Excellence adds Bose eight-speaker audio, front and rear wireless smartphone charging, and ADAS-linked regenerative braking. Both trims are listed with a panoramic sunroof, 10.25-inch digital displays, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, front ventilated seats, and leather upholstery. Whether Excellence is worth choosing depends on its current, city-specific price premium and how much you value those three upgrades.
Hyundai’s published materials do not provide a verified, current price difference between these two trims. Obtain a dated dealer quotation for the exact city, registration state, battery-ownership method and charging package before deciding.

What is the difference between Executive Tech and Excellence?
The two trims share the same 42 kWh battery grouping in Hyundai’s published lineup. Hyundai’s product page quotes 420 km for the 42 kWh configuration; that is a manufacturer figure, not a promise of the distance an individual driver will achieve in traffic, heat, rain or highway use.
Excellence is the more highly equipped of the two on the features identified in Hyundai’s matrix. Its additions are:
#1 Best Overall

- Bose premium eight-speaker audio.
- Wireless smartphone charging for both front and rear passengers.
- Regenerative braking linked with the vehicle’s ADAS system.
Executive Tech is not shown with those three items. It is not, however, a bare-bones version. Hyundai lists the following on both trims:
- Panoramic sunroof.
- 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and 10.25-inch infotainment display.
- Wireless Android Auto and wireless Apple CarPlay.
- Front ventilated seats.
- Leather upholstery.
Therefore, a panoramic sunroof is not an Excellence-only feature. If the sunroof is your main reason for upgrading, Executive Tech already supplies it according to the official feature matrix.
Compare only the standard-range Excellence with Executive Tech. Hyundai’s page also uses names such as Excellence LR, Excellence Knight and Lounge for other configurations; their equipment should not be assumed to apply to the Excellence trim discussed here.

Does Excellence have a larger battery or more range?
Not in the comparison established by Hyundai’s current pages. Executive Tech and the standard-range Excellence are both placed in the 42 kWh group. Hyundai separately lists a 51.4 kWh configuration with a quoted 510 km range, but that does not turn the standard-range Excellence into the long-range model.
| Hyundai battery listing | Published range figure | How to interpret it |
|---|---|---|
| 42 kWh | 420 km | Manufacturer vehicle-page figure; real-world distance varies |
| 51.4 kWh | 510 km | A separate battery configuration, not evidence that standard Excellence has this range |
These figures come from Hyundai’s product page, not an independent road test. Driving speed, temperature, cabin heating or cooling, payload, tyre pressure, terrain and charging strategy can all change consumption. If a dealer describes an Excellence car as “510 km,” check whether the quote is actually for an Excellence LR or another 51.4 kWh configuration.

Feature-by-feature: where Excellence adds value
Bose eight-speaker audio
Excellence is the only one of these two trims for which Hyundai lists Bose premium eight-speaker audio. This is the clearest upgrade for drivers who spend substantial time listening to music or podcasts and would otherwise pay to retrofit speakers. Executive Tech still has the listed infotainment display and wireless smartphone integration, but its matrix entry does not include the Bose system. During a test drive, use familiar tracks at low and high volume and listen for clarity from every seating position; the value of a branded system is personal, and no price for an aftermarket equivalent is established here.
Front and rear wireless charging
The Excellence matrix entry includes wireless charging in both seating rows. Executive Tech does not list front-and-rear wireless charging. That matters if rear passengers regularly use phones on long trips; for a driver who keeps one phone connected by cable or rarely carries rear passengers, the practical benefit is smaller. Check that your phone fits the pad, that a protective case does not interrupt charging, and that the dealer demonstrates both locations rather than only the front pad.
ADAS-linked regenerative braking
Hyundai lists ADAS-linked regenerative braking on Excellence and not on Executive Tech. Regenerative braking recovers energy during deceleration, while the ADAS link can coordinate deceleration with driver-assistance inputs. The matrix establishes the feature’s trim availability; it does not establish that every ADAS function is exclusive to Excellence. Ask the dealer to demonstrate the relevant settings on the exact vehicle, including how the car behaves in traffic and whether the driver can adjust the regeneration level.
Sunroof, seats and connectivity
Do not pay the Excellence premium solely for the panoramic roof, ventilated front seats, leather upholstery or the two 10.25-inch displays: Hyundai lists each of those on Executive Tech as well. Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are also shared. These common features make Executive Tech the stronger value if your priorities are cabin ambience, screen size and smartphone integration rather than audio and charging convenience.

What the matrix does not prove
A feature marked as listed is not a promise that every dealer-stock vehicle has an identical build. Hyundai’s matrix covers a broad lineup and includes other names, including Excellence LR, Excellence Knight and Lounge. Verify the exact variant code, battery size, upholstery and equipment on the quotation and vehicle identification documents. Do not infer extra safety, software or comfort equipment simply because a higher trim name appears elsewhere on the page.
Price: why you need a like-for-like quotation
Hyundai’s product page currently shows a model-level starting ex-showroom price of ₹18,02,800. That is not a published Executive Tech-versus-Excellence price delta. Hyundai also presents a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) format with a starting vehicle price of ₹10.99 lakh and battery charges from ₹3.9 per kilometre. The two numbers describe different ownership structures and must not be treated as a cash-purchase discount on Excellence.
| Published figure | What it describes | What it does not establish |
|---|---|---|
| ₹18,02,800 starting ex-showroom | Model-level starting price shown on Hyundai’s product page | The local price of either compared trim |
| ₹10.99 lakh starting vehicle price | BaaS vehicle price cited by Hyundai, including the battery-service structure | A cash price for the 42 kWh Executive Tech or Excellence |
| ₹3.9/km starting battery EMI | Starting battery usage charge in the BaaS format | Your total electricity, finance, insurance or service cost |
The BaaS figures were stated in Hyundai Motor India’s July 2, 2026 announcement, while the product page presents its own current model-level pricing. Read the full release at Hyundai’s BaaS announcement.

Before comparing trims, request two quotations issued on the same date and for the same city. Each should identify the variant, battery size, battery ownership method, ex-showroom price, registration and insurance, accessories, charger, installation, finance charges, discounts and taxes. A lower BaaS vehicle price can carry a per-kilometre battery charge, while a purchased-battery quote puts more of the cost upfront. Compare the expected kilometres you drive with the battery charge, and keep electricity and public-charging costs in a separate line so the two structures remain transparent.
Questions to put on the dealer quotation
- Is the vehicle Executive Tech or standard-range Excellence, rather than Excellence LR, Excellence Knight or another trim?
- Is the battery purchased outright or supplied through BaaS?
- What is the battery charge per kilometre, and how is distance measured and billed?
- Does the quote include a 7.4 kW wallbox, installation, wiring and site inspection?
- Which portable charging cable is included?
- Are insurance, registration, fast-charging access, accessories and extended warranty included or separate?
- What is the final on-road amount after all discounts and fees?
- What cancellation, transfer or refund terms apply if the vehicle or battery plan changes?
Charging and the wallbox question
Hyundai describes 7.4 kW AC home charging and DC fast charging from 10% to 80% in 39 minutes. The company warns that charging time depends on charger specification, ambient temperature and uninterrupted power, so 39 minutes is not a guaranteed result at every station. A public charger that is occupied, power-limited or operating in extreme heat can take longer.
The feature matrix lists a portable charging cable for both Executive Tech and Excellence. It lists the 7.4 kW wallbox as optional for Excellence rather than standard equipment; Executive Tech is not shown with a standard wallbox either. The matrix does not identify a universal wallbox brand, installation package or price. A salesperson’s verbal promise should therefore be converted into a line item showing charger, installation scope and delivery timing.
How to verify home-charging readiness
- Ask the dealer to write the charger model or rating into the quotation.
- Confirm whether installation includes cable routing, earthing, protection devices, mounting and a site survey.
- Check the electrical load available at your parking location; a 7.4 kW unit may require a suitable sanctioned load and dedicated circuit.
- Ask whether installation is limited to a particular distance from the meter or parking bay.
- Clarify who handles permits, apartment-association approval and any civil work.
- Keep the portable cable even if you install a wallbox; it provides a backup option where an AC socket or compatible public charger is available.
If you cannot charge at home, the trim decision should include your regular public-charging route and its pricing. Hyundai’s July 2026 BaaS release says more than 28,000 EV charging points can be discovered through the myHyundai app. That is a company-published network figure; check live station availability, connector compatibility and tariffs before relying on it for a commute. Network size does not guarantee a charger at your destination or uninterrupted service.
Battery warranty and Hyundai’s published ownership claims
Hyundai’s July 2, 2026 BaaS announcement states an eight-year or 160,000 km battery warranty, whichever comes first. Confirm whether the term, exclusions and transfer conditions apply to the exact battery-ownership plan in your quotation; a BaaS agreement can have provisions separate from a purchased-battery vehicle. Ask who is responsible for battery replacement, degradation claims and end-of-contract arrangements.

The same release reports a CRETA Electric distance of 1,326.5 km in 24 hours, describing it as an India Book of Records milestone. It also describes a “Test Driven by 100” campaign covering 15,000 km across 10 states, 26 cities and more than 200 destinations. These are Hyundai’s company-reported claims, not independent comparative efficiency or durability tests. No independent real-world range or owner-cost statistic is established here, so do not use those figures to predict your own consumption.
Which trim should you choose?
Choose Executive Tech when
- You want the 42 kWh CRETA Electric with the shared 10.25-inch displays, wireless smartphone integration, sunroof, ventilated seats and leather upholstery.
- You do not place a high value on a Bose audio system.
- Rear passengers rarely need a wireless charging pad.
- You are comfortable using the standard equipment shown on the matrix and would rather keep the purchase price lower if the dealer premium for Excellence is substantial.
- You plan to negotiate a wallbox separately and do not want to assume a charger is bundled.
- You prefer to direct the budget toward home electrical work, insurance or a larger charging reserve rather than cabin upgrades.
Choose Excellence when
- The dated local quote shows a manageable premium over Executive Tech.
- You specifically want Bose eight-speaker audio.
- Front and rear wireless charging is useful for your household.
- You value Hyundai’s listed ADAS-linked regenerative-braking feature and intend to use the related driver-assistance settings.
- The dealer confirms the exact equipment, battery terms and charging package in writing.
- You expect to keep the car for years and will use the added audio and charging convenience on most journeys, not just occasionally.
When the upgrade is difficult to justify
If the price gap is large and your priorities are the panoramic roof, ventilated seats, leather upholstery, large displays or wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Executive Tech already covers those listed items. Paying for Excellence then buys convenience and audio upgrades rather than a larger battery or a higher Hyundai-published range figure. The absence of a published trim premium means there is no universal break-even point; your own quote and usage pattern decide it.

A practical test-drive and handover checklist
- Verify the identity: Match the quotation, VIN documentation and vehicle screen to “Executive Tech” or standard-range “Excellence.” Reject assumptions based on a salesperson’s shorthand.
- Inspect the shared equipment: Open and close the panoramic roof, test both ventilated-seat controls, inspect the leather upholstery and confirm both 10.25-inch displays.
- Pair a phone: Test wireless Android Auto or Apple CarPlay with your own handset, not only the showroom phone.
- Test Excellence-specific items: Play audio through the Bose system, place phones on the front and rear charging pads and ask the representative to demonstrate ADAS-linked regenerative braking.
- Check charging: Confirm the portable cable is present and obtain written details of any optional 7.4 kW wallbox, installation scope and delivery timing.

Frequently asked questions
Does Executive Tech have a panoramic sunroof?
Yes. Hyundai’s feature matrix lists the panoramic sunroof on both Executive Tech and standard-range Excellence. It is not, by itself, a reason to pay for Excellence.
Is Excellence a 51.4 kWh long-range model?
Not the standard-range Excellence discussed here. Hyundai places both compared trims in the 42 kWh group and separately lists 51.4 kWh configurations with a 510 km manufacturer figure. Check for the LR designation before accepting a 510 km description.
Does Executive Tech include a wallbox?
The matrix does not list a standard wallbox for Executive Tech. It lists a portable charging cable for both trims, while the 7.4 kW wallbox is shown as optional for Excellence and selected higher configurations. Get charger and installation terms in writing.
Is the 420 km range realistic in daily driving?
It is Hyundai’s quoted vehicle-page figure for the 42 kWh configuration, not an independent real-world result. Speed, weather, air-conditioning use, payload, tyre pressure, terrain and charging habits affect actual distance.
What does BaaS change?
Hyundai’s BaaS format shows a starting vehicle price of ₹10.99 lakh and battery charges from ₹3.9 per kilometre. Those figures are not directly comparable with a purchased-battery ex-showroom price of ₹18,02,800 shown for the model on the product page. Compare battery ownership, kilometre billing, finance, electricity and warranty terms together.
Are Bose audio and wireless charging worth the premium?
They are worth considering when you frequently carry rear passengers, spend long periods listening to audio or value factory-integrated convenience. If those features are occasional luxuries and the local premium is high, Executive Tech retains the shared major cabin features.
What battery warranty is stated by Hyundai?
Hyundai’s July 2, 2026 BaaS announcement states eight years or 160,000 km, whichever comes first. Confirm exclusions, transfer rules and applicability to the exact purchased-battery or BaaS contract.

Bottom line
Excellence is the better-equipped trim because Hyundai lists Bose eight-speaker audio, dual-row wireless charging and ADAS-linked regenerative braking exclusively between these two variants. Executive Tech remains the rational value choice if you mainly want the shared 42 kWh powertrain, panoramic sunroof, ventilated leather seats, large displays and wireless smartphone integration. Since Hyundai does not publish a current, city-specific price delta for the two trims in the cited materials, buy Excellence only after a same-day like-for-like quote shows that its three additions justify the premium for your driving and passenger needs.
