CATL says its NING SERVICE centre in Oslo opened on 24 September 2026. At 8,000 square metres, it is the company’s largest such centre outside Asia and is intended to serve Norway and the wider Nordic region. The facility combines battery lifecycle services with technician training, but CATL has not published consumer booking terms, prices or a list of eligible vehicles.
What the Oslo centre is—and what it is meant to do
CATL describes NING SERVICE as its battery aftermarket brand. The Oslo site is part of the company’s European battery lifecycle network and is intended to bring service, training and customer-facing activities together. CATL also says the centre will operate as a brand experience space and sales agent for emerging electric applications such as vessels, electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft (eVTOLs), and robotics. These are CATL’s descriptions of the site’s remit, not confirmation that every service or application is available to every vehicle owner. CATL’s 24 September 2026 announcement gives the opening date and facility details.
CATL says the centre is intended to serve Norway and the wider Nordic region. The announcement names local partner YES-EU, but does not spell out how customers in Norway or other Nordic countries can access the centre’s services.

The company says its wider service scope includes transport, energy storage and robotics. Its announcement does not establish that all listed services are immediately available in Oslo, or that they apply to every make and model. It also provides no public price list, booking instructions, vehicle eligibility list or consumer warranty schedule.
Why the announcement emphasizes repair
CATL presents the centre as part of a shift away from replacing whole battery packs and toward repairing batteries where possible. The company says complex-repair turnaround has fallen from 72 hours to 48 hours and that its deep-repair capability covers 76.8% of EV models. CATL also says its Intelligent Eagle Eye System is used in more than 150 repair facilities for traceability and quality control. In an August 2026 update, the company said the system monitors more than 150 deep-repair points and described its repair approach as using original-equipment standards and parts. CATL’s 10 August 2026 NING SERVICE update provides that additional company context.

Those figures are CATL’s claims. The announcements do not provide an independent audit or enough methodology to determine how the turnaround period, model coverage or system use was measured. They should not be read as a guaranteed repair time or an assurance that a particular car’s battery can be repaired.
For an EV owner weighing repair against replacement, the practical questions remain vehicle-specific: whether the pack is eligible for repair, what an independent battery-health assessment shows, the quoted cost and downtime, what warranty applies to the work and parts, and whether the provider is qualified for high-voltage battery work. CATL has not published answers for customers considering the Oslo centre.

Training plans and the circular-economy rationale
CATL says Oslo is planned as NING SERVICE’s main training hub in the Nordic region. It says its technician-training network spans 39 European countries and includes 14 experienced instructors, and that Oslo will offer CATL-certified courses and practical training. The company also says it plans closer cooperation with Norwegian universities and technical institutions; the announcement does not name specific courses or confirm that those partnerships have begun.
CATL links repair, second-life use and recycling to its Global Energy Circularity Commitment, launched with the Ellen MacArthur Foundation. The stated aim is to keep batteries in use at high value for longer and recover materials for new batteries. Miranda Schnitger, the foundation’s Climate Lead, said: “In a circular economy, batteries stay in use at their highest value for as long as possible, and their materials are recovered to make new ones.” This explains the initiative’s stated rationale; it is not evidence of measured environmental savings from the Oslo centre.

Where Oslo fits in CATL’s service network
CATL reports that NING SERVICE had 1,394 service locations across 85 countries and regions when it announced the Oslo opening. It has set goals of reaching 100 countries and regions by 2027 and 10,000 service locations by 2030; those are future targets, not achieved totals. In an August 2026 brand-day announcement, CATL said ten directly operated experience centres—including Norway and Türkiye—opened simultaneously and that more directly operated centres were expected to launch in 100 cities in the second half of 2026. The later September announcement identifies 24 September as the Oslo centre’s opening date.
The company also cited Norway’s electric-vehicle market as context, saying battery-electric vehicles represented 98.7% of new passenger-car registrations in August 2026 and electric buses exceeded 60% of bus and coach registrations. CATL’s release does not identify the underlying registration dataset, so these should be treated as company-published figures rather than statistics attributed to a named Norwegian authority.

YES-EU Group founder and chairman Benedikt G. Gudmundsson said the partnership could combine CATL’s technology and industry expertise with YES-EU’s local knowledge and service capabilities to build a stronger Nordic battery service ecosystem. CATL’s Bruce Li, President of Quality Systems, Aftermarket Business Division, said the company would work with local partners to provide services for Norway’s EV market. These are statements of intent; the announcement does not set out consumer access arrangements.
