Geely said its premium Lynk & Co Zero Concept EV would use Mobileye SuperVision, with consumers then expected to see the vehicle in late 2021. The available announcements do not establish whether that concept entered production under that name or its current retail status.
What Geely announced in 2020
On September 23, 2020, Mobileye said Geely Auto Group would use its SuperVision system in the Lynk & Co Zero Concept, a premium electric vehicle. The planned consumer launch was late 2021. EE Times reported the announcement two days later under the headline “China’s Geely to deploy Mobileye’s ‘Hands-Free’ ADAS.” Mobileye’s announcement and the EE Times report establish the original plan; they do not verify that the concept reached consumers as announced.
Mobileye president and CEO Amnon Shashua described the planned vehicle as a “brand-new, premium-model, L2+ electric vehicle (EV) from Lynk & Co – the Zero Concept – reaching consumers in late 2021.” That was a forecast at the time, not confirmation of a later production launch.
What Mobileye SuperVision was designed to do
Mobileye described SuperVision as a full-stack, camera-based advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS). Its announced hardware comprised two EyeQ5 system-on-chips and 11 cameras: seven long-range and four close-range cameras. Mobileye said the arrangement provided 360-degree surround view.

The announced assistance covered highway driving, navigation-based highway-to-highway driving, arterial roads and, in Mobileye’s description, operation “up to urban driving.” These are described capabilities and operating contexts, not evidence that the system can handle every road or situation without driver involvement.
“Hands-free” did not mean driverless
Mobileye classified SuperVision as L2+ driver assistance. “Hands-free” referred to the announced assistance capability in supported conditions; it did not mean the vehicle was autonomous or that a person could stop supervising the road. The driver’s responsibility is an essential distinction when interpreting the headline.

China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) later reinforced that distinction in its description of mandatory standard GB 47955—2026. The standard defines a combined driver-assistance system as helping control a vehicle laterally and longitudinally under specified operating conditions while the driver continues to observe traffic and control the vehicle. It covers system functions, data recording, manufacturer safety guarantees, human-machine interaction, user instructions and training. MIIT says the standard was approved and published on June 27, 2026, and is scheduled to take effect on January 1, 2027. MIIT’s standard announcement.
What Mobileye said about later Geely-group deployments
In September 2022, Mobileye said SuperVision was already in the ZEEKR 001 and that it planned to expand the system to three other Geely-group brands and two additional ZEEKR models. That update shows a broader deployment effort within the group, but it does not confirm that the original Lynk & Co Zero Concept entered production. Mobileye’s 2022 collaboration update.

What is—and is not—established about production
The announcements support a clear timeline: a 2020 design win for the Zero Concept, a planned late-2021 consumer launch, and Mobileye’s 2022 report of SuperVision in the ZEEKR 001 plus planned expansion to other group models. They do not establish the Zero Concept’s final production name, whether that original program reached production, or which retail models currently use SuperVision. A planned deployment and a supplier’s later expansion announcement should not be treated as proof of present availability.

In 2026, MIIT reported that combined driver-assistance functions were present in 70% of new passenger cars, and that navigation-assisted driving (NOA) appeared in more than 30% of models. These are broad China-market figures, not measurements of Geely or Mobileye adoption, and they do not establish SuperVision’s performance. MIIT’s 2026 announcement.

The distinction matters: market penetration describes how common a category of feature is, while a system’s capabilities, operating limits and availability depend on the particular vehicle and implementation.
