When did Bugatti reveal the Chiron successor?
Bugatti announced on February 29, 2024 that a new model with a V16 hybrid powertrain would arrive in June. The car was unveiled as the Bugatti Tourbillon on June 20, 2024—eight years after the Chiron’s reveal, according to Bugatti. The reveal date is historical, not an upcoming event.

What was revealed: the Bugatti Tourbillon
Bugatti presented the Tourbillon as the Chiron’s successor and its first core model in more than 20 years without the W16. Instead, it pairs a naturally aspirated V16 with three electric motors: two on a front e-axle and one on the rear axle.

Powertrain figures
Bugatti describes the combustion engine as an 8.3-liter V16 engineered with Cosworth. It attributes 1,000 hp to the engine and 800 hp to the electric motors, for a stated combined output of 1,800 hp. Bugatti also lists a 25 kWh battery and an all-electric range of more than 60 km (37 miles). These are manufacturer specifications, not independent test results.
Cosworth gives the engine’s displacement more precisely as 8.35 liters and says it can rev to 9,000 rpm. Bugatti and Cosworth both state an engine weight of 252 kg. Cosworth also reports a 90-degree bank angle, cross-plane crank, dry sump and engine length just under one metre. The 8.3-liter and 8.35-liter figures reflect Bugatti’s rounded description and Cosworth’s more precise figure.

Bugatti says the Tourbillon has a new carbon-composite structure and weighs less than the Chiron. At launch, it announced a planned production run of 250 cars and a net starting price of €3.8 million. Those are company-announced plans, not confirmation of current availability or completed deliveries.

What is the latest production timeline?
At the June 2024 launch, Bugatti said prototypes were entering testing in anticipation of customer deliveries in 2026. In its 2025 year-in-review, the company said customer configurations began in 2025 and that Tourbillon production would commence in 2026. That update gives no exact production start date and does not establish that production has already begun.
