BYD’s Atto 2 and Sealion 7 have already launched in Pakistan: Mega Motor Company (MMC), BYD’s local partner, introduced both models in January 2026. The earlier claim that two new BYD electric cars would arrive by the end of the year is therefore out of date. The separate question of local manufacturing remains open: plans for a plant have been reported, but the sources available do not confirm that it had started production by October 7, 2026.
Which two BYD cars launched in Pakistan?
The two models were the BYD Atto 2 and BYD Sealion 7. A February 2026 portfolio update from HUBCO, filed with the Pakistan Stock Exchange, records that MMC added both to its lineup in January. Business Recorder also reported their Pakistan launch on January 27, 2026, quoting BYD Pakistan Country Head Lei Jian: “We are delighted to introduce two of our highest-selling models to Pakistan.”
BYD Pakistan’s official local site currently lists the Atto 2 and Sealion 7 alongside the Atto 3, Seal and Shark 6. The models can be checked on BYD Pakistan’s official site.

Has BYD started manufacturing cars in Pakistan?
The confirmed status in the available dated reporting is construction, not production. On June 18, 2026, Pakistan’s Finance Division said BYD and MMC discussed operations and future plans, and that the local manufacturing facility was under construction and progressing according to schedule. That statement does not establish that assembly had begun.
A September 2026 report by Dawn, citing a Topline Securities note, described a plan to bring HUBCO’s assembly plant online in the second half of 2026. It reported planned capacity of 25,000 units per year, scalable to 50,000. Those figures describe intended capacity, not vehicles produced; the report does not confirm that production had started by October 7, 2026.

In September, ProPakistani reported that BYD presented a locally assembled Sealion 6 at PAPS 2026. That presentation is a separate development and does not, by itself, establish that the plant had begun regular production or that locally assembled vehicles were on sale.

The cited sources do not establish current Pakistan-specific prices, delivery estimates, variant-by-variant specifications, warranty terms, or whether the Atto 2 or Sealion 7 will be among the first locally assembled models. Buyers should confirm those details with MMC or the official local model pages rather than rely on specifications or prices from another country, where trims and equipment may differ.
