BYD customer deliveries in Pakistan were underway by March 1, 2025, with buyers receiving vehicles in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad. The deliveries were handled through Mega Motor Company (MMC), BYD’s distributor in Pakistan. They followed the brand’s 2024 launch in the country and preceded later model introductions and plans for local assembly.
When did BYD start deliveries in Pakistan?
On March 1, 2025, Dawn reported that BYD and MMC had begun customer deliveries, with vehicles already reaching customers in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad. The companies said they aimed to deliver up to 100 vehicles in the first 48 hours of operations; that was a stated target, not a confirmed delivery count.
The delivery start was not the same as BYD’s first presence or brand launch in Pakistan. HUBCO’s FY2024 presentation, distributed through the Pakistan Stock Exchange, records that BYD was launched in Pakistan under MMC in August 2024. It also documents the distributorship agreement between MMC and BYD Auto Industry Company for new energy vehicles (NEVs) in Pakistan.
What is MMC’s role?
MMC is BYD’s Pakistan distributor. HUBCO’s FY2024 presentation traces MMC’s establishment through a wholly owned subsidiary and records its BYD distributorship agreement. PACRA later described MMC as BYD’s sole authorized distributor in Pakistan in its July 14, 2026 entity rating release.

At the time of the August 2024 presentation, a technical licensing agreement was still under negotiation and an assembly plant in Sindh was a plan. Those details help distinguish the distributor and import-based launch from local manufacturing: the initial deliveries did not establish that BYD vehicles were already being assembled in Pakistan.
How did the launch develop?
March 2025: first customer deliveries
Alongside the first deliveries, BYD and MMC said Experience and Care centres were operating in key locations in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad. They planned a total of 15 centres during 2025, according to Dawn. The report documents the announced plan, not that all 15 centres opened.
January 2026: two more electric SUVs introduced
Dawn reported that BYD launched the electric SUVs Sealion 7 and Atto 2 at a Lahore dealership event on January 27, 2026. The same report described a BYD-MMC and HubcoGreen charging corridor project of approximately 1,300 kilometres from Karachi to Peshawar as being built at that time. That report does not establish the corridor’s later completion or current operating status.

March 2026: a one-day ATTO 2 delivery milestone
Business Recorder reported on March 20, 2026, that MMC delivered 100 BYD ATTO 2 vehicles nationwide in a single day through experience centres and dealerships in multiple cities. This is a reported one-day milestone, not a cumulative sales total.
Which BYD vehicles are listed in Pakistan?
As accessed on October 7, 2026, the official BYD Pakistan / Mega Motor website listed ATTO 2, ATTO 3, SEAL, SEALION 7 and SHARK 6, with options to book, arrange a test drive, find locations and explore charging information. The site’s lineup is a current listing, not a guarantee of stock, price or delivery timing; those details can change.
Show announcements can differ from the distributor’s current web listing. At Pakistan Auto Show 2026, ProPakistani reported a lineup that included ATTO 2, SHARK 6 Anniversary Edition, SEALION 6 and DENZA B8. A show presentation should not be read as confirmation that each model is currently available to order through the official Pakistan lineup.

Is BYD assembling vehicles locally in Pakistan?
PACRA’s July 14, 2026 release described MMC as operating under a completely built unit (CBU) import model while developing completely knocked down (CKD) assembly at Gharo, District Thatta. It reported a 73-acre facility, targeted annual capacity of 25,000 units on a double-shift basis, and completion expected by the end of 2026. These are PACRA-reported facility plans and targets, not evidence of completed production or achieved capacity.
Separately, ProPakistani reported on September 18, 2026, that local assembly of the Sealion 6 was targeted to start in Q4 2026. That is a reported start target, not confirmation that assembly began. The two reports describe planned development; neither establishes that BYD vehicles were already being produced locally.

What should a prospective buyer verify?
- Check the official distributor listing or contact an MMC location for the model’s current availability, price and delivery estimate.
- Confirm the vehicle’s Pakistan-market specifications, warranty and service arrangements directly with the distributor; the launch and milestone reports do not provide a complete comparable specification or warranty schedule.
- Ask about charging access relevant to your routes. A corridor described as under construction in January 2026 should not be assumed to be complete or operational based on that report alone.
