He also said he still liked the vehicle despite the incident and other delivery complaints.
How the owner said he was injured
In a May 23, 2024 post on the Cybertruck Owners Club forum, an Ohio owner described noticing a mark on the tailgate during delivery inspection. As he rubbed the tailgate’s flat face with his thumb, his wrist inadvertently grazed the vertical edge of the rear quarter panel, according to his account.
He initially thought it was a small cut. “I, too, thought it was a little slice like a paper cut…” he wrote, followed by: “Until the blood started pouring.” Two delivery employees helped him stop the bleeding, and he completed the delivery.
At home, he said the wound began bleeding again after he removed the bandage, so he went to an emergency room. The original post does not include a medical diagnosis or records. Read the owner’s forum account.

Does this establish a broader Cybertruck safety problem?
No. The available accounts document one owner-reported injury during delivery inspection; they do not establish how often such injuries happen, a vehicle-wide defect, a regulatory finding or Tesla’s response to this particular event. They also do not provide an independent investigation or medical documentation. A single account can describe what happened to that owner, but it cannot establish an injury rate or broader conclusion.

Why the owner said he still liked the truck
Despite the injury and delivery complaints, the owner expressed a positive overall view of the vehicle: “Otherwise, it’s great. Heck, it’s great even with these issues.” That is his opinion, not an independent assessment of the Cybertruck’s safety or condition.
