The Cedar Ridge Campers Vega 2.0 XT is the higher-clearance version of the company’s compact teardrop camper, with 21 inches of listed ground clearance, a 3,500-pound axle-less suspension and a small enclosed sleeping cabin paired with an outdoor kitchen. It is more ruggedly specified than the Vega AT, but “extreme terrain” is a product designation, not a standardized certification or proof of performance on any particular trail.
What the Vega 2.0 XT is
The Vega 2.0 is a compact, build-to-order teardrop from Cedar Ridge Campers, offered in All Terrain (AT) and eXtreme Terrain (XT) configurations. The XT measures 14 feet long, 86 inches wide and 80 inches high with its awning, according to the manufacturer. Its 58-by-78-inch sleeping area is smaller than a standard 60-by-80-inch queen mattress, and it comes with a 4-inch memory-foam mattress.
The layout is designed around sleeping inside and cooking outside. The manufacturer lists a sink and Cook Partner stove on a slide-out, an integrated shower, and a Truma Combi water heater and furnace. Those systems make the trailer self-contained for several camp routines, but the galley and shower are not inside the sleeping cabin.
Vega AT vs. XT: what changes
The XT’s main distinction is its running gear and clearance. The current manufacturer specifications list the following differences; prices are starting prices shown on the product page and may change.

The XT’s extra three inches of listed clearance and larger wheel-and-tire package are relevant when comparing the versions for rougher routes. They do not establish that either configuration is suitable for a particular trail: ground clearance is only one factor, and the manufacturer’s “eXtreme Terrain” label is not a third-party trail rating.

These are manufacturer-published specifications, not independent measurements or a guarantee of how long the power system will run a particular load. Confirm what is included in the exact build and ask how optional equipment affects weight and price.
Galley design: useful tradeoff, not a universal advantage
In its 2023 launch coverage, New Atlas described the stove and sink as a separate slide-out, leaving a larger continuous counter area for food preparation. That arrangement has a practical cost: the slide-out occupies space that could otherwise hold a cooler or refrigerator. New Atlas reported that a front storage box could be used for an optional fridge. Whether the tradeoff works for you depends on how you prepare and store food.

What tow vehicle can pull a Vega 2.0?
The manufacturer lists the XT at 1,800 lb dry and 195 lb tongue weight before additional tongue options. Those figures are not the loaded, ready-to-tow weight of a buyer’s trailer. Cargo, water, options and other equipment add weight, and the actual tongue load can change with how the trailer is loaded. The published figures therefore do not prove that a particular vehicle can tow it.
Before ordering or towing, compare the specific trailer’s loaded weight and tongue load with the tow vehicle’s ratings—not just its advertised maximum tow rating. Check the vehicle’s towing capacity, payload, hitch rating and axle limits, and account for occupants and cargo carried in the vehicle. Confirm the trailer’s final configuration and weights with Cedar Ridge, then check the vehicle and hitch documentation for the applicable limits.

Current price and model-year context
Cedar Ridge’s current product page lists starting prices of $39,995 for the XT and $36,995 for the AT, accessed in 2026. These are live-page figures, not a fixed quote; verify the price and included equipment with the manufacturer before ordering.
The 2023 launch report listed the XT at $34,500 and the AT at $31,500 at that time. It also described a 100 W detachable solar panel and a 1,500 W inverter, rather than the 200 W solar system and 2,000 W inverter listed on the current manufacturer page. Treat those as launch-era details, not current specifications.

What the specs can—and cannot—tell you
Cedar Ridge describes the Vega 2.0 as having a fiberglass-composite body and galvanized steel frame. The published component list and dimensions help explain the XT’s intended positioning, but the available information does not establish long-term durability or verified performance on specified trails. No independent controlled durability or extreme-trail test is established here, so claims that it is proven to outlast competitors or handle any trail would go beyond the evidence.
For the current configuration, consult Cedar Ridge’s Vega 2.0 specifications and use its manufacturer site to check ordering details. Specifications, options and prices can change; the actual build sheet should govern a purchase decision.
