If you are considering one, compare the exact local version and written offer rather than treating the S07’s international specifications as one package.
Is the Deepal S07 any good?
It has a strong case if you want a spacious five-seat electric SUV with a generously equipped cabin. Top Gear’s 2026 UK review praises the progressive acceleration, steering and braking, controlled road and wind noise, and generous rear legroom. The trade-offs it identifies are weaker efficiency than rivals, slower claimed charging, a screen interface that can frustrate, and a ride that may feel rubbery over sharper, high-frequency bumps. Top Gear’s review could not independently measure efficiency on its drive: the reviewer could not reset the trip computer without logging in as the owner.

The specification evidence describes a rear-wheel-drive, five-seat SUV with a 160 kW motor in the Greek and German versions. That is a useful starting point, not a promise that every country’s car has identical equipment or specifications.

Published range figures differ by market and test cycle, so they should not be compared as if they were equivalent. Greece’s official specifications and Germany’s ADAC listing give 475 km WLTP. Changan UK’s September 2025 launch announcement quoted up to 295 miles WLTP. Indonesia’s official model page gives 560 km NEDC, a different test cycle that should not be read as a directly comparable real-world or WLTP range.

Germany’s ADAC listing also gives WLTP consumption of 18.6 kWh/100 km. That is a published test-cycle figure, not a promise of what a driver will achieve. Top Gear criticizes the S07’s efficiency relative to rivals but did not obtain an independent consumption figure during its review.
How long does the Deepal S07 take to charge?
Published charging windows vary by market and starting battery level. Greece’s official page quotes 48 minutes for DC charging from 10% to 80%; Changan Indonesia quotes 35 minutes from 30% to 80%. Top Gear reports claimed UK charging times of 47 minutes for 10% to 80% and 35 minutes for 30% to 80%. These are stated charging windows, not a complete charging curve or a guarantee for every charger and condition.

Top Gear describes the S07’s charging as slow compared with stronger rivals. When comparing it with another SUV, look for the full charging curve and an independently observed stop time, not just the peak rate or one quoted percentage window. ADAC lists a Type 2 AC connection for its German version; confirm the inlet and whether a cable is included on the specific car you are buying.
How much does a Deepal S07 cost?
These are market-specific published figures, not directly comparable current transaction offers. UK pricing below was announced at launch; the Indonesian price is explicitly indicative and for Jakarta.

For a meaningful comparison, get a dated, itemized local offer and compare equipment, delivery costs, incentives and warranty coverage on the same basis. The available prices do not establish a universal S07 price.
What is the Deepal S07 like to drive?
Top Gear’s UK road test reports progressive acceleration and well-judged steering and braking, alongside a refined cabin that keeps road and wind noise under control. It also finds generous room for rear passengers. The ride is less convincing on high-frequency bumps, where it can feel rubbery; the boot is broad but shallow, and the review notes a front storage compartment about the size of a cabin bag.

Those are observations from one road test, not a guarantee that every driver will find the ride or interface the same. In particular, try the touchscreen and drive the car over the kinds of roads you use before deciding whether its comfort and controls suit you.
What equipment does the S07 offer?
Changan UK’s September 2025 launch specification highlighted a rotating 15.6-inch touchscreen, an augmented-reality head-up display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a 14-speaker sound system. Treat those as UK launch equipment claims; check the current local trim and written specification to confirm what is fitted to a particular car.

For the Greek version, Changan lists dimensions of 4,750 × 1,930 × 1,625 mm, a 2,900 mm wheelbase, five seats and 20-inch wheels with 255/45 R20 Dunlop tyres. Its page notes that configurations can change. ADAC’s German listing reports a 445-litre rear boot and a 125-litre front trunk. Those figures are tied to their cited market specifications, not guaranteed for every S07.
How does the Deepal S07 compare with the Tesla Model Y or Skoda Enyaq?
Top Gear names the Tesla Model Y and Skoda Enyaq among the S07’s competitors, alongside the Kia EV6, Renault Scenic, MG S5, BYD Atto 3, Geely EX5, Smart #3, Omoda E5, Zeekr 7X and XPeng G6. The evidence here does not provide matching prices or test results for those cars, so it cannot support a reliable numerical ranking against either the Model Y or Enyaq.

What warranty does the Deepal S07 have?
Changan UK’s launch release stated a vehicle warranty of 7 years or 100,000 miles and a battery warranty of 8 years or 120,000 miles. These are UK launch-announcement terms, not proof of the warranty offered in another country or on a current offer. Ask the local seller for the applicable written terms, including coverage conditions, before purchase.
