When did the BYD Seal 06 DM-i debut?
BYD’s Ocean series presented the Seal 06 DM-i at Auto China 2024 in Beijing on April 25. Xinhua’s report the following day described it as a new midsize sedan in the Ocean line and said it was expected to launch in the second quarter of 2024. Xinhua News, April 26, 2024

The launch range was lower than the RMB 120,000–150,000 range reported around the Beijing show. BYD’s China model page, accessed October 7, 2026, continues to list ¥99,800–¥139,800. These are China-market prices; they do not establish prices or availability elsewhere.

What is the Seal 06 DM-i?
It is a plug-in hybrid sedan in BYD’s Ocean series. CnEVPost reported that the Seal 06 DM-i and the separate Qin L DM-i—part of BYD’s Dynasty series—launched on the same day and were among the first models using BYD’s fifth-generation DM technology. In its show-period report, Xinhua also listed a 2,790 mm wheelbase and described a hybrid-specific platform and independent rear suspension. BYD later announced a European-market SEAL 6 DM-i sedan and Touring, with separate trim specifications. For the sedan, BYD’s European specification table lists WLTP combined electric range of 55 km for Boost and 105 km for higher-battery trims. For the Touring, it lists 50 km and 100 km respectively. These are European, body-style- and trim-specific WLTP figures; they should not be applied to the China-market Seal 06 DM-i or treated as universal real-world range. BYD Europe Media

BYD said the European SEAL 6 DM-i was available to order in many European markets. That announcement does not establish availability in every country; buyers should check their local BYD market site or authorized retailer for current trims, prices and delivery information.
