The US$35,000 Tron Lightcycle was a historical custom-replica offer reported in 2010, not a verified current price or an active listing. Coverage described five planned builds, but does not establish that all five were completed, that any are for sale now, or that one can be registered for road use.
What the US$35,000 offer included
New Atlas reported on July 1, 2010, that Parker Brothers Choppers planned to build five individually numbered Lightcycle replicas and offer them for US$35,000 apiece. The reported specification included 22-by-12-inch hubless rims with custom tires, illuminated accents, and a buyer’s choice of a combustion engine or a high-powered electric motor. The article also said the seller intended the bikes for street use. New Atlas’s 2010 report documents what was advertised then; it does not establish current terms or regulatory approval.
Visordown’s May 10, 2024 update added reported design details: dual hubless wheels, custom Hoosier drag tires, a hardened-steel frame, carbon-fiber and fiberglass bodywork, switchable illuminated accents, and electric or petrol power. That later article does not verify a current listing, completed builds, or a present-day manufacturer specification. Read Visordown’s update.
What is known—and what is not
- Price: US$35,000 per replica was the figure New Atlas reported for the 2010 offer. It is not a current asking price or market valuation.
- Quantity: The offer described five individually numbered builds as a plan. The available coverage does not establish that all five were completed.
- Prop versus running replica: HeyUGuys reported that the movie promotional prop was not a running version and that the proposed bikes would have different accent colors. These are reported seller claims, not independently verified build or delivery records. See the HeyUGuys report.
- Current availability: The cited coverage does not establish current inventory, an active sales listing, or a verified transaction.
Electric or combustion: the advertised choice
The 2010 report described electric and combustion power as alternatives, but did not provide comparable output, range, speed, maintenance requirements, price premiums, or verified performance. The later Visordown account likewise does not establish those figures. There is therefore no evidence-based way to rank the proposed powertrains for cost or performance.

Does “intended for street use” mean it is road legal?
No. New Atlas reported the seller’s intention that the bikes be used on the street, but that statement is not proof that a particular replica met inspection, equipment, emissions, or registration rules. Requirements depend on the jurisdiction and the individual vehicle. The cited reports provide no official road-legal documentation, so registration eligibility remains unverified.

Because the old advertised offer does not establish present-day availability, a buyer would need current, vehicle-specific evidence before treating a Lightcycle replica as purchasable or road-ready. Ask for:
