How much did Cybertruck sales fall in 2025?
Kelley Blue Book’s U.S. estimate was 20,237 Cybertrucks in 2025, down from 38,965 in 2024. That is a decline of 18,728 vehicles, or 48%, according to the figures reported by CBS News on January 23, 2026.

The comparison is striking, but its scope matters: these are Kelley Blue Book estimates for the United States. Tesla’s own delivery tables do not list Cybertruck separately, so they cannot independently confirm a Cybertruck-only annual total.
What the recent quarterly estimates show
Cox Automotive’s U.S. quarterly estimates, reproduced by Electrek, show Cybertruck sales remaining at a relatively low level into 2026. The Q2 increase over Q1 was modest and does not change the 2025 year-over-year comparison.

The series shows a 225-vehicle increase from Q1 to Q2 2026. Electrek reported the quarterly estimates on October 7, 2026. These are quarterly estimates, not Tesla-reported Cybertruck deliveries.
Why Tesla’s delivery totals can’t answer the Cybertruck question
Tesla groups Cybertruck with other vehicles in an aggregate “Other models” category, alongside models such as the Model S and Model X. Its official Q1 2026 delivery report lists 16,130 global “Other models” deliveries, but does not say how many were Cybertrucks. Tesla’s Q2 2026 Form 10-Q likewise does not provide a Cybertruck-specific delivery total.

The distinction is especially important for Q3 2026. Tesla reported 8,295 global deliveries across “Other Models,” compared with 15,933 in Q3 2025 and 12,364 in Q2 2026. Those are aggregate figures covering multiple models, not Cybertruck sales. Electrek reported that a standalone Cox estimate for Q3 was not yet available as of October 7, 2026. Assigning some or all of Tesla’s aggregate total to Cybertruck would not be supported by the published figures.
Sales estimates and registrations are different measures
Registration data can produce a different count from a sales estimate because the two measures are not interchangeable. The Los Angeles Times cited S&P Global Mobility data showing 7,071 U.S. Cybertruck registrations in Q4 2025. That includes 1,279 registered to SpaceX and 60 to other Musk-associated companies. Cox Automotive’s estimate for U.S. sales in the same quarter was 4,140, as reproduced by Electrek.

The figures should be reported with their source and measure attached: 7,071 registrations, according to S&P Global Mobility data cited by the Los Angeles Times, versus a 4,140 sales estimate from Cox Automotive. The registration count, including related-company registrations, does not automatically replace or revise the sales estimate.

The available data support a clear conclusion about the 2025 U.S. estimate: it fell sharply from 2024. The quarterly Cox estimates also show U.S. totals below 4,200 in each reported quarter from Q4 2025 through Q2 2026. They do not, however, establish why demand declined. Wedbush Securities analyst Dan Ives told CBS News, “It’s been an uphill battle for sales, but a long demand curve ahead.” That is his view, not a demonstrated cause or a confirmed forecast.

Nor do Tesla’s latest reported delivery figures settle the Cybertruck’s Q3 2026 performance. The company’s Q3 “Other Models” total is global and covers multiple vehicles, while a standalone U.S. Cybertruck estimate was not yet available in Electrek’s October 7 report.
