There is no single real-world range figure for every Deepal S07. The Australian-market specification lists 475 km under ADR 81/02, while the UK S07 tested by Autocar carries a 295-mile WLTP claim. Those figures come from different markets and test procedures. In independent UK testing, Autocar estimated 240 miles on a 70 mph touring run, 285 miles on a lower-speed everyday route and 233 miles from its overall test average. A separate Singapore review estimated about 420 km after mixed-traffic driving. These results are useful boundaries, not a guarantee for every owner.

Your result will move with speed, route, temperature, heating or air conditioning, payload, driving style, wheel and tyre configuration, battery condition and the exact S07 powertrain. Use the official figure to compare vehicles, then plan journeys from your own consumption data and leave a reserve.

First identify which Deepal S07 you are comparing

S07 specifications are market-specific. Before comparing a number, record the country, powertrain, model year, wheel and tyre setup, battery capacity, test cycle and whether the number was measured or extrapolated. A UK WLTP result, an Australian ADR 81/02 result and a road-test estimate are not interchangeable.

The evidence discussed here concerns the battery-electric S07. A surfaced social-media question used the phrase real-world driving range while discussing an S07 REEV; that context does not establish a range figure for the battery-electric model. Do not transfer an electric-only estimate to a range-extender version.

Published figures and observed results

Source and market Figure How to interpret it
DEEPAL Australia specification sheet, Version 2:2, accessed 2026 475 km estimated range; 18.6 kWh/100 km; 79.97 kWh battery Combined city/highway ADR 81/02 estimate for the Australian specification, not an owner result
Autocar UK road test, 2026 295 miles claimed WLTP; 240 miles touring; 285 miles everyday; 233 miles test average One UK test vehicle. Touring used a 70 mph test; the other result came from a lower-speed everyday route
Autocar consumption readings 3.2 miles/kWh touring; 3.8 miles/kWh everyday; 3.1 miles/kWh average Observed efficiency for Autocar’s vehicle and routes, not a fleet-wide owner average
Vincent Wee, Tech Edt, Singapore, 2025 About 300 km over three days, mostly mixed traffic, at about 15.2 kWh/100 km; approximately 420 km estimated range A short, manufacturer-hosted review observation rather than a statistically representative result
EV Database, accessed 2026 132–264 Wh/km across listed scenarios Modeled cases. Cold scenarios assume -10°C with heating; mild scenarios assume 23°C without air conditioning; highway cases assume constant 110 km/h

The Australian sheet also lists standard 19-inch tyres and optional 20-inch tyres. It does not provide a matched test that quantifies the wheel-size difference, so assigning a fixed percentage penalty would be misleading.

What the independent UK test tells you

70 mph touring estimate: 240 miles

Autocar recorded 3.2 miles per kWh on its touring test and estimated 240 miles. The test used a 75 kWh usable battery in the UK vehicle. Sustained motorway speed raises aerodynamic losses sharply, so this is the most relevant cited result for a fast long-distance journey, but it remains one publication’s test under its own weather, traffic and route conditions.

Lower-speed everyday estimate: 285 miles

On Autocar’s lower-speed everyday test, consumption improved to 3.8 miles per kWh and the estimated range rose to 285 miles. The 45-mile difference between the touring and everyday estimates demonstrates how route and speed can dominate the result. It is evidence of a speed effect in that test, not a universal formula that applies to every road or driver.

Overall test average: 233 miles

Autocar reported a 3.1 miles-per-kWh average, equivalent to about 233 miles using the test vehicle’s usable battery. This average combines the publication’s driving conditions and should not be presented as the typical range of all S07 owners.

A separate Singapore observation

Vincent Wee of Tech Edt, in a Changan Singapore-hosted review published in 2025, drove roughly 300 km over three days, mostly in mixed traffic. The report states about 15.2 kWh/100 km and an estimated range of approximately 420 km. That environment may involve lower average speeds and a warm climate, and the drive was short. Treat it as a distinct observation, not as proof that Singapore drivers generally achieve 420 km.

Why the same S07 can show different range

Speed and route

Highway speed is usually the largest controllable variable. Autocar’s 240-mile 70 mph touring estimate versus 285 miles on its lower-speed route illustrates the scale of the difference. Hills, headwinds, stop-start traffic, road surface and average speed all alter energy use. A route with repeated climbs can consume more energy than a flat route of the same distance, even when the dashboard average speed looks similar.

Temperature, heating and air conditioning

Deepal identifies climate, operating conditions, heating and air conditioning as real-world variables. EV Database’s modeled cases show why: its cold scenarios use -10°C and heating, while mild scenarios use 23°C without air conditioning. Cabin heating can draw substantial energy because an electric vehicle cannot rely on waste engine heat. Preconditioning while plugged in, moderating the cabin set point and using seat heating where available can reduce the energy taken from the traction battery, but the sources do not establish a universal percentage saving.

Load and driving style

Passengers, luggage and roof-mounted equipment increase mass or aerodynamic drag. Strong acceleration, high cruising speed and late braking generally raise consumption; smooth inputs and regenerative braking can lower it. Deepal explicitly lists load and driving style among the variables, but the cited material does not support a single adjustment percentage for a particular number of passengers or bags.

Wheels, tyres and vehicle configuration

The Australian specification lists 19-inch wheels as standard and 20-inch wheels as an option. Larger wheels can change rolling resistance and aerodynamic drag, yet no matched S07 test in the cited material isolates that effect. Compare cars with the same wheel and tyre specification before drawing conclusions from two consumption readings.

Battery age and condition

Deepal names battery age and condition as factors that affect real-world range. The available sources do not quantify degradation by mileage or calendar age for this model. A used S07 should therefore be assessed from its observed full-charge energy and trip consumption rather than from a guessed degradation curve.

Official rating versus usable trip range

Standardized ratings are designed for comparison under a defined procedure. The Australian Version 2:2 specification sheet labels 475 km as an ADR 81/02 estimated range and gives 18.6 kWh/100 km. A separate Australian page describes 475 km as WLTP. Because the labels differ, use the current market specification sheet and name the procedure it actually states; do not silently merge the two descriptions.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The UK Changan page says its figures are WLTP type-approved and intended for comparison with vehicles tested by the same procedure. It also says real-life results depend on weather, driving style, vehicle load and fitted accessories, with figures correct at 1 March 2026. A rating is therefore a reference point, not a promise that the dashboard will always show that distance.

How to estimate your own usable range

  1. Start with observed consumption. Reset the trip meter after charging and record the displayed kWh/100 km or miles/kWh over several journeys. Include the kind of driving you actually do, rather than relying on one unusually gentle trip.
  2. Separate conditions. Keep distinct notes for motorway travel, urban traffic, winter temperatures, summer air-conditioning use and heavily loaded trips. Mixing them into one number hides the conditions that matter for your next journey.
  3. Use usable battery energy, not a brochure battery figure. Autocar’s UK test vehicle was listed with a 75 kWh usable battery, while the Australian specification lists a 79.97 kWh battery. Different markets may quote different battery definitions, so do not substitute one value for the other.
  4. Apply the simple conversion. Range in miles equals usable kWh multiplied by miles per kWh. Range in kilometres equals usable kWh divided by kWh per kilometre. For example, Autocar’s 75 kWh and 3.2 miles/kWh produce 240 miles; 3.8 miles/kWh produces 285 miles.
  5. Subtract a reserve. Stop before the displayed zero, especially in cold weather, on unfamiliar roads or where chargers are sparse. Choose the reserve in distance or percentage according to your risk tolerance and charger availability; the cited sources do not define a universal reserve.

This method is more useful for trip planning than averaging the Australian, UK and Singapore figures, because those results use different markets, batteries, routes and conditions.

What EV Database’s modeled cases are useful for

EV Database lists modeled S07 consumption from 132 to 264 Wh/km across its scenarios. The range spans mild and cold weather and city and highway assumptions, so it is not a measured single-vehicle result. Its highway case assumes a constant 110 km/h, its cold case assumes -10°C with heating and its mild case assumes 23°C without air conditioning. Use these figures as scenario planning boundaries, not as a claim that every S07 will return one of those exact values.

Charging affects journey time, not the distance in a full battery

Charging specifications are often confused with range. The Australian specification lists a maximum 92 kW DC rate and an approximate 30–80% charging time of 35 minutes. Autocar recorded a 63 kW weighted-average DC result in its test. A weighted average is not a peak rate, and the two figures come from different markets and methods.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Actual charging time depends on charger output, starting state of charge, battery temperature, ambient conditions, battery age and the vehicle’s charging curve. A faster charger can shorten a stop; it cannot increase the energy available from a fully charged battery. The Australian specification identifies an AC Type 2 connector and says the V2L cable is sold separately; neither accessory increases driving range.

A practical range-test log for owners

  • Record market, model year, powertrain, battery indication and wheel or tyre size.
  • Note starting and ending state of charge, distance, average speed and displayed consumption.
  • Write down ambient temperature, rain or wind, heating or air-conditioning use, passengers and cargo.
  • Keep motorway and urban results separate, and repeat each route in both directions when possible to reduce the effect of gradients and wind.
  • Use several charge cycles before treating a number as representative. One short trip can be distorted by cabin preheating, traffic or a cold-soaked battery.

When comparing another owner’s result, ask whether its figure was measured or extrapolated, what battery definition was used, and which test conditions produced it. Without those details, two apparently precise range numbers may describe entirely different situations.

Common mistakes when reading S07 range claims

  • Combining cycles: Do not present the Australian ADR 81/02 estimate and UK WLTP claim as one direct comparison.
  • Calling a rating real-world: The 475 km Australian number is a standardized estimate, not a road-test result.
  • Turning one review into an owner average: The 420 km Singapore estimate came from a three-day mixed-traffic drive, while Autocar’s numbers came from one UK vehicle.
  • Confusing peak and average charging power: Autocar’s 63 kW weighted-average result cannot be compared directly with a 92 kW maximum-rate specification.
  • Inventing a wheel penalty: The sources identify 19-inch and 20-inch configurations but do not quantify their separate range effect.
  • Using charging accessories as a range upgrade: A cable or V2L equipment changes charging or power-delivery capability, not the traction battery’s stored energy.

Bottom line for trip planning

For a UK S07, the strongest independent reference in this material is Autocar’s 240-mile estimate at 70 mph, with 285 miles on its lower-speed everyday route and 233 miles across its reported average. The Australian specification’s 475 km figure is useful for comparing Australian-market vehicles under ADR 81/02, while the Singapore review’s approximately 420 km estimate describes a short, mixed-traffic observation. Identify your market and procedure, measure your own consumption, and plan motorway trips with a weather- and load-appropriate reserve.
