What the “2023” headline gets wrong
The year and “here to prey on” wording suggest a confirmed 2023 launch and a direct competitive campaign. The official material cited here supports neither claim. CFMOTO Australia announced the 450CL-C as a MY24 model on 10 April 2024, with availability expected in mid-April. India Kawasaki announced its MY24 Eliminator on 3 January 2024. Those dates establish announcements for those markets, not a shared global launch timeline.
CFMOTO’s 2024 EICMA recap lists the 450CL-C among displayed CL Series models, but an exhibition listing does not establish when retail sales began. Nor do the sources establish that the 450CL-C displaced Eliminator sales. The more defensible story is a comparison between two similar-displacement cruisers.

The figures come from different markets and, for weight, different measurement conventions. They are useful for understanding each bike’s published specifications, not for declaring a direct winner on price or weight.

Engine and final drive
CFMOTO Australia specifies a 449.5cc liquid-cooled parallel twin with a 270-degree crank for the 450CL-C. Kawasaki Motors USA describes the Eliminator as a 451cc parallel twin; India Kawasaki’s MY24 release says its engine is based on the Ninja 400 platform with a longer stroke. The small displacement difference does not by itself establish which motorcycle is quicker, smoother, or more enjoyable to ride.
CFMOTO specifies a Gates belt final drive for the cited Australia-market 450CL-C. That is a concrete ownership distinction for a buyer who prefers a belt drive, but the cited Kawasaki US page does not establish a comparable final-drive detail. Check the exact local model specification rather than inferring it from another market or model year.

Seat height, weight, and day-to-day manageability
The cited Australia-market 450CL-C has a 690mm seat; Kawasaki’s current US page gives the Eliminator a 28.9-inch seat. Those published heights are close, but they do not settle which bike will feel easier to manage. Seat width and shape, suspension sag, footwear, and how the bike balances at a stop all affect reach and confidence. Sit on both with the suspension loaded if possible, and test the stopping and low-speed maneuvers that matter in your riding.
Weight is not a sound basis for a direct ranking from these figures: CFMOTO reports 181kg wet, while Kawasaki gives an estimated 359.4lb dry for the Eliminator’s non-ABS trim. Wet and dry measurements include different amounts of operating fluids, and Kawasaki’s figure is an estimate. A like-for-like comparison would require weights stated under the same convention and for specified trims.

Equipment and riding position
CFMOTO Australia lists dual-channel ABS and traction control on the 450CL-C. Kawasaki’s current US product page emphasizes the Eliminator’s upright riding position and low seat. That page’s emphasis is not proof that a particular Eliminator trim lacks a feature; equipment can vary by trim, model year, and country. Compare the exact local specifications before treating either bike’s equipment as a decisive advantage.
Specifications also cannot substitute for a head-to-head ride. The cited manufacturer material does not establish which bike is more comfortable, handles better, or performs better on the road. A test ride is the practical way to assess reach, posture, clutch feel, and low-speed behavior for your body and routes.

CFMOTO Australia’s 10 April 2024 MY24 announcement listed an Australian suggested ride-away price of AUD $8,490, expected mid-April availability, Nebula Black and Ruby Red color options, and a three-year factory warranty program. These are launch statements, not confirmation of current stock, price, or warranty terms. Confirm current conditions with an authorized local dealer.
India Kawasaki’s 3 January 2024 announcement priced the MY24 Eliminator at INR 562,000 ex-showroom in India. It also listed accessories including a rear carrier, tank pad, radiator screen, and frame sliders. That Indian ex-showroom figure is not directly comparable with CFMOTO Australia’s ride-away price: the country, date, currency, and price basis differ.

For a meaningful buying comparison, ask dealers in your market for written out-the-door quotes and confirm the model year, included fees, warranty coverage, service intervals and costs, parts availability, and whether a test ride is available.
