The DJI Avinox M2 is a lightweight, full-power eMTB mid-drive rated by Avinox at up to 1,100 W peak power and 125 Nm peak torque, with an approximate motor weight of 2.65 kg. It sits below the M2S flagship in Avinox’s second-generation lineup. Those peak figures are manufacturer claims, not independently verified M2 test results; EMTB Forums reported 110 Nm as the regular torque figure in its 2026 summary.
How powerful is the Avinox M2?
Avinox’s April 9, 2026 launch information gives the M2 a claimed 1,100 W peak output and 125 Nm peak torque. EMTB Forums reports 110 Nm as the regular figure and 125 Nm in Boost, as well as a 250 W continuous rated power figure. These numbers describe different operating and rating contexts, so peak output should not be read as continuous power.
| Figure | What it means | Reported value and source |
|---|---|---|
| Peak power | Maximum stated output, not continuous output | 1,100 W, claimed by Avinox in 2026 |
| Regular torque | Torque outside the reported Boost peak | 110 Nm, reported by EMTB Forums in 2026 |
| Boost peak torque | Peak torque in Boost | 125 Nm, claimed by Avinox and reported by EMTB Forums in 2026 |
| Continuous rated power | Nominal rating cited for the system | 250 W, per EMTB Forums’ 2026 summary of the system specification |
| Motor weight | Motor only, not the complete bicycle | Approximately 2.65 kg, claimed by Avinox in 2026 |
How much of that performance is independently verified?
EMTB Forums says no laboratory had dyno-tested an M2 in isolation when it published its 2026 summary. The cited peak figures are therefore manufacturer claims, not independent measurements. M2-specific acceleration, sustained climbing output, thermal derating and efficiency remain unestablished by those sources. Do not treat testing or riding reports about the M2S as evidence for the M2.
Is the Avinox M2 better than Bosch CX?
The available M2 figures are not enough to declare it better than Bosch CX. A meaningful comparison requires tests of the exact motors under comparable conditions, plus the complete bikes they are installed in. The cited material provides no equivalent Bosch CX measurements or M2-specific independent dyno results.

What to compare on complete bikes
- Output: separate peak watts and torque from the nominal continuous rating, and check how each bike’s assist modes are tuned.
- Mass: the M2’s approximate 2.65 kg figure is for the motor, not the full eMTB. Compare complete-bike weights in matching sizes and configurations.
- Delivery: responsiveness, controllability and Boost behavior are ride characteristics; the cited peak numbers do not establish which system feels better.
- Long climbs: look for comparable sustained-output and thermal-derating data, rather than assuming peak output continues indefinitely.
- Noise and drag: consider gear design, sound measurements and unassisted pedalling resistance, while checking that the figures use comparable test methods.
- Ownership: compare the frame and suspension package, geometry, warranty, local dealer support and replacement-battery availability—not torque alone.
What is different about the M2?
The M2 retains the M1’s compact form and uses helical, dual-engagement gearing. Avinox says the helical gears reduce knocking and rattling, and reports 4.6% higher power density than the M1. Its launch material gives a sound-pressure figure of ≤45 dBA for the new drive systems, but not a separately measured M2 result. BikeRadar reports sealed bearings and a 41% reduction in unassisted riding resistance; that figure is a reported comparison, not a measurement established here under specified test conditions.
The M2 is the mid-range second-generation motor; the M2S is the flagship, rated by Avinox at 1,500 W peak and 150 Nm peak torque. Those M2S ratings and any M2S test results should not be transferred to the M2.

- Compatible Model: The wheel speed sensor grille is compatible with DJI Avinox M1/M2/M2S motor.
- Bike Frame compatibility: Compatible with Amflow/Velduro/Teewing E‑MTB Frame
- 0.8 mm Thinned Improved Design: Thinned from the OEM 1.2 mm thickness, creating a 0.6 mm clearance between the wheel‑speed sensor probe and trigger disc after installation.
- Compatible with Floating Brake Rotors: Compatible with Hope‑series floating rotors, increasing the reserved clearance between the wheel‑speed sensor probe and trigger disc. Also works with standard solid brake rotors for direct installation.
- Note: Size is manual measurement, there are exist errors.
Which batteries and displays work with the M2?
Avinox pairs the M2 system with removable RS800 (800 Wh) and RS600 (600 Wh) batteries, along with new displays and the Ride App. This makes the M2 part of an integrated bike system rather than just a motor choice.
| Battery | Capacity | Practical consideration |
|---|---|---|
| RS800 | 800 Wh | The larger-capacity option for riders prioritizing distance and long climbs. |
| RS600 | 600 Wh | The lower-capacity, lighter option for riders prioritizing lower battery mass or shorter rides. Avinox says it can be mounted externally as a dual-battery setup on supported bikes. |
Battery fit, charger type, regional stock and replacement cost depend on the particular bike and market. Confirm the exact frame’s approved configuration and the local availability of compatible parts before buying; do not assume that batteries or displays interchange across bikes just because they use Avinox.

The DP100-F and DPC100 displays support route import and turn-by-turn guidance. Avinox says the DPC100 can integrate with Apple’s Find My ecosystem. Through the Ride App, riders can adjust assist level, start assist, continued assist and maximum torque; the app also provides health-management alerts for faults.
Which eMTB bikes use the Avinox M2?
Avinox said in its April 9, 2026 release that more than 60 OEM partners had integrated the M2/M2S systems. Named brands include Amflow, Atherton, BH, Canyon, Commencal, Forbidden, Megamo, Mondraker, Pivot, Propain, Rotwild and Whyte. That announcement concerns the two-system family; it does not establish that every named brand has an M2-equipped model on sale in every country.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Can you buy the Avinox M2 motor separately?
The cited material presents the M2 as an OEM-integrated drive system used in complete eMTBs, not as a standalone consumer motor purchase. It does not establish a retail path for buying the motor separately. For a replacement or repair, contact the bike’s manufacturer or an authorized local service provider and confirm parts availability for the exact frame and system configuration.
