CFMOTO has shown the CF-X as an electric motocross concept, but the available official material does not confirm a production model, release date, price, range, charging details, or sales markets. The company says its concept delivers acceleration comparable to a conventional 450cc bike; it has not published a numerical power figure or independent test results in the cited report.
Is the CFMOTO CF-X coming out?
CFMOTO introduced the CF-X at EICMA 2024 as an electric motocross concept. That establishes that the company has presented a project, not that a finished motorcycle is confirmed for sale. CFMOTO’s 2025 EICMA announcement promoted other products, concepts, and prototypes, but the available announcement material does not provide a CF-X production update. That does not establish whether the project has changed or been cancelled.
CFMOTO France said on 3 November 2023 that its first fully electric motocross bike was in development, using the name EVMX for a camouflaged bike presented in a video by motocross rider and brand ambassador Ronnie Renner. The later global and Australian announcements use the CF-X name. The available material does not explicitly confirm whether EVMX and CF-X are the same development program.
What performance and design has CFMOTO claimed?
In its EICMA 2024 report, CFMOTO Australia described the CF-X as having instant torque and acceleration comparable to a conventional 450cc engine. That is the manufacturer’s comparison: the report does not state a measured power output or document an independent comparison.

There is therefore no official figure here for distance per charge, charging time, charger type, or battery swapping. Those details, along with final specifications, production timing, price, and market availability, remain unconfirmed in the available sources.

How does CF-X differ from CFX-5E and CX-5E?
CF-X is the electric motocross concept. CFX-5E and CX-5E are separate electric off-road products described for younger riders in regional CFMOTO materials; their figures are not CF-X specifications.

The CFX-5E figures come from a Philippines-market product listing, while the CX-5E figures come from a 2023 Australian announcement. They describe different models and markets and should not be treated as a direct like-for-like comparison. Neither establishes CF-X performance.

What buyers should verify before treating CF-X as a purchase option
Until CFMOTO publishes a production specification and market details, prospective buyers cannot use the concept report to assess the CF-X as a retail motorcycle. Look for an official confirmation covering:
- Whether the CF-X will enter production, and when orders or deliveries might begin.
- Final motor output, battery capacity, weight, range, and the conditions used for any range claim.
- Charging equipment, charging time, battery replacement or swapping, and battery warranty.
- Price, intended markets, homologation or competition-use status, and regional dealer and service support.
CFMOTO’s “450cc-equivalent” wording alone does not answer those questions: it is a performance comparison, not a published power rating or a complete measure of how the bike will perform on a track.
