What is the 85-foot electric bus?
It is a reported Yutong battery-electric bus measuring 26 metres, or about 85 feet. The length and design were described by Futurism in its February 1, 2025 report, which said the Zhengzhou-based manufacturer had announced the vehicle. No primary Yutong announcement or technical sheet for this specific bus was identified, so the details should be understood as reported rather than independently confirmed.
“Bi-articulated” means the bus has two joints connecting sections of its body. That configuration allows a vehicle to be much longer than a conventional single-body bus, but the report does not provide this model’s passenger capacity or explain how it is configured for particular routes.

Futurism also reproduced a statement attributed to a Yutong-Mexico spokesperson and said it had been made to BusNews.com: “This bus can not only meet the pressing local demands for large-capacity and low-energy buses, but also fully consider the riding experience of passengers in Mexico,” The underlying BusNews report was not located, so the quotation is verified here only as reproduced by Futurism.
What specifications have been reported?
The reported length, two articulation joints and electric powertrain are the available model-specific details. Futurism did not give a passenger-capacity figure, battery size, driving range, charging time, price, route or in-service performance results. Those figures should not be inferred from other Yutong buses, whose specifications may differ.

For a transit agency assessing a bus of this size, the missing details matter as much as the headline length: capacity, turning and route requirements, charging infrastructure, and independently measured performance would all affect whether it suits a particular network. The available report does not establish those points for this vehicle.
What does the report say about Mexico’s electric-bus fleet?
Futurism cited E-Bus Radar for a figure of 744 electric buses in Mexico and described the country’s fleet as the fourth largest in Latin America, with the vast majority manufactured by Yutong. The original E-Bus Radar data was not retrieved, and the report does not specify the count’s reference date. Treat 744 as a figure cited in the 2025 report—not as a verified 2026 fleet total.
