YouTuber Lamar MK says his Tesla Cybertruck developed several problems within its first month, including warning indications, stiff steering and an inability to charge. Futurism reported his account on April 29, 2024; it is one owner’s experience, not evidence of a broader reliability rate.
What problems did Lamar MK report?
According to Futurism’s April 29, 2024 report, Lamar MK took delivery of his Cybertruck in North Carolina in March 2024. He described an initially positive impression followed by a series of issues:

- He saw what he called “weird error codes,” and the center display flashed red.
- He later found the battery low for no clear reason and said the steering wheel could barely turn.
- After taking the truck in for service, he found the air conditioning was not working when he got it back. Futurism described the second repair visit as a quick five-minute fix.
- Soon afterward, he said the truck would not charge.
These symptoms are reported from Lamar MK’s account as summarized by Futurism; they are not a confirmed diagnosis or a verified list of defects shared by other Cybertrucks. Futurism quoted him saying, “To be honest with you guys, I’m not here to bash Tesla or put them down or anything, but my Cybertruck experience hasn’t been good. Hasn’t been good one bit.”
Did Tesla replace the truck?
The report says Lamar MK appealed to Elon Musk: “Just give me a new truck, Elon Musk.” It does not establish whether Tesla replaced the vehicle or resolved all the reported problems, so no final outcome can be confirmed from that account.

Was his truck part of the accelerator-pedal recall?
The recall was a separate issue; the reporting does not connect it to the problems Lamar MK described. On April 19, 2024, The Verge reported that Tesla recalled 3,878 model-year 2024 Cybertrucks manufactured between November 13, 2023, and April 4, 2024. Citing the NHTSA recall filing, The Verge said the accelerator pedal pad could dislodge and become trapped in interior trim. The filing attributed reduced retention to an unapproved assembly change that introduced soap lubricant. Tesla said it would replace or rework affected pedals at no charge, according to The Verge’s recall report.
The available account does not establish whether Lamar MK’s particular vehicle was included in the recall. Nor does the recall provide an explanation for his reported low battery, stiff steering, air-conditioning or charging problems.
