How should its claims be compared with other BYD hybrids?
BYD uses DM to mean “Dual Mode,” describing EV and HEV operating modes in its official SEALION 5 DM-i release. That is a separate vehicle, and its WLTP range and efficiency figures do not apply to Song Ultra DM-i.
The same distinction matters when looking at the Song Pro DM-i product page: its advertised 3.79 L/100 km NEDC depleted-battery figure and 1,400 km combined range are Song Pro claims, not Song Ultra specifications. For a meaningful PHEV comparison, check the market and trim, battery capacity, electric-range test cycle, depleted-battery consumption cycle, combined-range methodology, and whether driver-assistance equipment or LiDAR is standard or optional.
