No. Porsche reported a 7:16.934-minute Nürburgring Nordschleife lap for its first roadgoing hybrid 911, the 2024 911 Carrera GTS. Porsche later reported a quicker 7:03.92-minute lap for the 911 Turbo S. The figures come from separate announcements and are not a same-condition head-to-head comparison.
What time did the first hybrid 911 set?
Jörg Bergmeister drove the 911 Carrera GTS hybrid around the Nürburgring Nordschleife in 7:16.934 minutes during performance testing, according to Porsche’s 13 May 2024 announcement. Porsche said the time was 8.7 seconds quicker than the corresponding predecessor version—not a Turbo S.
The Carrera GTS was the first roadgoing 911 with a hybrid drive. Porsche Vice President Model Line 911 and 718 Frank Moser described the milestone this way: “For the first time in our icon’s 61-year history, we are installing a hybrid drive system in a roadgoing 911.”
How does that compare with the 911 Turbo S?
In a 7 September 2025 announcement, Porsche reported a 7:03.92-minute Nordschleife lap for the 911 Turbo S. That is 13.014 seconds quicker than the reported Carrera GTS hybrid time, based on subtraction of the two published times.

Porsche said the Turbo S was about 14 seconds quicker than its predecessor. Its lap was completed during final development drives in autumn 2024 by a lightly camouflaged car under notarial supervision; the time was reported publicly in 2025.
Why the two lap times are not a direct matchup
The announcements describe different model comparisons and test contexts. Porsche compared the hybrid GTS with its corresponding predecessor and the Turbo S with its own predecessor. Neither release presents the two cars as having run against each other under identical conditions.

The GTS announcement says the test car had standard road tyres and an optional aero kit with a fixed rear wing. Porsche’s Turbo S announcement does not disclose matching tyre and aero details in the stated lap-time context. The available information therefore supports comparing the published times, but not treating them as a controlled head-to-head result.

The 7:16.934 time is a manufacturer-reported Nordschleife performance-testing lap, with a named driver and some setup details. Porsche also said engineers and test drivers had logged more than five million kilometres during development. That figure describes the broader development programme, not the distance driven to set the lap.

The defensible takeaway is that Porsche’s first roadgoing hybrid 911 improved on the corresponding predecessor GTS by Porsche’s stated 8.7 seconds. The later Turbo S announcement records a faster published lap, but the releases do not establish that the hybrid GTS beat a Turbo S.
