That sharp drop supports the headline’s verdict, but it does not mean Tesla reported a global Cybertruck-only delivery total: Tesla groups the truck with other vehicles in its official delivery reporting.
How many Cybertrucks did Tesla sell in 2025?
Kelley Blue Book/Cox Automotive estimated 20,237 U.S. Cybertruck sales in 2025, compared with 38,965 in 2024. The same series puts the year-over-year decline at 48%. These are annual U.S. sales estimates, not Tesla’s global delivery figures.

The year-to-year comparison is useful because it holds geography and measure constant. It shows a steep retreat from the prior year, but by itself does not explain why buyers purchased fewer trucks.
Why Tesla’s reported deliveries are not a Cybertruck sales total
Tesla does not break out Cybertruck deliveries in the cited company reporting. Instead, it combines the truck with other vehicles in an “Other Models” category. That global category cannot be read as a Cybertruck-only number.

For Q3 2026, Tesla reported 8,295 global deliveries in “Other Models.” Electrek estimated that 7,000–8,000 of those were Cybertrucks by subtracting deliveries it attributed to other vehicles. The range is Electrek’s estimate, not a Tesla-reported model total; the calculation is uncertain because the category may also include the Semi, Cybercab, and remaining Model S or Model X deliveries. Electrek’s analysis is therefore a different kind of evidence from the annual U.S. sales estimates above.
Tesla’s Q4 2025 delivery-consensus page also needs careful reading: it marks Q3 2025 as actual and later periods in the table as analyst consensus estimates. Its “all other models” row is an aggregate, not a Cybertruck count. Tesla’s consensus page should not be treated as a model-level sales report.

Registrations do not tell the whole story about public demand
S&P Global Mobility counted 7,071 U.S. Cybertruck registrations in Q4 2025, according to reporting by the Los Angeles Times. Of those registrations, 1,279 were to SpaceX and 60 to other companies associated with Elon Musk. Those registrations are part of the recorded total, but they are not synonymous with sales to unaffiliated retail customers.
Keep this quarterly registration figure separate from the annual sales estimates and Tesla’s global delivery category. The figures cover different periods and geographies, and they measure different things; combining them into one total would create a misleading comparison.

What the numbers do—and do not—say about the decline
The figures establish a large decline in estimated U.S. sales between 2024 and 2025. They do not establish a definitive cause. The available reporting does not quantify how much of the change came from any one factor, so explanations about demand, product appeal, production, or the broader market should be treated as hypotheses rather than proven causes.
The most defensible conclusion is narrower: the U.S. sales estimate nearly halved year over year, while Tesla’s public delivery reporting does not provide a Cybertruck-only global count. Later quarterly estimates can help frame the scale, but they do not replace a directly reported model total.
