A March 2025 recall-related filing was reported to cover 1,995 Canadian Cybertrucks; a later filing in October 2025 was reported to cover 2,629. Those figures are counts of vehicles covered by recall filings, not a verified tally of Cybertruck sales or registrations. A current cumulative Canadian total as of October 8, 2026 has not been established by the sources cited here.
What the Canadian counts show
The under-2,000 claim describes an earlier snapshot, not the latest reported figure. Drive Tesla Canada reported that a March 2025 recall filing covered 1,995 Cybertrucks. Its October 24, 2025 report said a later filing covered 2,629.

| Reported filing period | Vehicles covered | What the figure represents |
|---|---|---|
| March 2025 | 1,995 | Recall-related count reported by Drive Tesla Canada; used as a proxy, not an audited sales or registration total. |
| October 2025 | 2,629 | Recall-related count reported by Drive Tesla Canada; not a complete sales or registration series. |
The October figure is above 2,000, so the unqualified present-tense headline “Tesla sold fewer than 2,000 Cybertrucks in Canada” is stale. The evidence supports saying that the later recall filing covered 2,629 vehicles—not that Tesla’s verified cumulative Canadian sales were exactly 2,629.
Why a recall count is not a sales total
A recall filing identifies vehicles covered by a safety action. It does not, by itself, provide an audited count of retail sales, deliveries, or all registrations. The reported counts are useful dated indicators of the Canadian fleet, but they should not be described as a complete model-by-model sales ledger.

Transport Canada’s notice for recall 2025559 confirms that the action involved 2024 and 2025 Tesla Cybertrucks. It describes a software issue that could make the front parking lights too bright and lists an over-the-air software update as the corrective action. The notice is the primary source for the recall details; it does not display the 2,629 figure in the cited search result.

Statistics Canada reported 27.6 million road motor vehicles registered in Canada in 2025. That national total provides context for the size of the vehicle fleet, but it is not a Cybertruck count. The cited Statistics Canada release and registration table do not establish a model-specific total for the Cybertruck.
