There are not 15 individually documented, comparable watercraft in the available official-source material—and several of the most futuristic examples are prototypes or development projects, not products you can buy. Rather than inflate a list, this guide covers the distinct craft it supports, from personal watercraft and eFoils to electric passenger boats and a seaglider prototype. Their uses and development status matter as much as their technology.
How to read this watercraft roundup
These craft are not interchangeable. A personal watercraft is built for an individual rider or small group; an eFoil is a surfboard-like craft lifted by an underwater hydrofoil; passenger vessels carry people between destinations; and a seaglider is an emerging coastal transport design. Hydrofoils use underwater lifting surfaces to raise a hull above the water at speed. Manufacturers associate foiling with lower drag, efficiency, or a smoother ride, but those claims are not independent, apples-to-apples test results.
The status labels below distinguish announced lineups and listed products from development projects and prototypes. Availability can vary by country, and an announcement alone does not establish local inventory or delivery.
Personal watercraft and water-sport craft
Sea-Doo performance personal watercraft
Sea-Doo’s performance lineup lists the GTR, GTR-X, RXP-X, and RXT-X model families, with 2026 model references on its page. These are performance personal watercraft, not passenger hydrofoil boats. The manufacturer page also lists related accessories, maintenance parts, apparel, and personal flotation devices; it is a lineup source, not an independent recommendation. See Sea-Doo’s performance lineup.

Yamaha WaveBlaster WaveRunner
Yamaha announced a new single-rider WaveBlaster on August 23, 2026, emphasizing a design intended for leaned turns. The announcement establishes the model’s introduction, not whether a dealer in a particular region has it in stock. Read Yamaha’s announcement.
Taiga Orca P2 and WX3
Taiga’s September 9, 2025 announcement described the Orca P2 as a two-seat electric personal watercraft and the WX3 as a three-seat crossover intended for touring and tow sports. The company said its announced 2026 lineup would include DC fast charging and bidirectional vehicle-to-grid capability. Those are announced features, not confirmation of current delivery or charger availability in every market. See Taiga’s lineup announcement.

Waydoo Flyer EVO eFoils and Subnado scooter
Waydoo’s official site presents an eFoil line and the Subnado underwater scooter. An eFoil is an electric hydrofoil surfboard: a rider stands on a board while a powered underwater foil lifts it above the surface once it has enough speed. Waydoo’s current site listing showed $6,499 for the Flyer EVO Max Plus when accessed October 7, 2026; treat that as a time-sensitive manufacturer listing, not a verified offer or a guarantee of regional availability. Check Waydoo’s current product listings.
Quadrofoil Q2A and Q2S
Quadrofoil’s official site lists the Q2A and Q2S as electric hydrofoiling models. The available source material does not establish comparable performance figures or independent test results, so it is not possible to rank these models against other foiling craft on speed, range, or ride quality. See Quadrofoil’s model listings.

Electric leisure and passenger boats
Halevai Model 2050
Halevai advertises the Model 2050 as an electric boat and lists a 20 mph cruising speed, a 50-nautical-mile average range, and a $139,000 base MSRP on its product page as accessed October 7, 2026. These are the manufacturer’s figures, not independent test results; the page’s range conditions and current sales availability should be checked directly before purchase. View the Model 2050 page.
BMW and TYDE THE ICON
BMW’s May 2023 announcement described THE ICON as a battery-electric hydrofoil craft. BMW stated a length of 43.14 feet, a top speed of 30 knots, and a range of more than 50 nautical miles. These are company-published specifications, not independently verified comparisons, and the older announcement does not establish current availability. Read BMW’s announcement.

Candela P-12 Voyager
Candela announced the P-12 Voyager in June 2026 as a luxury electric foiling vessel. The announcement presents it as a passenger-travel product, a different purpose from a rider-focused personal watercraft. Candela Senior Product Manager Gabriele De Mattia said, “With the P-12 Voyager, we’ve engineered luxury into the ride itself.” That is the company’s product positioning, not an independent assessment of comfort or performance. REGENT Viceroy Seaglider
REGENT describes Viceroy as a full-scale, 12-passenger electric prototype. Its operating concept moves through three modes: floating on its hull, foiling, and flying in ground effect just above the water. REGENT reported that the prototype completed its first crewed flight on September 2, 2026. In a March 2026 announcement, the company forecast customer deliveries in 2027. Both are company-reported development milestones; neither means passengers can currently book a service. Read the crewed-flight announcement and see the test-campaign update.

Its relevance is as a developing platform, not as an alternative to a personal watercraft. See REGENT’s test-campaign announcement.
HEYROW-X1
HEYROW-X1 is an EU-funded project described by the European Commission’s CORDIS project entry as work on intelligent electric hydrofoil vessels. Its scheduled project period is August 1, 2026, to May 31, 2028. That is a project timeline—not a retail launch date or a forecast that a finished craft will be delivered to customers. Read the CORDIS project entry.
Quick Recap
What these technologies mean for choosing a craft
- For solo riding or tow sports: Start with personal watercraft and eFoils. Check rider capacity, intended activity, local availability, and the safety equipment required for your location.
- For electric leisure boating: Compare the maker’s stated speed and range only after checking the conditions behind each figure. The figures above come from different manufacturers and are not a controlled comparison.
- For passenger transport: Treat vessels such as the P-12 Voyager and concepts such as Viceroy as transport designs, not recreational PWCs. Confirm whether the specific craft is operating commercially before planning a trip.
- For charging: The Taiga announcement is the material here that specifically supports claims about DC fast charging and bidirectional power. For any electric craft, confirm compatible charging equipment and infrastructure where you intend to use it.
- For an emerging concept: Distinguish a product listing from a project schedule or prototype test. A flight milestone and a planned delivery year are not proof of current passenger service.
