’s published outputs were:

These are figures for the named announced trims, not specifications for a Hellcat. In the same release, then-Dodge CEO Kuniskis said the electric Daytona Scat Pack delivered “Charger Hellcat Redeye levels of performance” and described SIXPACK as a gasoline option. That comparison does not make either Daytona or SIXPACK a Hellcat.

Did Stellantis later say a Hellcat could be added?
In a January 20, 2026 Road & Track report about an interview at the Detroit Auto Show, Stellantis American brand boss Tim Kuniskis said: “The only way it makes sense to charge for [an optional Hemi] now is I have to go all the way up to a Hellcat.” The report presents this as a possibility if a Hemi were added, not a confirmed Charger Hellcat product plan. It is a more specific sign of interest than a fitment comment, but it still stops short of a commitment to build the car.
What is known—and not known—about a Hellcat Charger?
The statements establish that a Hellcat V-8 fitment has been discussed and that Kuniskis has described a Hellcat as a possible level for an optional Hemi. They do not establish that Dodge has approved or scheduled a Hellcat Charger.

Yes. A June 8, 2026 Dodge Europe release describes the latest Charger in Europe as offering gasoline SIXPACK and all-electric Daytona models, with all-wheel drive and coupe or sedan body styles. That is a Europe-specific lineup description, not a statement of North American availability, and it does not announce a Hellcat variant.
