The Casio Edifice Honda Type R Edition is a distinctive analog-digital watch for Honda fans, with Championship White details and Type R references backed by practical features: Tough Solar charging, Bluetooth smartphone link, sapphire crystal and 100-meter water resistance. Its substantial case and old-model status matter as much as its styling: fit and current availability need checking before purchase.
What makes this a Type R collaboration?
Casio’s international model is the ECB-2200HTR-1A. Its collaboration details are specific rather than limited to a logo: Casio says the dial ring uses authentic Honda Championship White paint, with a red “H” badge at the dial center and a honeycomb dial motif. Type R vehicle model codes are printed on the white leather strap, spanning references from the NSX NA1 to the current Civic FL5, according to Casio.

The strap underside is Alcantara, with red stitching. Type R marks also appear on the band loop and case back; the deployment buckle carries a Honda logo, and the stopwatch button has an “R” mark. These details give the watch a clear enthusiast identity without requiring the buyer to infer it from a generic motorsport color scheme.
Casio describes the case as carbon fiber-reinforced resin, while its basic specification table summarizes the case and bezel material as carbon/stainless steel. Those descriptions are not identical, so it is more accurate to retain the distinction than to call the watch wholly carbon.

What does it offer as a daily watch?
This is an analog-digital watch with Casio’s Tough Solar charging system and Bluetooth connection to the CASIO WATCHES app. Casio describes its Smartphone Link, solar charging, high-brightness LED light and sapphire crystal as practical features; that is the manufacturer’s description, not an independent performance assessment.
Power and smartphone link
Casio estimates approximately seven months of operation after a full charge without further solar charging, or approximately 18 months when stored in darkness with power saving enabled after a full charge. These are manufacturer estimates, not independent measurements; actual charging and runtime depend on light exposure and use.
When linked to the app, Casio lists automatic time adjustment, settings, world time, stopwatch-data transfer, Time & Place, and phone finder. App and device compatibility, as well as continued software support, should be checked against current requirements rather than assumed.
Timekeeping and other functions
- World time: 38 time zones, represented by 38 cities plus UTC.
- Stopwatch: measures to 1/100 second during the first 60 minutes; Casio also lists stopwatch-data transfer through the app.
- Countdown timer: up to 60 minutes.
- Alarms: five daily alarms.
- Other functions: hand shift, phone finder and double LED illumination.
Casio lists accuracy of ±15 seconds per month without mobile link. This is a specification, not a result measured for this review.

The crystal is sapphire with an anti-reflective coating. Casio also lists Neobrite and double LED illumination. Those materials and features are promising on paper, but this review does not establish how the crystal handles scratches or glare, or how readable the display is in darkness.
Casio specifies water resistance of 100 meters (10 bar). That rating is not a blanket guarantee for every aquatic activity; check the manual for activity-specific limits and care instructions.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How large is it, and will it fit?
Casio lists dimensions of 47.6 × 48.2 × 11.9 mm and a weight of 68 g. The compatible band size is 175–215 mm. The face has a substantial footprint, which may be a drawback for smaller wrists, but dimensions alone cannot establish comfort or fit. Compare them with a watch you already wear or try this model on if possible.
Is it limited edition, and can you still buy it?
Casio labels the international ECB-2200HTR-1A listing “Old Model.” The Japanese regional listing uses the suffix ECB-2200HTR-1AJR and marks that listing discontinued. These labels establish the status of Casio’s listings, not whether every retailer has sold through its stock. Casio’s pages describe a collaboration model; they do not establish that it was a numbered limited edition.

Price, current stock, warranty terms and seller authenticity are retailer-dependent and are not established here. Check the exact model number and seller’s terms before buying; a search for “Casio ECB-2200HTR-1A Honda Type R watch” is more useful than assuming a particular listing is in stock. Replacement-band fit and genuine replacement-part availability have not been established, so do not assume an ordinary strap will fit.
Who is this watch for?
- A good match: a Honda Type R enthusiast who values the white-and-red collaboration details and wants solar charging, app-linked functions and a sapphire crystal.
- Think twice if: you prefer a compact case, need confirmed stock or warranty coverage before considering a model, or want independently verified performance claims.
On specifications, the ECB-2200HTR-1A combines a strong automotive identity with a useful set of everyday functions. Whether it is “good” for a particular buyer comes down to wrist fit, the value they place on the Type R details and the terms of the specific listing—not a performance test this review has not conducted.
