CFMOTO has revealed a high-performance V4 superbike prototype, but it has not confirmed that the V4 SR-RR will reach production. The company says the prototype reached a GPS-recorded 315.82 km/h in a closed-course run in 2026. That is a notable claim, not proof that the bike can match established Japanese or European superbikes in road legality, price, reliability or racing.
What CFMOTO has actually revealed
CFMOTO showed the V4 SR-RR prototype at EICMA 2025. The company presented it as one of its performance concepts and prototypes, not as a finished retail motorcycle. Its EICMA announcement described the bike as a prototype.
In a June 15, 2026 announcement, CFMOTO reported that the V4 SR-RR reached a GPS top speed of 315.82 km/h at a closed proving ground in Shangrao. The company says the test was supervised and documented by the National Motorcycle Quality Inspection and Testing Center (Chongqing) and the Hangzhou Notary Office. The speed and test details are CFMOTO’s account; they do not constitute an independent comparison with rival production bikes.

These are manufacturer figures for the prototype, not confirmed final specifications for a retail model. The dry-weight figure also should not be treated as a ready-to-ride weight.

Is the CFMOTO V4 SR-RR coming to production?
Production, release timing and road approval are unconfirmed. CFMOTO’s New Zealand regional announcement explicitly calls the V4 SR-RR a concept and says there are no confirmed production or release plans. CFMOTO UK lists the price as TBC and says it has not announced whether the motorcycle will be a road bike or track-only machine.
The UK page says further news may arrive around EICMA 2026. That is not a promise of a launch or even a specific announcement. Until CFMOTO confirms otherwise, treat the V4 SR-RR as a prototype rather than a motorcycle buyers can order.

Does the speed run make it a threat to Japanese and European superbikes?
It makes the V4 SR-RR an ambitious project, but a top-speed figure alone cannot establish that it competes with production superbikes. A fair comparison needs to match the bikes’ status, market and conditions. Relevant questions include:
- Road legality: Is the CFMOTO homologated for public roads, or intended only for a track?
- Price and availability: What will it cost, where will it be sold, and when?
- Comparable specifications: Are output and weight measured and reported on the same basis?
- Equipment: What electronic rider aids, braking systems and aerodynamic features make the final model?
- Ownership support: What warranty, dealer coverage and parts supply will be available in each market?
- Independent performance evidence: How does a production-spec bike perform in controlled tests or competition?
The currently established information does not answer those questions across rival models. CFMOTO vice-president Chen Zhiyong linked the speed result to the company’s development and racing efforts; that is the company’s explanation, not independent proof of comparative race performance.
