The Chrysler Pacifica Hellcat is not a factory model, but the idea has finally moved beyond sketches. An independent build by the Tennessee-based Goonzquad channel has produced a one-off Pacifica powered by a Hellcat V-8 and reportedly making about 800 horsepower.
That is different from Chrysler selling an SRT minivan. The production Pacifica remains a family vehicle with a 287-hp 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6. The Hellcat-powered van is a heavily modified custom project—and that distinction matters.

Why the Pacifica Hellcat became such a compelling idea
Minivans are already unusually capable vehicles. They carry seven passengers, offer three rows of seating, have sliding doors that work in tight parking spaces and provide a huge amount of usable interior space. The Pacifica adds a relatively polished cabin, available all-wheel drive and Chrysler’s familiar Stow ’n Go seating system.
Now imagine combining that practicality with the supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 from a Dodge Challenger or Charger Hellcat. The result would be a vehicle that could take the family to school in the morning and embarrass sports cars at the stoplight afterward. That contrast is the entire appeal: a vehicle shaped like sensible transportation with the powertrain of a muscle car.
The idea was not invented by the recent YouTube build. In 2016, then-FCA design chief Ralph Gilles shared a sketch imagining a Hellcat-powered Pacifica. Later renderings, including work by Abimelec Design, gave the concept a more developed appearance. The imagined van featured a lowered stance, larger brakes, a hood scoop and prominent rear exhaust outlets.
That early concept was generally associated with the 707-hp version of the supercharged Hellcat V-8. It was never approved as a Chrysler production vehicle.
The real one-off Pacifica Hellcat
Goonzquad’s project is the closest thing to a real Pacifica Hellcat. The builders started with a 2021 Chrysler Pacifica and used a wrecked Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye as the donor vehicle. Reports describe the Pacifica as flood-damaged before the rebuild.
The completed vehicle was announced in December 2025 and described by Goonzquad as an approximately 800-hp Chrysler Pacifica. It retains the features that make a minivan useful: three rows, seating for seven and sliding side doors. From the outside, those practical details make the engine swap even more absurd—and more entertaining.
This was not a simple engine replacement. A Hellcat V-8 is much larger and more powerful than the Pacifica’s standard V-6, and the factory minivan was not designed around the Hellcat’s output. The conversion required substantial work in several areas:
Rank #2
- Eye-catching design that adds humor to your vehicle
- Perfect for families who love their minivan lifestyle
- Durable vinyl material ensures long-lasting wear
- Easy to apply and remove without leaving residue
- Great conversation starter for road trips and outings
- Engine and drivetrain: The donor Hellcat supplied the supercharged V-8 and related performance hardware, but integrating it with the Pacifica required custom installation and drivetrain work.
- Chassis and packaging: The engine bay, mounts, exhaust routing and surrounding components had to be adapted to accept the larger powertrain.
- Cooling: A supercharged V-8 producing roughly 800 hp generates far more heat than the stock 3.6-liter engine, so the project received additional cooling hardware.
- Suspension: Custom suspension work was needed to support the added weight and make the van controllable with its greatly increased performance.
- Brakes: More power demands more stopping ability, so the van received upgraded braking components.
- Exhaust and body details: The finished build uses custom fabrication rather than simply reproducing the standard Pacifica’s underbody layout.
The exact performance figures, acceleration times and long-term durability of the build should not be treated like factory test data. “About 800 hp” is the builder’s description, not a Chrysler certification or an independently published production specification.
What Chrysler actually sells
For the 2026 model year, Chrysler lists the Pacifica in Select, Limited and Pinnacle trims. Buyers can choose front-wheel drive, while all-wheel drive is available on applicable versions. The gasoline powertrain is a 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 producing 287 hp and 262 lb-ft of torque, paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission.

Do not confuse the Goonzquad van with Tavarish’s project
Another Hellcat Pacifica story involves YouTuber Freddy “Tavarish” Hernandez. In 2022, he announced plans to build an 800-hp Pacifica using a front-wheel-drive van and Hellcat-related components, with a possible SEMA debut.
That announcement is separate from the Goonzquad vehicle. The two projects should not be treated as the same van, and the available reporting on Tavarish’s project does not establish it as a completed Chrysler production vehicle. The safest description is that Tavarish announced a planned custom build, while Goonzquad completed and presented a different one-off conversion.

Why building one is harder than it sounds
The fantasy is straightforward: install the V-8, connect the transmission and enjoy a family van with muscle-car power. The engineering reality is much more complicated.
The original Pacifica’s structure, electronics, transmission, axles, cooling system and suspension were designed for a transverse-mounted V-6 and minivan duty. A Hellcat powertrain introduces more mass, more heat, more torque and much higher loads on every part that transfers power to the pavement. The builder must also make the engine communicate with the body-control modules, gauges, safety systems and transmission controls.
Traction is another major problem. A front-wheel-drive minivan with approximately 800 hp would struggle to use that power cleanly, especially on ordinary street tires. Wheel hop, torque steer and axle stress could all become serious issues. The donor and conversion hardware may also produce a layout that differs significantly from the factory Pacifica’s front-wheel-drive or available all-wheel-drive configuration.
Then there are the practical ownership questions: registration, emissions compliance, insurance, cooling in traffic, service access and the durability of custom-fabricated parts. A one-off vehicle can be brilliantly built and still require considerably more maintenance than a stock Pacifica.
Would Chrysler ever build one?
A factory Pacifica Hellcat would be entertaining, but it would be difficult to justify commercially. The Hellcat engine, reinforced drivetrain, upgraded brakes, cooling systems and validation work would add substantial cost. Chrysler would also need to engineer the van to meet crash, emissions, noise and durability requirements while preserving its family-friendly packaging.

There is a market for outrageous performance vehicles, but a three-row minivan with 700-plus horsepower would be a niche within a niche. A performance SUV offers Chrysler or Dodge a more obvious business case, and even those vehicles face difficult trade-offs between weight, traction, fuel economy and price.
That is why the unofficial version works so well as a fantasy. It does not need to satisfy a product planner, pass years of factory validation or fit a normal trim walk. It only needs to be mechanically possible and entertaining enough to justify the effort.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. So, is the Pacifica Hellcat the minivan of our dreams?
As a concept, absolutely. It combines the Pacifica’s most useful qualities—space, access and family practicality—with one of the most excessive modern V-8 powertrains. The visual incongruity is as appealing as the horsepower.
As a daily-production vehicle, the answer is less obvious. The custom build’s power, heat, traction demands and maintenance requirements would make it a very different proposition from a normal Pacifica. It is better understood as a spectacular sleeper and fabrication project than as a realistic alternative to a factory minivan.

The accurate takeaway is simple: Chrysler never built or sold a Pacifica Hellcat. The original 707-hp version was a design exercise, while Goonzquad’s roughly 800-hp van is a real, one-of-a-kind engine-swapped custom. That is still enough to make it one of the most entertaining minivan ideas ever put on wheels.

FAQ
Did Chrysler make a Pacifica Hellcat?
No. Chrysler has never sold a factory Pacifica Hellcat. The real Hellcat-powered Pacificas are independent custom builds, including Goonzquad’s one-off 2021 Pacifica conversion.
How much horsepower does the real Pacifica Hellcat have?
Goonzquad describes its completed Hellcat-swapped Pacifica as producing approximately 800 horsepower. That figure applies to the custom build, not to a Chrysler production model.
Was the Pacifica Hellcat originally supposed to have 707 horsepower?
The 707-hp figure belongs to the hypothetical 2016 Hellcat Pacifica concept. It was based on the Hellcat V-8 available at the time and never became a production vehicle.

1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsIs the Goonzquad Pacifica Hellcat the same vehicle as Tavarish’s project?
No. Tavarish announced a separate Pacifica Hellcat project in 2022. Goonzquad’s completed van used a 2021 Pacifica and a wrecked Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye as its donor vehicle.
The Bottom Line
Bottom line: The Chrysler Pacifica Hellcat is a dream brought partly to life by independent builders, not a factory model. Goonzquad’s roughly 800-hp, seven-seat conversion proves the concept can be built, but the standard 2026 and announced 2027 Pacificas remain 287-hp Pentastar V-6 minivans.
