The Bugatti W16 Mistral is a limited-production, open-top hypercar powered by Bugatti’s 1,600 PS quad-turbo W16. Its 99-car production run ended in July 2026. Bugatti lists a top speed of 420 km/h (273 mph) in Top Speed mode; a separate, one-off World Record Car reached 453.91 km/h (282 mph) in a November 2024 run. Those figures describe different claims, not two specifications for every Mistral.
What is the Bugatti W16 Mistral?
Unveiled at Monterey Car Week in 2022, the Mistral is Bugatti’s open-top road-going expression of the W16. The company connects its design concept to the Type 57 Roadster Grand Raid and describes the completed Mistral run as the W16’s open-top road-going swansong. Bugatti announced on July 16, 2026, that the final car had left its Molsheim Atelier: 99 examples were built in total. Bugatti’s production-completion announcement
The final bespoke car was named “Blanc Éternel.” Bugatti’s release describes the closing example as a personal interpretation of the model’s heritage and open-top character. How much does the Bugatti Mistral cost?
Autocar lists £5,170,000 for the car in its road test. That is a published tested-car price, not a live resale quotation or a survey of current used-market listings. The production run is complete, and the available evidence does not establish a definitive current second-hand price. Autocar review and price · Bugatti production announcement

The higher 453.91 km/h (282 mph) figure belongs to a separate achievement: Bugatti says its one-off Mistral World Record Car reached that speed in November 2024 at ATP Papenburg. It is a record-run result, not the standard top-speed figure listed for every production Mistral. Bugatti production announcement
What is the Mistral like to drive?
Autocar’s road test around Molsheim praises the W16’s sound, the car’s quality and finish, and its comfortable seats, good ride and easy controls. The outlet found it enjoyable on moderate-speed back roads and easy to drive on its test route. These are Autocar’s impressions, not the result of an independent test for this article. The same review notes the Mistral’s width and turning circle, the limited opportunity to use its extreme performance on public roads, and expensive maintenance. That leaves a clear divide between the scale of the engineering and what ordinary road driving allows a driver to experience. Autocar road test
